I had no idea he’d done all this awesome stuff post rugby. A truly humble man.

Great interview, post All Black fatigue is a real thing. The amount of pressure on these guys to perform at their best, the judgement from the NZ public and press must be a heavy weight to carry through your career. Fitzy painted the picture well when he touched on his retirement decision "a weight lifted of my shoulders" Todays boys have social media watching their every move access to information at the click of a button and instant ridicule post match is a different level. But, it was still around when Fitzy was steering the ship. Actually hearing how that conversation went down and how he felt was very honest. I grew up watching Fitzy, that generation of the All Blacks made me proud to be a kiwi, our little nation punching way above their weight in the rugby world. It's what made me and many other kiwis love what the team stood for. Hard work, grit and determination. Put your mind to it, and you can achieve greatness. Thanks for sharing this guys. You really go the extra mile with research loved the billeting story. They really did bring rugby back to the communities pre 87 W.C. All the best Fitzy with Laureus you are doing amazing things for the kids struggling in the world. Humble and always well spoken.

Sean Fitzpatrick provides a great insight into learning to lead. It takes a huge amount of humility to be open to learn and apply that knowledge, because you have to admit to yourself and others that you don't know in the first place.
The man is an inspiration and example of New Zealand's consistent ability to create Great Humans.
Oh and if you want some help from a legend, maybe buy him a beer first! Love it!
