  • You asked for part 2, so here it is! After getting the leaking cooler lines fixed and the oil changed, I managed to get this thing running well enough to get to the gas station and fill it up with fuel for the first time in years.

    Those transmissions would shift so hard you swear that you hit something or something hit you.
    Dump bed might have run out of fluid before it got all the way up

    That poor old truck could have benefited from some fluid film back in its early days.

    Is it common for a big truck like that to have an automatic transmission?

    Poor truck. Crazy we still havent come up with anything better than salt yet. I really hate ford fuel line connectors compared to GM's version also, just seems unnecessarily complicated

    God I had one of these as my first service truck...same thing...no tac...no ac..and at 31000 pounds absurdly underpowered...I think it made it to 300k before the imt crane dident pass inspection....I was so happy to unload my tools from it.. I would spend 6 days a week in that thing and drove allover California going to job sights...I learned a valuable lesson that is to never shut the truck off on sight because you never knew if it would start up again...twice I spent the night in the cab😡...the only good thing is parts are cheap and plentiful at your local auto parts dealer..it still hauls grapes in the fall for the vineyards in Sonoma county...dont know if it's the same engin tho.. I doubt it....it was pretty shot when I got out of it...I know it's the same truck because of the "learning dents" from the crane hitting the top of the cab...opps...iv got some pictures of it I will show my grandkids..im sure they will think its very primitive...just like we think our grandfathers tools and equipment were primitive

    Loved the videos. I have this motor in an old 2000 GMC 6500 UHaul truck. I built a mobile Escape Room in it and runs really well, except for a slight richness/rumble at idle. It's not passing smog here in CA. Any good tips for quick things to change out/test before I spend thousands at a shop? Ignition control module, etc? thanks

    This was made in my hometown, at the GM Janesville Assembly Plant, we built all the top kick and kodiak from 1990-2002, as well as full size SUVs until 2009 and Isuzu cab overs. I'd love to have one of these trucks. Fun fact, It was built on the shortest truck Assembly line in the world.

      Not really supposed to be holding anything while you're driving, anyways... so what's "good behaviour" in your books ?

    • @Flodu60500
      @Flodu60500 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stan Patterson I have no books, I saw a « stop » sign, meaning complete stop, even if no other vehicle.
      It is as simple as « 1,2,3 »
