This was a brutal challenge to complete. Final Fantasy 7’s story is freaking incredible but as long as it takes to beat the story, it takes more than double to platinum. Even with skipping all the cutscenes in hard mode. But don’t get me started on the chadley VR challenges those last few gave me permanent brain rot.

I have to admit, the Legendary Bout "To Be a Hero" is way too much fun. Great reward for going through all of that. "Bonds of Friendship" could be toned down though. Seph kind of makes Zack feel like a weak little baby.

Everyone complains about Bonds but Rulers of the Outer Worlds was waaaay worse for me. They way Virtual Sephiroth only targets characters you're not using with a move you're supposed to perfect parry in order to avoid is just utter BS.
No no aerith doesn't want to keep taking cloud to dates at 30:22, literally any1 can take you, it depends on your relationship from the conversations and the side quests. For me Tifa showed up and if you literally do nothing and just straight do the story then nanaki shows up.
Edit - at 31:40 no the Biggs of this universe didn't survive, this is our Biggs who got teleported to this timeline just like Zack himself got teleported.

I platinum this game a few days ago, and honestly I want to feel proud but burned 200+ hours in that game and constantly had to redo the cloud and Zack fight over and over again because 10 rounds of that was really brutal. I want to say I slammed my head against that fight 2-3 days straight 8+ hours a day, what they should do is patch that fight and tone it down a bit
That’s basically my experience with it as well. But we got it!
The fact that you don't even really use Zack at all until that gauntlet is crazy. I ended up finishing it by looking up a cheese build that just had Zack cast Faith on Cloud every fight, then have Cloud cast Aeroga on everything. It was like, Cloud with a Rune Blade, Wind/Thunder Magic Focus, Wind HP Absorb, Wind MP Absorb, Wind Swiftcast, ATB Boost, and Fire/Ice Elemental (armor). Every fight I would just have Zack cast Faith on Cloud and go die in a corner while Cloud did the actual fighting.
took me maybe a day, RNG plays a factor, and the fights are overtuned, they could do with lowering the difficulty a bit, so more than 2 strats are viable.
Sorry to hear you had a rough time but honestly Zack and sephiroth are utterly broken once you learn their mechanics. No cheesing required, i had tons of fun learning what i can do with Zack and sephiroth and once i figured them out holy shit were they fun to use. They are waaaayyy to strong so i understand why the game only gave them one challenge each.

You are wrong about what happens after the ancients temple. Aeritth and cloud are transported to a variation of the Zack timeline. because the dog is different, there are actually 5 timelines during that point and a total of 7 in the game
1) Main Timeline (Stamp is a beagle) - Cloud forces himself to cry during Aerith death
2) Zack Timeline (Stamp is a terrier)
3) Zack returns to Church (Johny is shown carrying a different a stamp plush in Japanese Akita form )
4) Zack goes to Hojo's lab (Stamp as seen on the desk is some kind of shepherd dog )
5) Cloud and Aerith go on a date (Stamp is a Pomeranian)
6) While Aerith dies ( OG Prime Cloud giving the speech of how Aerith will never laugh or cry again)
7) Zack goes to Biggs (Stamp is a Pug)
Even maybe an 8 where he saved Aerith

Video came into the algorithm and did not disappoint! It’s a crazy platinum to get, but I’m happy that Rebirth is just whacky video gamey, sometimes too much for its own good, but it’s so awesome to just lose yourself. Platinum trophies, IMO, SHOULD be hard to get, just the biggest complaint to the minigames was the movement. Outside of combat movement is just not done well. The controls sometimes control like a tank, especially for (*spoiler*) The Gliding Chocobo in Cosmo Canyon. Other than that, this game took me back to the early 2000s where games did NOT GIVE A F*** about just putting everything in as much as they could. Irregardless if people like the extra (and obvious) padding, this game was made with a lot of love, and we should support this as much as we can

good for you to not get screwed out of the plat by installing the patch
I still really think that if they’d added a way to fight Gilgamesh again/VS Sephiroth in the simulator outside of Rulers, it would make THAT challenge less of a hassle so you could learn their patterns/timing organically instead of slogging through all those summons first each time to get to them.

I realized I couldn’t do Rufus on hard mode and gave up. Particularly because it meant I wouldn’t be using abilities on him saving the ATB for Pray

Love the titling of the "I got the platinum" videos for this game. Explore the world, highscore the minigames, defeat all the enemies, beat the game on the hardest difficulty. They are the same as any other RPG and honestly for square enix trophies rebirth is pretty tame. As far as open worlds go Rebirths platinum is one of the quicker ones. Hardest trophy in my opinion is the one for 7 staring johnnies hotel but if your going for platinum anyway your not doing to much extra for it,

The more i replay the ending.... The more I wonder.... Are we actually going through the various materia? A clear white materia could represent the world accepting its end or rather a failed battle against Sephy. While the black materia is the spacey meteorite like places..this is nomura we are talking about, its in his wheelhouse to do this.
Kinda Speedrun through gongaga and cosmic canyon, but the second I got access to travel to previous regions, I managed to clean up grasslands, junon and Corel.

Struggled a lot with the other challenges in VR Mode especially those 10 round stages. The Sefi and Zack stages have been alright with a good guide (Ive used Optinoob). Odin wasn't even that bad! In my opinion his attacks are pretty blockable! Had a really bad time with the rulers of outer world. But the game was insanely fun and I enjoyed everything about it! :)

Finished mine in 160 hours. I spent too much time re-doing the side quest in hard mode and upgrading all materias to max. Badly needed that for the Brutal Challenges.
1:07:19 it’s option one. Cloud is the only one that goes through the portal; the same portal that the whole team went through in the first game. If the whole team had gone through the portal, they all would be able to see Aerith. But since only cloud went through, another version of her was created just like multiple versions of Avalanche were created from the first game to the second game. remember how they all were captured by Shinra and died basically. When Cloud’s sword was all lit up when it clashed with Sephiroth’s, that was him creating another reality. Aerith understands the battle with SephiRoth and is going between realities just like he is. I think we’re only seeing one version of Zack. The Zack created from the events of the first game. I think he has gone between realities.

I knew that trying to go through the brutal and legendary challenges without guides and cheese builds would be cancerous so I never attempted to do it on my own, optinoob saved my fuckin life.
Also doing all side content as you go through the game was a bit cancerous but I think it’s better to do it as soon as you get to compared to leaving them until after you finish the game.
If this part is brutal alone to platinum, imagine the weapon fights in part 3!

@@ItsRJ_YT Rulers of the Outer Worlds was just so unfair because the summons were doubled up. If they were one at a time, it would've been fine. The Zack and Sephiroth ones were really hard until you learn how to best utilize Sephi and Zack. For the Zack one I just used him to cast support spells to beef up Cloud, and made Cloud a mage build with broken magic stats and spammed Aeroga. The Sephiroth Fight I ended up quickly filling up Sephiroth limit gauge using the circle then triangle attack and equipping Cloud with the advanced expeditionary medal and Limit Siphon to essentially spam Finishing Touch

It took me 167 hours to platinum… that’s the longest trophy it’s ever taken me I think. And let me say it’s 100% worth it! I could easily put in another 20-30 to get EVERYTHING that it would take to get a 100% in the actual game. It’s so freaking good!

every single side quest and mini game in this game is awful. it’s a 2/10 game if you are new to final fantasy like i am
I managed mine in about 130. I guess I had relatively easy time, but some of the hard mode boss fights and ESPECIALLY two of the brutal challenges and a couple of the the legendary ones took me way too long. I must've spent close to 20 hours alone on finishing the Brutal and Legendary challenges.
All I need to complete is the legendary combat sims. (Beat Virtual sephiroth last night) and beat Sephiroth in 3D brawler and I'm done. Burned out 😅
I am 210 hours in and in the end of chapter 12 lol almost feels like the original.
The only thing between me and my plat is 6 more hard mode chapters. What a fucking grind. At least hard mode is like a speed run by skipping most things

The piano missions have defeated me.
I've S ranked everything besides Sephiroth's theme but at this point I can honestly say whoever designed this mini game is an absolute demon.
Literal piano is less hard than this note spam BS. The notes the game requires the player to hit don't even coordinate with the actual notes of the song being played. The Cosmo Canyon song is hellspawn and in my top 3 of hardest things in this game so far.
Look mate. I had my girlfriend help me. Get someone to help. You work one joystick. They work the other. That way you only have to focus on 1. It worked like a charm. We finished all the piano in less then an hour.
I was same man! I had only B! but a tip adjust the speed faster! i managed to win on A with having it almost the highest speed helped me so much
For the hardest music I got the gf to control thr left stick of the controller, while I did the right stick. Suppose it's cheating, but made it very easy to get all A's 😂

So they actually showed about 5 timelines towards the end lol you can tell by the different stamps in each world
Our main timeline - beagle
Zack’s timeline - Terrier
The one where Aerith and cloud wake up in after they fall - Pomeranian type of dog
The one where Zack decides to save Biggs - Pug
And the one where Zack is outside the church - Corgi/Shiba (can’t tell lol)
So there’s a lot of timelines but it seems like sephiroth combined them all at the end of it so they didn’t really matter
The canon couple is whoever you personally prefer it's an rpg it's made so you have the option.

Zack has always been Aerith's love interest, it's just he went missing and Aerith had a hunch back in Crisis core that something bad happened. And somehow Cloud showed up with some resemblance of Zack which is what interest her from their first meeting. Tifa and Cloud are probably still the canon couple if the timeline flows normally
Just my own theory breaking down the final fight.
1. Aerith dies in the main timeline just like she would, because destiny doesn't change. The Reunion happen and everything cross over and gets messed up.
2. Cloud cross into the alternate timeline,managed to resist Sephiroth's control to cut Aerith, save the alternate timeline Aerith from being stabbed, then returns to his own timeline almost immediately where main timeline Aerith lies dead and drops the completed white material into the lake below.
3. They start fighting Sephiroth, Cloud enters the edge of creation to confront Sephiroth and Zacks manage to enter it from his alternate timeline as well. That's where they team up and Sephiroth kicks Zack out and back into the alternate timline where he belongs. My guess is the edge is the realm between worlds. But I have another theory that the edge realm is just Cloud's inner mental world. Those who play the original FF7 will probably remember the very last fight between Cloud and Sephiroth is that black void, which is Cloud's inner world and represents Cloud defeating Sephiroth's mental control for good. This may probably be what this edge of creation place is as well. The very sequence happened back in Remake as well where Cloud has to 1v1 Sephiroth only to lose, because he still doesn't win over Sephiroth's control.
4. Sephiroth Reborn shows up in the edge of creation realm (Cloud), main timeline (rest of party) and the alternate timeline(Zack). All 3 realms have to fight him as Sephiroth Reborn is now a godlike being able to transcend all timelines.
5. After Reborn is defeated, Cloud is facing Sephiroth again in the edge realm. That's when the alternate timeline Aerith who he saved earlier shows up, main timeline Aerith is dead after all.
At the end back in the main timeline, Cloud is having more mental breakdown like in Crisis Core. He is seeing Aerith alive even though she is like dead *dead* but that is because he did meet a living Aerith from the alternate timeline so his perspective with reality is extremely whacked. After all seeing is believing he did meet her after she was "dead". The black material is absorb into the buster sword (no clue why or how) but the crack in the sky or timeline crack has probably nothing to do with it. It's just Cloud is now an anomaly who has transcend realms just like Sephiroth, or is extremely broken to be seeing things. How part 3 will explain everything is pretty exciting.
I think this was one of the toughest platinums I earned if only because I'm convinced the Zack/Cloud VR Battle was not playtested. Probably a huge skill issue on my end, and to be fair, I do suck at the game overall...but there is a difference between making something challenging and making something wildly unenjoyable in every way. I hate to use this as an example, but I've platinum'd the soulslike games and while they are challenging, they are well balanced, enjoyable, and rewarding. FF7R2's VR simulators carried none of those traits. Perhaps I also hate Chadley too...who knows, but the sterile, repetitive, unappealing, gauntlet-only style of game mode and visual environment is not the way. I like the game overall, don't get me wrong, a solid 8.5/10 from me, but if I were to include the (yes, optional) platinum hunt, it would quickly drop this to 4.5/10.

clouds memory ia rewritten in real time. The flashes ( as explained , so im not pulling this out my ass) happen wenn the jenova cells kick in. he thinks he saved her. thats why his limit gauge is empty.

The whole thing about Cloud being like Zack being a massive spoiler made me spiral out of control with theories about Shinra experiments. But having played Crisis Core now, after Rebirth, it doesn't really seem to be that much of a spoiler. The fact that people said it was a spoiler was more of a spoiler than the actual truth, which seems to be that Cloud just really liked Zack, and based his persona on Zack because he thought he was really cool. Then he erased Zack from his memory due to mako poisoning and the trauma of witnessing his death. Yes there were experiments, but those seem to connect Cloud more to Jenova and Sephiroth than Zack. In short, Cloud wanting to be like Zack isn't actually that mind melting of a spoiler and I wish people would stop saying that it was.
VR simulator was the hardest the hardest mini game was that flying chocobo one where u have to get that last shit where to get it u gotta do like a perfect dive bomb and pull up at just the right time took me 4 hours. the cactuar one was annoyin too besides that i did em pretty easy the fort conquer and that slime mini game was not that bad with youtube guides. the piano only one song was kinda hard. pull ups was easy af.
Another thing i don't get about the nibelheim flashback tifa says cloud was never there right.
Yet she never questioned how Cloud knew everything that happened to her and Sephiroth at the reactor.

U need to do everything all the minigames on hard and the last thing for me was the fiend world intel missions doing all the requirements eg. stagger them etc

This will be my first ps5 platinum, 5 to go, chadleys missions, hard mode, 300 times damage or some shit... fill the hotel... BOOM but im already so defeated by the white terror in the simulation
You will have to beat 2 white terror in vr mission, good luck😂 I've spent 100hours (after my 1st playtrough and before hard mode) just to max my swiftcast materia and finish the vr mission. Stuck so long at brutal 5 and legendary with zack😂 But finally found an way to beat it with magic build and also make the hard mode become easy peasy😁

I did like 90% of the achievements on my first playthrough (210 hours). All I had left to do was replay it on Hard Mode and the Brutal/Legendary VR fights.
I can do Hard Mode. It's the VR fights I'm never going to do. Spending hours and hours getting insta-killed by weird gimmicks on Round 9 and being forced to do it all over again each time doesn't sound fun or exciting at all.

I gave up getting the platinum for this game I got 55/61 and Im just stuck on the bouts and the chadley hard mode lvl 70 battles thats where I gave up on it all because of those fucking battles I dont usually quit in games getting all the trophies but this one my god I couldn't do it its so freaken hard man I wanted to get platinum for this game but I just couldnt with 6 super hard trophies to get

Exactly! I couldn’t execute a single fucking mishap on any of the chocobo races, the Fort Condor or Slime mini-games, let alone the battle simulators. Otherwise, I’d end up losing & having to restart the battle or mini-game for another 3-20hrs. It too me 3 days to beat Virtual Sephiroth. It was utterly fucking ridiculous.

From my understanding of the ending, both things happen. Cloud does and does not save Aerith, as the timeline splits in this very important moment. Cloud is kind of stuck between the two timelines, as he is shown to have travelled to the alternate timeline with Aerith. I am very curious as to how they are going to resolve this in the final part!
Yeh ok that was my thought cause he was also the only one who could see the rift thing in the sky at the end.

While I appreciate the develop team put so many mini games, sometime i feel they are overdoing it even with simple task like taking a elevator...
Also, a good challenging mini game should be fun, but not frustrated grinding with zero tolerance for mistake... i kinda wish there is option to lower the score requirements for collecting items for some mini games, especially when the item you want is locked behind the challenge you suck the most with controller :P
I think for a lot of people I’ve heard the piano is the worst part but i didn’t struggle to much with it. What about you?
@@ItsRJ_YT depending on the song, Aerith theme and Tifa theme is acutually not too bad since it is already familiarized by FF players, and the keys are not too complicated, but the song with crazy tabs are pretty challenging with the controller for me :(

Just run spawn in Moggle spam spells with magic hp absorbing and damage up then 20 minutes later u can kill the tentacle mind thing
