Excellent Video of the unloading of 101680 - Again I used to see her a lot around Marple and Manchester Piccadilly with Rose Hill Marple or Marple / Sheffield Services - Really Miss the 101s now and in the latter days they even have worked through to Chester and Stalybridge Services
Have driven 680 and 685 many times out of Man Picc. Never been a total failure with any of these sets always managed to limp home. As a double power car they would beat a 142 up Normans Bank ( from Sheffield ) any time plus you had control of the gearboxes. Hope to see them in action again.
3k pounds of hard cash to see a future at the railway secured by low cost public movement by a great British company again, I hate the rain and cold but this makes me want to stay in the uk
great video of how its done getting stock to the railways intresting too see it thank you.

One of my dmus I used to despatch at Marple. It needs to get into running order ASAP. Always was a good unit.
Look like a very useful addition to the fleet once she is running and fit for use. Well done on persevering in that downpour!!

Never seen one offloaded this way. Looks very efficient.
That’s some skilled driving credit due where credits due
Just going off-topic, why is it cheaper to send locos and rolling stock by road if there is a rail connection.
Nice historical video Robert but is there a reason why you don’t make the date captured more obvious in the title?
Sad thing is is that 101680 has recetly been condemned as of now. 😟
Instead of just saying: "From the archives", try giving the actual date or at least close to the date it actually happened.
this was around 2003 i think
Which a shame what they have let happen to her now, she just rotting under the long siding 😢
