Sorry I know I've blitzed you with comments on this video but I've just noticed my fuel filter is the other way up than yours, I've got the white bit at the top and the clear bit at the bottom, is it deffo me whe has it wrong an dose it make a big difference

I've taken his advice, applied it to my bike and he's been right most of the time It's really the only channel with in-depth takedowns, cleaning, repairs, and of course the awsome scenery that I've been able to find. You got a (rare) like outta me simply because you grease wheel bearings! I can't tell you how much rolling resistance a poorly adjusted/ungreased wheel bearing adds to a bike. I had a buddy come over for a ride we were both on very similar haro bmx-style bikes. We swapped a couple times and I knew his bearings were either shot or almost there. I waited for him to say something and waited till we got back. I, then, promptly gave a bearing packing and adjustment tutorial. It was like night and day for him and added another fan to bearing aficionados everywhere.
The worst thing is over tightening the bearings for drag and damage. No grease will wear the bearings and race out real fast. But greasing them and then over tightening will SLOW you down and once you have wheel wobble you've worn those parts down beyond just a grease job. If you have sealed bearings it's all good but even washing your bike without them you should re grease them pretty quick, especially running an engine. Don't forget the cassette... not pedaling for so many miles means the rear gears are always clicking away. If the ratchet in it gets dry the fingers will fall out. Sorry for the long message lol
Cool beginning! I actually played back the long version while I was working from home yesterday, pretty neat. I love cruising back roads on my motorized bike but I've noticed the sides of the road are usually really bad, your bike looks like it takes bumps pretty well. I've never noticed how many people walk/run and bikers in tight pants roam the back roads near me. They dont seem amused when I pass them even though I give plenty of room going to the other side of the road when I pass and I am 100% legal as far as I know running my bike here in WI. I hear leaf blowers and weed whackers at 6am near me 3 days a week in the summer and no one bats an eye but as soon as you put a motor on a bike people go nutty.
You said it... bored entitled people are always looking for something to complain about because their life is self centered and void of adventure/love. That being said, if you are running an aftermarket or modified exhaust, they will always piss off people you pass.
I seem to have the opposite scenario where I live. Even though these bikes are illegal here due to a technicality which makes them impossible to register despite being considered a motor vehicle, every time I ride around my town, people stop and ask questions. "Where did you get that? How fast is it? How much for you to build me one?" Ect. Even with my expansion chamber pipe roaring down quiet side roads at night, people seem more prone to giving me a thumbs up than a dirty look. Honestly, it makes me kinda feel like a local celebrity or something.
My lower back starts bothering me after about 15-20 miles. I'm always on the state highway and it's generally fairly smooth on the shoulders (when they are there) but I am 46 years old so that accounts for some I'm sure. I recently switched from a mountain bike to a nice cruiser with wide 27.5" wheels, a Springer front end and a cushy Schwinn seat with the two big springs so I'm hoping the ride will be a little more pleasant from now on.
Vibration is everything. Put some rubber strips between your motor mounts and the frame using an old bicycle tire or garden hose. Wear padded bike shorts like the Tour de France pro's. (You can wear them under your cargo shorts if you're self conscious) Wear padded cycling gloves to reduce vibrations into your hands too. Be sure to stand on the pedals every ten minutes or so. But you should probably be giving the motor a chance to cool down every 20 miles or so anyways.
Raise your seat an inch or two ,common mistake when riding is not allowing your body to sit upright and fully extent the legs , it should be just low enough you can mount the bike, but high enough you gotta tilt the bike just a tad to the side to do so and I mean a tad, not lean the sucker over and climb about the stilts🤣 made a world of difference to my lower back, make sure the new seat is angled properly on the post aswell little things can cause a big pain in the ass

Awesome. My 4 stroke phatmoto goes about 40 miles on 1 dollar and 100 miles plus on a full tank. I wanna do the 1200 miles to Florida so bad. Maybe just dc but karens yell at me on the trails😂🍻
I like these vids! I used to ride the “fixie” style frame with sealed 5 spoke mags, a high compression head, stock NT carb and that same “peanut” tank from Station North in Baltimore city to downtown D.C. it took me about a tank and a quarter to complete the trip. Sometimes a tank and a half. Lots of rolling hills but most of the trip was a straight shot. I was a nice ride on that size wheel and I took the lane because the bike held a nice speed also lots of kudos and cellphone picks from motorist along the way. So many curious people along the way. I no longer live in the area but still have a 2 stroke bike and looking for a new route.
I just bought a brand new beautiful mountain bike at Dick's Sporting Goods didn't want to get a cheap mountain bike so I spent 400 I made sure to get front suspension and a nice dirty bike got my motor kit put it on myself I've been riding it for a little over a week and I have to say the performance gets better every day I ride it I really fell in love with this little motor kit just the whole package I built

For an all stock China doll with a lowered gear ratio that is actually rather impressive. What shocked me was that the clutch hung in there being that you do not have pedal assist to get you going. I have a build in mind but it will have a much higher performance engine on the bike. Total cost is probably going to be around 1500 bucks but should it work out the way I envision it will definitely spark interests everywhere. Thanks for sharing and be safe out there. Oh by the way I always take a backpack with tools and extras when I hit trails no matter what type of bike it is you can never be too prepared for Murphy's Law of not if it will happen ut rather when it will happen 😉😉
Great vid. First thing i figured out going Trail Riding was to bring spare fuel indeed. Second was always bring a Folding Saw of good quality. Trees and limbs cutting on trails. Easier to lift bikes over. Let someone else pick up and move it though. Hey i make it easier for them dang it. Third was bring tools for the bike itself. Breaking down sucks. Fourth... Relax and Enjoy the Ride. Try not to worry about things that may go wrong during the ride. Fifth .... Tell a Loved One or a Friend your ride route. In case you do not return from the Ride. Things happen. Accidents happen. Animals may attack you on the bike. I've had snakes, gators, bear, boar, and cougars try and catch me before. It happens. Be Safe. Be Cautious. Be Alert. But try to Relax too.
mine did about 70kms so thats also 40 miles!! stock aliexpress 80cc kit with the bofang nt carburetor, clip at the second from leanest position, not rejetted, stock 48t rear sprocket. i also took the muffler out of my exhaust, but the cap is still on so its basically kind of an expansion chamber. im planning on putting a 21mm pwk carb on there and also upgrading to a 36t hub mount rear sprocket kit. happy riding and stay safe✌
My engine destroyed itself today when I was 25 miles away from home. I was running the carb way too lean. The piston got really scored and same with the cylinder. I ordered a replacement piston and cylinder on amazon for 25 dollars. I was bummed and I had to go for a pretty good pedal. The reason these motors are so nice are the replacement parts are very cheap. And by the way, nice video!
Oh man the moment it died that far out must have been gut wrenching. Sorry to hear it man... I have been having motor issues on two bikes ever since I started testing 40:1, so I'm going back to 32:1

Just got my bike running again after some engine mods and sitting around for a year haha! But also bought a motorcycle helmet this time around and a huge improvement! I feel way safer and much more comfortable with it on than a regular bike helmet, also the benefit of the visor keeping your face nicely protected
The wiring comment mentioned the bigger the wire the larger the allowed amperage or “rate of flow “ a wire has volatile is just the “pressure “ the smaller he wire the smaller the allowed current “allowed”meaning to avoid melting the wire and causing chaos
That isnt a standard size gas tank that is the big birtha. The standard gas tanks seem to get around 22-25 miles. Thanks for all the Q&A that provided some good info and perspective. Much appreciated.
At the vid start when you said 2L tank. I said to myself. 40-45 miles tops. Mine has a 3.785 liter tank aka 1 gallon. 4 liter if i fill it to the cap itself. My bikes are 4 stroke. No pedal assist too. I should check into 2stroke engines for my frames.
I've been watching your videos to the point where I've subscribed. I really enjoy watching where this little motor can take you! I've ordered one for my bike..and I'm curious about the break in period. I've broken in many 2 stroke nitro engines with a great success, but I'm nervous about doing this one correctly! Do you have any suggestions? Do I just ride it slow for the first few tanks? How do you usually do yours? Your engines seem to run really well!, thanks in advance!
Another way to expose more surface area to the atmosphere for heat transference would be to remove all paint on the cylinder and head. The best way to do that would be media blasting. The media being glass beads or sand. This leaves a rough surface which is larger in area than a smooth, flat surface. All of my air cooled engines are treated in this way.
26:00 what I've found is, it's not the weight. It's the awkward way you have to hold the bike and the fact that you have to hold it far enough away to not burn yourself on the engine or exhaust. Guess they weren't ment to be carried to much
If you made it that far doing large tracts of the trip off road with a 50 something tooth gear imagine how far my cruiser style commuter bike will make it with a 40 tooth gear on paved road!
at 13:47 you mentioned that anyone should speak up if we do trail terrain on a cruiser... well, that's me! :) I don't have any videos of it, but essentially I was given a Micargi beach cruiser and a (very poorly assembled) engine kit. The original owners apparently had no technical skills (fixing their 'work' gave me a real hard time), and so they just gave up and gave it to me for free. [[one of their issues I'm working on right now is they misaligned the rear sprocket, so I'm working on that later today.]] I don't really want to buy a mountain bike and another engine kit simply to make it more durable and allow for a bit more off-road riding, so I've made some basic mods like adding a front brake (revolutionary! wow!) since it only had a coaster brake, swapping for off-road tires, making my own vibration padding for the engine mounts, and blacksmithing a third engine mount because it would lean on the axis with only two mounts. All this was practically for free! I got the front brake and off-road tires from a broken bike, I made the third engine mount from rebar, and I made the vibration padding out of rubber/foam flip flop soles and random foam. I'm considering buying a cheap $30 front fork with suspension just to give it at least a minimum level of shock absorption. Practically everything else is the same from the original beach cruiser, and I've been able to get along on trails quite nicely! Sure, I have to throw my body weight around and feather the clutch sometimes, but it's still remarkably fun on a cruiser. Let me know what you think :) Anyway, amazing videos! Oil burns hotter than gasoline. Something to think about if overheating is an issue. Also, the more oil in the fuel, the leaner the fuel/air ratio, which also contributes to the heat.
I've had mine sitting for about 4 years outside mostly covered, started right up once I had everything tightened up again and gased up ,(I took out the old gas of course 😭) and straightened everything before the first try.
I used to ride mine down log roads, huge rocks everywhere it was very rough, I even wrecked and broke some cooling fins off, still ran good and I would still rip around, I defnitly never took care of the bike either, a 85 dollar huffy beach cruiser is a decent route if you relocate the mount for thr rear wheel, I had to install mine in the little cutouts before the wheel mount because they warped instantly, never had a issue after that just be sure to use thick washers for clearance.
Is it just an optical illusion or is that flange around your tank smaller than normal? The reason I ask is because I'm always whacking my knees against the tank and I also think that your tank looks way better anyway
I live in the city with one near by trails so I'm using a cruiser bike because its smoother. Also i like being able to ride my mountain bike on that one trail because it has a rule against anything with a motor
About the gpu/cpu cooler thing... Some of them have a lot of fins close to each other. Those are designed for active cooling, where you have a fan blowing all the time, and some are passive cooled, the fins are spread apart. This all have to do with the static pressure of the air being able to go through the fins, passive ones relying only on convection. Assuming that you may be able to mount one of these to you head, maybe if you line up the fins to the front, you can get more effective cooling. Now... a bike frame is usually made of aluminum. It it stupid for me to think that the frame can somehow be linked to the head and used to sink some heat?
I go 16miles to plasma and then back every wensday n Friday so 64 miles a week I put about 100 on it a week with my trips to the tmrw. Easy to buy 2 stroke and gas is everywhere great to have a motor.
Holy shizzle, we live in the same state! Anyhauser, I just bought me a Kent Bayside here a little while back (right from the rack at Wal-Mart) and I wanna get me one of those Zeda 100 engines to go on it. That way I will have myself a 7-speeder runabout.

@@LAHover Already done that actually 😁. Took them off right after I bought it. Next thing coming off will be my pedal crank (only temporarily) and figuring out how I'm gonna chain together the Zeda engine and the Shimano cassette/transmission. A jackshaft will work but finding one with at least a little bit of quality is the challenge. Unless I'm not looking hard enough, it seems that Alibaba and AliExpress keep cornering me in an alley with their cheap hoopty-house crap 🤣.
If this is your first build I highly recommend just using the motor kit's direct drive. But if you go with a jack shaft / shifter kit I wish you the best of luck.
I have a decent e-bike and I love it. But I bought one of the gas ones because I like to tinker I got sold 100 cc kit on an old Roadmaster frame stuck in high gear so it was super hard to start because he put a jackshaft kit on it. Is it going 2 cost what I paid again to get it right but that's okay. Only thing that sucks is it needs everything. Split plug wires carburetors derailleur, I'm kind of an optimist so when I get it fixed I will be that much more proud. Toyed with the idea of getting a whole new kit but that's not me, is the work with what you got challenge.
Thank you, man, I am currently breaking in my Paxmor 80 cc buiold and i used a Huffy Deluxe 26" cruiser frame and your videos to build it. It took me about 4 days and about 4-6 per day/ This includes a day to fix 4 stroking and 2 days in chain issues. It turned out great and I will continue to use your videos. I lhave lost 1 spoke, had to modify my breather cap in order to get the best chain action. Also, due to chain action, i had to buy Grade A bolts and nuts on the wheel sprocket bc the chinese stock ones stripped out and gave me a lot of problems. I live in Mississippi, so our weather is similar to yours. My top speed is 27 mph and my cruise mph is between 17 and 23, is this the usual speeds for an 80 cc build? And is it ok to run full throttle a lot?
i suppose with planning motorized bike rides you have three choices, go one way then return the same way, or do a big loop, or just ride any directions until you get lost.
As far as adding vinyl siding between the tube and tires I had totally forgotten about rim tape to protect your tubes from the spokes puncturing it. Guess vinyl siding could be used there also to help protect the tubes. Do you think using it in both locations will give a hard stiff ride?
The bike shop in an expensive tourist town had tire liners for $42 a piece. They were built like a sherman tank, sidewalls and all. They said their rentals never had a flat yet. I would stick anything in there, the ride wont be any different.

About the comments made at about 15:40 concerning sprocket size, he states the smaller sprocket would be better because it would be easier on things like the chain and stuff and would keep it running cooler due to higher speeds. My thoughts are this is not true for a few reasons. The clutch is being ridden to crap because he cannot pedal so imagine taking off with the small sprocket? Some other people just don't feel like pedaling and ride that sucker for 30 seconds straight lol. The chain doesn't get an easier treatment either. Maybe if the sprocket were smaller on the front, then the chain would get more shock loads. The engine could also be working harder during lower speeds with the smaller rear sprocket as well, creating more heat in the engine and less air hitting the cooling fins. Just a few things that people should consider as fact when choosing that's all. Thanks for taking the time.
Running without a bike chain was a temporary thing for this bike (as clearly stated in the video), so using that as your argument is void... Trough ACTUAL testing I have found that motor temps are kept slightly lower with smaller sprockets, and fuel mileage increases greatly. All of this is dependent on riding conditions. If you live in town, or on hills I should not have to tell you that a small sprocket is a bad idea and vise versa
@@LAHover that's why I stated clearly that some others use only the clutch and I also said "he cannot pedal". I'm just gonna say that we are agreeing on stuff here I only want to say what I've noticed and explain is all. I'm not trying to go against your experiences, just going by my own experiences during real driving observations. The fastest way to cool any engine is to produce some speed without bogging the engine out but not revving too much either. Too much throttle and/or bogging any engine especially an air cooled two stroke without enough speed (could happen on a harsh trail or uphill on a hot day) with a smaller sprocket in back, ridden by someone who doesn't know better, is quite heavy or doesn't want to pedal, or maybe cannot pedal for whatever the reason will heat that sucker up and fast, while eating up more gas and if used to compensate, clutch as well. A smaller rear sprocket will for sure ease up on the torque transferred to the spokes. Just sharing some stuff that I have noticed. Oh by the way, how did you measure engine 🌡️ with no water cooling, or anywhere to screw a 🌡️ gauge into the block? You must have carried a laser 🌡️ measuring rig. I own a step through circa 1950's bike. Anyone you've heard of motoring these type of steel bicycles around your area? I'd like to try this one but not sure if the frame design works. 23:10 what is that tin sound, high pitch metal noises. My bike does it too and it just sounds terrible, like something is scraping or not lubed I dunno, maybe it's normal.
Thats funny about the fuel filter! I would never run a dirtbike or motorcycle or quad or whatever long without one. Stuff can and will make it past the petcock filter. Ive seen rust make it past the petcock and inline filter
My choke keeps vibrating up aswel so zip tied it down, I've already took some of your advice an put a peace of old innertube under my petrol tank, thanks, my fuel filter is leaking now, where the top white bit screws on to the rest bottom clear bit of the filter if you know where I mean, I was going to use white Plummets tape but I can't un-screw it an don't know wether it's safe to force it without breaking it
Why do you pedal while on the road? Is it a legality issue? I did the same today while on the bike path...assuming it would be considered assist, like an electric motor. Not sure if that would help me anyways. These are legal on the road here in Florida. It is considered a moped.

How to fix yd100= convert to ld100 with cnc head. Mine does 50mph+ on 100deg day for hrs. Along with many other mods but the switch to an ld100 and cnc head will stop the overheating issues lol
ive used e3 spark plug n havent changed mine i use e3 spark plugs in my atv small engines cars trucks never let me down e3 spark plugs r 5yrs /100k mile
well in my case I have a lot of slack in my chain and that is the only way I could make it so the chain would not keep coming off or putting hole in my block.

You have to remove not only the coaster arm but also the bearing cover. For the engine add on sprocket .it won't touch the spokes without clearing the bearing housing

I have a cruiser 7 speed I have to say honestly that it’s more of what you pay for a cruiser I payed $500 it’s good quality 630 but not a thin sheet metal framed $90 I live on the Appalachians and it handle the hills the dirt road I live on and does go off road into rivers and rocks and mud a lot it also most the time has 50-120 pounds in the back since it has a rear rack I make walking sticks there very rugid and but also the upright position is better for the spine with a person with spinal issues is easy to tell what’s better for long distance
3.5 Liter tank 32 tooth on a cruiser for a first build on 26s , 2 stroke. What would you guess miles per tank? I'm 6ft plus at 300 lbs so comfort is a must. Wish I could ride your style bike. Blessings to you and yours brother as I waive from SOUTH CAROLINA. 👍🏼👍🏼💯💯
Hard to say honestly. But if the tune is good and you are not fighting allot of hills I'd expect 50~ miles on a 3.5L. Above 220lb will cause the China dolls to drink allot. You may actually get better mileage out of a slightly larger motor like the yd-100.

Nice videos but I would prefer if the bike were a motorized BMX style bike like the one built by Neves Projects. I thought the bike he built was pretty cool and built how a motorized BMX should be built if you like that style bike like I do and that is why I will build one too. :)

You got a (rare) like outta me simply because you grease wheel bearings! I can't tell you how much rolling resistance a poorly adjusted/ungreased wheel bearing adds to a bike. I had a buddy come over for a ride we were both on very similar haro bmx-style bikes. We swapped a couple times and I knew his bearings were either shot or almost there. I waited for him to say something and waited till we got back. I, then, promptly gave a bearing packing and adjustment tutorial. It was like night and day for him and added another fan to bearing aficionados everywhere.
The worst thing is over tightening the bearings for drag and damage. No grease will wear the bearings and race out real fast. But greasing them and then over tightening will SLOW you down and once you have wheel wobble you've worn those parts down beyond just a grease job. If you have sealed bearings it's all good but even washing your bike without them you should re grease them pretty quick, especially running an engine. Don't forget the cassette... not pedaling for so many miles means the rear gears are always clicking away. If the ratchet in it gets dry the fingers will fall out. Sorry for the long message lol
Cool beginning! I actually played back the long version while I was working from home yesterday, pretty neat. I love cruising back roads on my motorized bike but I've noticed the sides of the road are usually really bad, your bike looks like it takes bumps pretty well. I've never noticed how many people walk/run and bikers in tight pants roam the back roads near me. They dont seem amused when I pass them even though I give plenty of room going to the other side of the road when I pass and I am 100% legal as far as I know running my bike here in WI. I hear leaf blowers and weed whackers at 6am near me 3 days a week in the summer and no one bats an eye but as soon as you put a motor on a bike people go nutty.
You said it... bored entitled people are always looking for something to complain about because their life is self centered and void of adventure/love. That being said, if you are running an aftermarket or modified exhaust, they will always piss off people you pass.
I seem to have the opposite scenario where I live. Even though these bikes are illegal here due to a technicality which makes them impossible to register despite being considered a motor vehicle, every time I ride around my town, people stop and ask questions. "Where did you get that? How fast is it? How much for you to build me one?" Ect. Even with my expansion chamber pipe roaring down quiet side roads at night, people seem more prone to giving me a thumbs up than a dirty look. Honestly, it makes me kinda feel like a local celebrity or something.

My lower back starts bothering me after about 15-20 miles. I'm always on the state highway and it's generally fairly smooth on the shoulders (when they are there) but I am 46 years old so that accounts for some I'm sure. I recently switched from a mountain bike to a nice cruiser with wide 27.5" wheels, a Springer front end and a cushy Schwinn seat with the two big springs so I'm hoping the ride will be a little more pleasant from now on.
Vibration is everything. Put some rubber strips between your motor mounts and the frame using an old bicycle tire or garden hose. Wear padded bike shorts like the Tour de France pro's. (You can wear them under your cargo shorts if you're self conscious) Wear padded cycling gloves to reduce vibrations into your hands too. Be sure to stand on the pedals every ten minutes or so. But you should probably be giving the motor a chance to cool down every 20 miles or so anyways.
Raise your seat an inch or two ,common mistake when riding is not allowing your body to sit upright and fully extent the legs , it should be just low enough you can mount the bike, but high enough you gotta tilt the bike just a tad to the side to do so and I mean a tad, not lean the sucker over and climb about the stilts🤣 made a world of difference to my lower back, make sure the new seat is angled properly on the post aswell little things can cause a big pain in the ass

I like these vids! I used to ride the “fixie” style frame with sealed 5 spoke mags, a high compression head, stock NT carb and that same “peanut” tank from Station North in Baltimore city to downtown D.C. it took me about a tank and a quarter to complete the trip. Sometimes a tank and a half. Lots of rolling hills but most of the trip was a straight shot. I was a nice ride on that size wheel and I took the lane because the bike held a nice speed also lots of kudos and cellphone picks from motorist along the way. So many curious people along the way. I no longer live in the area but still have a 2 stroke bike and looking for a new route.

I just bought a brand new beautiful mountain bike at Dick's Sporting Goods didn't want to get a cheap mountain bike so I spent 400 I made sure to get front suspension and a nice dirty bike got my motor kit put it on myself I've been riding it for a little over a week and I have to say the performance gets better every day I ride it I really fell in love with this little motor kit just the whole package I built

For an all stock China doll with a lowered gear ratio that is actually rather impressive. What shocked me was that the clutch hung in there being that you do not have pedal assist to get you going. I have a build in mind but it will have a much higher performance engine on the bike. Total cost is probably going to be around 1500 bucks but should it work out the way I envision it will definitely spark interests everywhere. Thanks for sharing and be safe out there. Oh by the way I always take a backpack with tools and extras when I hit trails no matter what type of bike it is you can never be too prepared for Murphy's Law of not if it will happen ut rather when it will happen 😉😉

First thing i figured out going Trail Riding was to bring spare fuel indeed.
Second was always bring a Folding Saw of good quality. Trees and limbs cutting on trails. Easier to lift bikes over. Let someone else pick up and move it though. Hey i make it easier for them dang it.
Third was bring tools for the bike itself. Breaking down sucks.
Fourth... Relax and Enjoy the Ride. Try not to worry about things that may go wrong during the ride.
Fifth .... Tell a Loved One or a Friend your ride route. In case you do not return from the Ride. Things happen. Accidents happen. Animals may attack you on the bike. I've had snakes, gators, bear, boar, and cougars try and catch me before. It happens.
Be Safe. Be Cautious. Be Alert.

mine did about 70kms so thats also 40 miles!! stock aliexpress 80cc kit with the bofang nt carburetor, clip at the second from leanest position, not rejetted, stock 48t rear sprocket. i also took the muffler out of my exhaust, but the cap is still on so its basically kind of an expansion chamber. im planning on putting a 21mm pwk carb on there and also upgrading to a 36t hub mount rear sprocket kit.

How many kilometres have you been driven with the 80ccm motor?
My engine destroyed itself today when I was 25 miles away from home. I was running the carb way too lean. The piston got really scored and same with the cylinder. I ordered a replacement piston and cylinder on amazon for 25 dollars. I was bummed and I had to go for a pretty good pedal. The reason these motors are so nice are the replacement parts are very cheap. And by the way, nice video!

Just got my bike running again after some engine mods and sitting around for a year haha! But also bought a motorcycle helmet this time around and a huge improvement! I feel way safer and much more comfortable with it on than a regular bike helmet, also the benefit of the visor keeping your face nicely protected

The wiring comment mentioned the bigger the wire the larger the allowed amperage or “rate of flow “ a wire has volatile is just the “pressure “ the smaller he wire the smaller the allowed current “allowed”meaning to avoid melting the wire and causing chaos
Larger wires can also be used with higher voltages power lines are a prime example of this

That isnt a standard size gas tank that is the big birtha. The standard gas tanks seem to get around 22-25 miles. Thanks for all the Q&A that provided some good info and perspective. Much appreciated.

Mine has a 3.785 liter tank aka 1 gallon. 4 liter if i fill it to the cap itself.

Another way to expose more surface area to the atmosphere for heat transference would be to remove all paint on the cylinder and head. The best way to do that would be media blasting. The media being glass beads or sand. This leaves a rough surface which is larger in area than a smooth, flat surface. All of my air cooled engines are treated in this way.

26:00 what I've found is, it's not the weight. It's the awkward way you have to hold the bike and the fact that you have to hold it far enough away to not burn yourself on the engine or exhaust.

at 13:47 you mentioned that anyone should speak up if we do trail terrain on a cruiser... well, that's me! :) I don't have any videos of it, but essentially I was given a Micargi beach cruiser and a (very poorly assembled) engine kit. The original owners apparently had no technical skills (fixing their 'work' gave me a real hard time), and so they just gave up and gave it to me for free.
[[one of their issues I'm working on right now is they misaligned the rear sprocket, so I'm working on that later today.]]
I don't really want to buy a mountain bike and another engine kit simply to make it more durable and allow for a bit more off-road riding, so I've made some basic mods like adding a front brake (revolutionary! wow!) since it only had a coaster brake, swapping for off-road tires, making my own vibration padding for the engine mounts, and blacksmithing a third engine mount because it would lean on the axis with only two mounts.
All this was practically for free! I got the front brake and off-road tires from a broken bike, I made the third engine mount from rebar, and I made the vibration padding out of rubber/foam flip flop soles and random foam. I'm considering buying a cheap $30 front fork with suspension just to give it at least a minimum level of shock absorption.
Practically everything else is the same from the original beach cruiser, and I've been able to get along on trails quite nicely! Sure, I have to throw my body weight around and feather the clutch sometimes, but it's still remarkably fun on a cruiser. Let me know what you think :) Anyway, amazing videos! Oil burns hotter than gasoline. Something to think about if overheating is an issue. Also, the more oil in the fuel, the leaner the fuel/air ratio, which also contributes to the heat.

I've had mine sitting for about 4 years outside mostly covered, started right up once I had everything tightened up again and gased up ,(I took out the old gas of course 😭) and straightened everything before the first try.
I used to ride mine down log roads, huge rocks everywhere it was very rough, I even wrecked and broke some cooling fins off, still ran good and I would still rip around, I defnitly never took care of the bike either, a 85 dollar huffy beach cruiser is a decent route if you relocate the mount for thr rear wheel, I had to install mine in the little cutouts before the wheel mount because they warped instantly, never had a issue after that just be sure to use thick washers for clearance.

Is it just an optical illusion or is that flange around your tank smaller than normal? The reason I ask is because I'm always whacking my knees against the tank and I also think that your tank looks way better anyway
I live in the city with one near by trails so I'm using a cruiser bike because its smoother. Also i like being able to ride my mountain bike on that one trail because it has a rule against anything with a motor
About the gpu/cpu cooler thing...
Some of them have a lot of fins close to each other. Those are designed for active cooling, where you have a fan blowing all the time, and some are passive cooled, the fins are spread apart. This all have to do with the static pressure of the air being able to go through the fins, passive ones relying only on convection. Assuming that you may be able to mount one of these to you head, maybe if you line up the fins to the front, you can get more effective cooling.
Now... a bike frame is usually made of aluminum. It it stupid for me to think that the frame can somehow be linked to the head and used to sink some heat?
I go 16miles to plasma and then back every wensday n Friday so 64 miles a week I put about 100 on it a week with my trips to the tmrw. Easy to buy 2 stroke and gas is everywhere great to have a motor.
How often and what kind of grease do i use on the right side gears
Anything high temp rated. Once a month or ever 10~ tanks... Wipe out some of the old grease so it does not work it's way onto the clutch pads.
I've been using white lithium spray grease. It doesn't fling off like normal grease does.
Holy shizzle, we live in the same state! Anyhauser, I just bought me a Kent Bayside here a little while back (right from the rack at Wal-Mart) and I wanna get me one of those Zeda 100 engines to go on it. That way I will have myself a 7-speeder runabout.

Just be sure to take off the stock fenders. They are very dangerous!
@@LAHover Already done that actually 😁. Took them off right after I bought it. Next thing coming off will be my pedal crank (only temporarily) and figuring out how I'm gonna chain together the Zeda engine and the Shimano cassette/transmission. A jackshaft will work but finding one with at least a little bit of quality is the challenge. Unless I'm not looking hard enough, it seems that Alibaba and AliExpress keep cornering me in an alley with their cheap hoopty-house crap 🤣.

If this is your first build I highly recommend just using the motor kit's direct drive. But if you go with a jack shaft / shifter kit I wish you the best of luck.
I have a decent e-bike and I love it. But I bought one of the gas ones because I like to tinker I got sold 100 cc kit on an old Roadmaster frame stuck in high gear so it was super hard to start because he put a jackshaft kit on it. Is it going 2 cost what I paid again to get it right but that's okay. Only thing that sucks is it needs everything. Split plug wires carburetors derailleur, I'm kind of an optimist so when I get it fixed I will be that much more proud. Toyed with the idea of getting a whole new kit but that's not me, is the work with what you got challenge.

Thank you, man, I am currently breaking in my Paxmor 80 cc buiold and i used a Huffy Deluxe 26" cruiser frame and your videos to build it. It took me about 4 days and about 4-6 per day/ This includes a day to fix 4 stroking and 2 days in chain issues. It turned out great and I will continue to use your videos. I lhave lost 1 spoke, had to modify my breather cap in order to get the best chain action. Also, due to chain action, i had to buy Grade A bolts and nuts on the wheel sprocket bc the chinese stock ones stripped out and gave me a lot of problems. I live in Mississippi, so our weather is similar to yours. My top speed is 27 mph and my cruise mph is between 17 and 23, is this the usual speeds for an 80 cc build? And is it ok to run full throttle a lot?
i suppose with planning motorized bike rides you have three choices, go one way then return the same way, or do a big loop, or just ride any directions until you get lost.
As far as adding vinyl siding between the tube and tires I had totally forgotten about rim tape to protect your tubes from the spokes puncturing it. Guess vinyl siding could be used there also to help protect the tubes. Do you think using it in both locations will give a hard stiff ride?
I personally like gorilla tape for rim lining. Siding there seems like a hassle to keep in place.
The bike shop in an expensive tourist town had tire liners for $42 a piece. They were built like a sherman tank, sidewalls and all. They said their rentals never had a flat yet. I would stick anything in there, the ride wont be any different.

About the comments made at about 15:40 concerning sprocket size, he states the smaller sprocket would be better because it would be easier on things like the chain and stuff and would keep it running cooler due to higher speeds. My thoughts are this is not true for a few reasons. The clutch is being ridden to crap because he cannot pedal so imagine taking off with the small sprocket? Some other people just don't feel like pedaling and ride that sucker for 30 seconds straight lol. The chain doesn't get an easier treatment either. Maybe if the sprocket were smaller on the front, then the chain would get more shock loads. The engine could also be working harder during lower speeds with the smaller rear sprocket as well, creating more heat in the engine and less air hitting the cooling fins. Just a few things that people should consider as fact when choosing that's all. Thanks for taking the time.
Running without a bike chain was a temporary thing for this bike (as clearly stated in the video), so using that as your argument is void...
Trough ACTUAL testing I have found that motor temps are kept slightly lower with smaller sprockets, and fuel mileage increases greatly.
All of this is dependent on riding conditions. If you live in town, or on hills I should not have to tell you that a small sprocket is a bad idea and vise versa
@@LAHover that's why I stated clearly that some others use only the clutch and I also said "he cannot pedal". I'm just gonna say that we are agreeing on stuff here I only want to say what I've noticed and explain is all. I'm not trying to go against your experiences, just going by my own experiences during real driving observations. The fastest way to cool any engine is to produce some speed without bogging the engine out but not revving too much either. Too much throttle and/or bogging any engine especially an air cooled two stroke without enough speed (could happen on a harsh trail or uphill on a hot day) with a smaller sprocket in back, ridden by someone who doesn't know better, is quite heavy or doesn't want to pedal, or maybe cannot pedal for whatever the reason will heat that sucker up and fast, while eating up more gas and if used to compensate, clutch as well. A smaller rear sprocket will for sure ease up on the torque transferred to the spokes. Just sharing some stuff that I have noticed. Oh by the way, how did you measure engine 🌡️ with no water cooling, or anywhere to screw a 🌡️ gauge into the block? You must have carried a laser 🌡️ measuring rig. I own a step through circa 1950's bike. Anyone you've heard of motoring these type of steel bicycles around your area? I'd like to try this one but not sure if the frame design works. Thats funny about the fuel filter! I would never run a dirtbike or motorcycle or quad or whatever long without one. Stuff can and will make it past the petcock filter. Ive seen rust make it past the petcock and inline filter

How to fix yd100= convert to ld100 with cnc head. Mine does 50mph+ on 100deg day for hrs. Along with many other mods but the switch to an ld100 and cnc head will stop the overheating issues lol

If the engine can fit in your bike, can your bike have more than 1 speed or would it conflict with the handlebars or would it be ok?
They sell kits for that but the reviews are poor.
well in my case I have a lot of slack in my chain and that is the only way I could make it so the chain would not keep coming off or putting hole in my block.

I can do that on my electric bike and it will only costs me pennies to fully charge it. But this gas bike costs nearly $2 to fill up.

It doesn't fit on the Cranbrook. The bearing cover doesnt allow the engine sprocket to clear . It pinches the bearing cover .
You have to remove not only the coaster arm but also the bearing cover. For the engine add on sprocket .it won't touch the spokes without clearing the bearing housing

The coaster still works but only at stopping. At fast it will force your legs to rotate.
Adding a front brake to a Cranbrook will eat thru pads faster than your hiking socks.
Rear horseshoe. Get decent pads

I have a cruiser 7 speed I have to say honestly that it’s more of what you pay for a cruiser I payed $500 it’s good quality 630 but not a thin sheet metal framed $90 I live on the Appalachians and it handle the hills the dirt road I live on and does go off road into rivers and rocks and mud a lot it also most the time has 50-120 pounds in the back since it has a rear rack I make walking sticks there very rugid and but also the upright position is better for the spine with a person with spinal issues is easy to tell what’s better for long distance
3.5 Liter tank 32 tooth on a cruiser for a first build on 26s , 2 stroke. What would you guess miles per tank? I'm 6ft plus at 300 lbs so comfort is a must. Wish I could ride your style bike. Blessings to you and yours brother as I waive from SOUTH CAROLINA. 👍🏼👍🏼💯💯
Hard to say honestly. But if the tune is good and you are not fighting allot of hills I'd expect 50~ miles on a 3.5L.
Above 220lb will cause the China dolls to drink allot. You may actually get better mileage out of a slightly larger motor like the yd-100.
