This is very similar to Invincible where the our main universe is the only reality in which Mark is a good guy and didn't teamed up with his father in conquering Earth for the Viltrum Empire.

No one is talking about the page with all of the dreams of the people from the prophecy. Dipper hearing his parents arguing is heartbreaking, and could lead to a divorce story, having the twins separated.
This could actually be a good premise for a sequel series. The twins having one last Summer together before their parents divorce would leave room for character development for both Dipper and Mabel as they try to figure out how to navigate life as well as their emotions resulting from this inevitable change.
That could be what they make us think will happen, but ends with a twist of them living together in Gravity Falls permanently instead while their parents go off and do their own things. You know, this kinda supports the theory that they had the twins when they were really young, and they’re facing some challenges. Heck, when Stan is talking about suddenly raising a kid, how do we know he’s not talking about Shermie and his nephew respectively? Another thing that’s bittersweet is Wendy dreams about her mom.
NOW THIS is how you keep an audience interested over ten years after your original show!! I LOVE when creators know their audience and build on their ideas to be more adult bc the original audience are adults now! I’m so excited for anything new to come from gravity falls, I love this team
Fun Fact: In Journal 3, Ford mentioned that he entered a dimension he called "A Better World" dimension as in this world, Ford was able to successfully convince Stan to take Journal 1 away from Gravity Falls and was able to make amends with Mcgucket in order to rewire the portal to avoid the Nightmare Realm Dimension and open to other dimensions (hence why our Ford was able to get in this dimension in the first place). The Ford of the ABW dimension was able to publish his findings and became a celebrity in the scientific community as well as turn his house into an institute of oddology, basically a world where everything worked out in his favor. However, our Ford and the readers never met this dimension's Ford Pines for reasons explained in Journal 3 and the way Stan just took Journal 1, never to be seen again seemed so out of character for him, leading some fans to doubt and become suspicious if this dimension is really a better world. Some fans suggest that Stan had been killed in that dimension and Ford had still been possessed by Bill. This so called "A Better World" dimension might be the reason as to why other Dipper and Mabel variants might go after our Dipper and Mabel in order to take their place, giving us an Into the Spiderverse experience that the Pines Family might have to push through.
Jesus, that idea is so brilliant and makes so much sense. I wish it were canon; maybe it would be revealed to be true in another continuation. I give you prompts for remembering that perfect world and theorizing that perhaps it isn’t as perfect as it seems.

The dream part broke me. Most of the dreams were so upsetting knowing that all of them are in some way still haunted by all of these things in their life. It also said that Mcgucket is so broken that he might never be himself again no matter how hard he tries to the point where Bill said it was painful and not funny painful, real pain. This book really got me
There's something really disturbing about the fact there are other worlds where Dipper and Mable just got killed. I mean, yeah, the series had it's darker moments, but in the end, it was still a kids show. I guess that just means the series is evolving into something more mature, and hey, I'm all here for it.
I feel so sorry for Stan in those, not only has he lost his brother but also his nephew and niece too and how would he even explain too the parents what happened, honestly horrifying to think about

I'm sure if it turned into another season of some sorts, it could be done very well in a 12-episode format if they really wanted to. I agree that a movie would probably be the way to go but they could very well make a great season out of it, too.
I could see a full series, with the last 3 episodes being Multiverseagedon. They could easily start with an episode maybe with Mabel and Dipper dying when they were getting away from the gnomes. This way we have Book 3 that Stan needs, he makes the portal. Have episodes in these alternative worlds before the 3 episode finale where they come to the Prime universe.
When I first bought the hardcover of the book of bill last week, I was immediately fascinated with the art style as I felt it’s a huge callback to the previous first two seasons of the show, I think bill knows that his presence took me into dipper and mables time continuum as a flashback that talks about them facing different versions of themselves and seeing what the future would hold especially for Stan and uncle ford.
Oh I know one! Behind Gnome Queen Mabel is a messy haired Mabel wearing a sweater with hearts on it, meaning it's from Carpet Diem... Which ALSO means it's technically not a Mabel, but a Dipper Variant. A Dipper who, for whatever reason, was never able to swap his body back with Mabel and is now stuck as her. Considering how both of them reacted in the episode and that his search history in the book implies Dipper is still traumatized from it, I imagine this Dipper is a gender dysphoria filled mess who would be VERY pissed about a Dipper who not only got to get a happy ending, but one who kept his body. That would be a bizarre and somewhat dark matchup in a potential revival.

i think that dipper won. Here is what i think : During Dipper's fight with Rumble McSkirmish, he temporarily adopts the game's mechanics. This includes having an HP bar, dealing damage, and taking damage, effectively making him a part of the game's logic. Another fun detail that i saw on Twitter is that in one of the pages of the book The Core from Amphibia makes a cameo! Speaking of Amphibia, i wonder if one of the Dipper and Mabel variants that will show up will be frog variants from Amphibia, since we know there's frog versions of Soos and Stan, it would make sense!
Owl House is canon to both Gravity Falls and Amphibia, so Boiling Isles variants too would be interesting. Rick and Morty is part of the established multiverse, and that’s a show whose lore has a huge multiverse of its own.
Also there were some pages that had hooty and two ciphers that said "titan's blood" and "curse wittebane" and considering he worked on so many of these, seeing different variants would be awesome

I think the shears in the back dipper and psychic mabel are from the same timeline, and that mabel was too late to save dipper but still got ahold of gideon’s amulet. So now, somehow, mabel is keeping dipper alive with the amulet channeling energy through the shears and maybe theyre looking for a second amulet to keep dipper alive through his own means, or even theyre looking for another dipper’s heart to replace shear’s dipper’s
My copy arrived yesterday and i read through it like water. I absolutely love it. I plan on going back two times. 1 to decipher(lol) all the codes and riddles and the second time just to analyze the amazing art work. I haven't been this excited to overanalyze a book since high school. I really really recommend any GF fan to buy the book. It's absolutely worth it
other than a ford with a working portal I can see two other potential starting points for how the alternate versions end up in well lets call it the prime dimension other than ford not getting sucked in and having a working portal. 1) Stan gets the portal up and working again but Dipper and Mabel haven't survived to this point so he tries to find replacements with or without Fords help to replace them to keep that fact from getting out, but he keeps finding versions that also suffered horrific fates. In the end they tie him up and upon finding the prime dimension head there each with their own agenda, perhaps soul Dipper wants to steal prime Dippers body, the blind eye ones see the need to erase all they have learned, maybe gnome Queen Mabel wants to convince his version of her the need to be the gnome queen etc. 2) Bill presumably in many of these versions has won, perhaps this fact has in essence caused the barrier between dimensions to weaken and the alternate dippers and Mabels are either A) the alternate Bill's hit squad sent to kill them with the promise that they can then replace them in the one universe he doesn't control as their reward, I am presuming he having been defeated in that dimension can't enter it himself or fears a direct confrontation with the Pines as a result B) the other versions of Dipper and Mabel are dimensional refugees looking to replace them in this dimension as theirs fell to Bill
I don't think it would be a reference to the candy monster from the shirts because A. There is black stuff on Dippers hat which resembles the tricksters body. And B. Later in the book when it shows Dippers internet history it says "immoral to eat candy monster" and we know that only the trickster was made out of candy so it would make the most sense for the alternate timeline to be about the Summerween Trickster. Also the little candy monster in the short only ate candy, and was only defensive because Dipper was trying to fight him and get his candy back.
Ima be so real, I’m pretty sure the ghost Dipper is actually from the Convenience store episode where he wasn’t able to stop the ghosts and get out alive so the ghosts kept him there as their puppet, cause if it was him in the mindscape, his eyes wouldn’t be completely whited out, not to mention the fact that he looks just like Mabel did when she briefly got possessed by the ghosts

Don't get me wrong the idea of Bill quite literally killing off Dipper and his spirit being so vengeful and unrest is definitely a lot more of a darker turn and it's not out of the question either. But yeah the convenience store one probably makes more sense. The version of Mabel from the convenience store where she is high off her s***is already there it makes more sense that he's the puppet

When Bill Cipher brought up how Dipper and Mabel surviving the events of the series was the only timeline where they survived, I recalled how Mabel met alternate dimension versions of herself, which shows that not every version of Dipper and Mabel outside of the main timeline failed.
Alternative BILLS would make sense since a 2D world existing, means from a 3D perspective multiple 2D worlds exist. Maybe the one showing BILL the truth is a alternative version of himself, that has achieved PHYSICAL FORM. Essentially him being his own bootstrap paradox. where he needs to achieve physical form, in order to reveal it to himself
If there are flaws I can mention in this book, it's that it seems to completely debunk the "King is Bill resurrected for good" assumptions, while the wholly expected crossovers with Amphibia, The Owl House, and more just aren't setting up a Disney Channel Animated Universe/Omniverse yet (yes, a new kind of DCAU/DCAO; sorry, Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, Andrea Romano, and so on)... would have loved seeing small glimpses of the Calamity Trio finally reuniting with their Amphibia pals with Terri's and Mr. X's help, alongside a witch girl couple named the Blight-Nocedas finally starting out a planeswalking adventure of their own accord, willing friends and family included, mostly as a means to get lots and lots of awesome reference material for a book series of their own making (which could become a long-running autobiography that makes up the DCAU/DCAO in an in-universe nutshell). But hey, at least there's a worthy adversary and prison against Bill right now. Will be watching the Axolotl and the Theraprism with great interest in terms of threats like Evil Morty, the Spot, Mr. Mxyzptlk, the Cthulhuian entities, and other countless foes. Addendum: Judging by some comments, am quite fascinated on how the show actually is set in a universe where the protagonists won against Bill Cipher *flawlessly,* with no hard hitting casualties involved. Talk about succeeding where the likes of, say, Puella Magi Madoka Magica failed (as of this writing; who knows if Walpurgisnacht Rising turns the tables for good), in some manner.
Which should lead to a Disney Channel Animated Universe or Omniverse... heh, not even the Batman: The Animated Series to Justice League Unlimited saga that is the DC Animated Universe would have been this big and ambitious, I'll say.
When I was in HS I wrote an entire script for a video I wanted to make that talked about how gravity falls takes place in a shared multiverse with other Disney channel and CN shows.
I wouldn't mind for each episode of the new season to explore all the other timelines, some will be wild, some will be surprising, some will be dark and some will be sad. Bipper is the most interesting one out of all of them if you ask me, imagine the chaos Bill Cipher caused while permanently inheriting Dipper's body like Goku Black.
I told people at Vs Battles wiki that Bill only wanted to re-write the universe, not the whole multiverse. I had a list of evidence and all but they didn't listen to me. Now this shows in an even more clear way the same, with the multiverse being fine even tho Bill won in some universes. I wonder if they will fix that by themselves.

The fact that one or both the twins die in ALL the timelines except for the one weve seen is so insane. Other elements or clues that could work towards the revival are the mindscape dreams. Dippers fear of his parents divorcing coming true, mabel losing waddles, Wendy obsessed with her mother, Pacifica still being haunted/talking to lumberjack ghost. the one that obviously happened was stan fearing his brother trapped in his science fair project aka the portal/remembering he caused stanfords machine to break.
Pretty sure that one of the codes in the book on the witch page that says “curse the wittebanes” haven’t seen any gravity falls characters with the last name writtebane so it could be a refere to the wittebane brothers from toh

While i am excited for the potential timelines of these various dippers and mabels, all i can think about atm is the pair from The Hand That Rocks The Mabel Kinda dark, but I'm picturing something along the lines of either Mabel arriving too late to stop Gideon, or the amulet's magic doesn’t stop the boy's fall fast enough. Then Mabel, potentially goes off the deep end, and [insert events] happens, all she's left with is her brother's horribly injured and/or dead body and the only way she can think to save him. - Using the amulet to esententially puppet him around and hope no one notices (maybe not even Dipper) - or she at least puppets him around enough so they can lead a normal enough life, no one (Stan and them especially) gets in trouble, and Dipper doesnt have to suffer through something like having his spine severed or bleeding out right there on the factory floor.
This begs the question of what different tinelines there are with ford What if he went through with the portal? If bill successfully manipulated him? What if he died before stan could bring him back, or if stan never reopened it? Or if he never got trapped in the portal? If he never had a falling out with stan? He wouldn't had ever even been in gravity falls then. So many things that could of happened before the kids ever went there
Its really dark to think about all the other timelines where Bill could have killed Dipper or ruined his life. There are so many other timelines where everything could have been different in the episodes. Like how Gideon could have actually won against Dipper and taken over the shack for good. OR how Bill would have ended the world after breaking the gravity falls weirdness magnetism shield thingy from Ford.
Having a small fragment of the original episode, or half the original episode followed by what went wrong and why they go after the twins' timeline that succeeded would be amazing. And probably enough material for at least another season on that alone.

No one is talking about the page with all of the dreams of the people from the prophecy. Dipper hearing his parents arguing is heartbreaking, and could lead to a divorce story, having the twins separated.
This could actually be a good premise for a sequel series. The twins having one last Summer together before their parents divorce would leave room for character development for both Dipper and Mabel as they try to figure out how to navigate life as well as their emotions resulting from this inevitable change.
That could be what they make us think will happen, but ends with a twist of them living together in Gravity Falls permanently instead while their parents go off and do their own things.
You know, this kinda supports the theory that they had the twins when they were really young, and they’re facing some challenges. Heck, when Stan is talking about suddenly raising a kid, how do we know he’s not talking about Shermie and his nephew respectively?

Fun Fact: In Journal 3, Ford mentioned that he entered a dimension he called "A Better World" dimension as in this world, Ford was able to successfully convince Stan to take Journal 1 away from Gravity Falls and was able to make amends with Mcgucket in order to rewire the portal to avoid the Nightmare Realm Dimension and open to other dimensions (hence why our Ford was able to get in this dimension in the first place). The Ford of the ABW dimension was able to publish his findings and became a celebrity in the scientific community as well as turn his house into an institute of oddology, basically a world where everything worked out in his favor. However, our Ford and the readers never met this dimension's Ford Pines for reasons explained in Journal 3 and the way Stan just took Journal 1, never to be seen again seemed so out of character for him, leading some fans to doubt and become suspicious if this dimension is really a better world. Some fans suggest that Stan had been killed in that dimension and Ford had still been possessed by Bill. This so called "A Better World" dimension might be the reason as to why other Dipper and Mabel variants might go after our Dipper and Mabel in order to take their place, giving us an Into the Spiderverse experience that the Pines Family might have to push through.
Jesus, that idea is so brilliant and makes so much sense. I wish it were canon; maybe it would be revealed to be true in another continuation. I give you prompts for remembering that perfect world and theorizing that perhaps it isn’t as perfect as it seems.

I can't believe there is still official property being released from this series, and it isn't the kind that ruins the storytelling but grows with it!
The dream part broke me. Most of the dreams were so upsetting knowing that all of them are in some way still haunted by all of these things in their life. It also said that Mcgucket is so broken that he might never be himself again no matter how hard he tries to the point where Bill said it was painful and not funny painful, real pain. This book really got me
There's something really disturbing about the fact there are other worlds where Dipper and Mable just got killed. I mean, yeah, the series had it's darker moments, but in the end, it was still a kids show. I guess that just means the series is evolving into something more mature, and hey, I'm all here for it.
I feel so sorry for Stan in those, not only has he lost his brother but also his nephew and niece too and how would he even explain too the parents what happened, honestly horrifying to think about
Our Dipper and Mabel facing evil versions of themselves would work quite well as a special or movie, but I would definitely not like to see that premise dragged out into a full sequel series.

I could see a full series, with the last 3 episodes being Multiverseagedon. They could easily start with an episode maybe with Mabel and Dipper dying when they were getting away from the gnomes. This way we have Book 3 that Stan needs, he makes the portal. Have episodes in these alternative worlds before the 3 episode finale where they come to the Prime universe.

When I first bought the hardcover of the book of bill last week, I was immediately fascinated with the art style as I felt it’s a huge callback to the previous first two seasons of the show, I think bill knows that his presence took me into dipper and mables time continuum as a flashback that talks about them facing different versions of themselves and seeing what the future would hold especially for Stan and uncle ford.
Oh I know one! Behind Gnome Queen Mabel is a messy haired Mabel wearing a sweater with hearts on it, meaning it's from Carpet Diem... Which ALSO means it's technically not a Mabel, but a Dipper Variant. A Dipper who, for whatever reason, was never able to swap his body back with Mabel and is now stuck as her. Considering how both of them reacted in the episode and that his search history in the book implies Dipper is still traumatized from it, I imagine this Dipper is a gender dysphoria filled mess who would be VERY pissed about a Dipper who not only got to get a happy ending, but one who kept his body.
That would be a bizarre and somewhat dark matchup in a potential revival.
A rival WOULD be amazing but Alex Hirsch has stated that he hated working for Disney so perhaps a sequel to the novels would make more sense

My copy arrived yesterday and i read through it like water. I absolutely love it. I plan on going back two times. 1 to decipher(lol) all the codes and riddles and the second time just to analyze the amazing art work. I haven't been this excited to overanalyze a book since high school. I really really recommend any GF fan to buy the book. It's absolutely worth it

other than a ford with a working portal I can see two other potential starting points for how the alternate versions end up in well lets call it the prime dimension other than ford not getting sucked in and having a working portal.
1) Stan gets the portal up and working again but Dipper and Mabel haven't survived to this point so he tries to find replacements with or without Fords help to replace them to keep that fact from getting out, but he keeps finding versions that also suffered horrific fates. In the end they tie him up and upon finding the prime dimension head there each with their own agenda, perhaps soul Dipper wants to steal prime Dippers body, the blind eye ones see the need to erase all they have learned, maybe gnome Queen Mabel wants to convince his version of her the need to be the gnome queen etc.
2) Bill presumably in many of these versions has won, perhaps this fact has in essence caused the barrier between dimensions to weaken and the alternate dippers and Mabels are either A) the alternate Bill's hit squad sent to kill them with the promise that they can then replace them in the one universe he doesn't control as their reward, I am presuming he having been defeated in that dimension can't enter it himself or fears a direct confrontation with the Pines as a result B) the other versions of Dipper and Mabel are dimensional refugees looking to replace them in this dimension as theirs fell to Bill
I don't think it would be a reference to the candy monster from the shirts because A. There is black stuff on Dippers hat which resembles the tricksters body. And B. Later in the book when it shows Dippers internet history it says "immoral to eat candy monster" and we know that only the trickster was made out of candy so it would make the most sense for the alternate timeline to be about the Summerween Trickster. Also the little candy monster in the short only ate candy, and was only defensive because Dipper was trying to fight him and get his candy back.
It’s just imagining dipper and mable pulling a miles morales and running and dodging these alternate versions of themselves

Don't get me wrong the idea of Bill quite literally killing off Dipper and his spirit being so vengeful and unrest is definitely a lot more of a darker turn and it's not out of the question either. But yeah the convenience store one probably makes more sense. The version of Mabel from the convenience store where she is high off her s***is already there it makes more sense that he's the puppet

When Bill Cipher brought up how Dipper and Mabel surviving the events of the series was the only timeline where they survived, I recalled how Mabel met alternate dimension versions of herself, which shows that not every version of Dipper and Mabel outside of the main timeline failed.
I think it should be a show that each episode is how each one got to this point of misfortune and wanting to replace the nice timeline.
I noticed Mabel as Rainbow Brite. I would be funny to see Mabel dressed as Louise from Bob's Burgers.

If there are flaws I can mention in this book, it's that it seems to completely debunk the "King is Bill resurrected for good" assumptions, while the wholly expected crossovers with Amphibia, The Owl House, and more just aren't setting up a Disney Channel Animated Universe/Omniverse yet (yes, a new kind of DCAU/DCAO; sorry, Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, Andrea Romano, and so on)... would have loved seeing small glimpses of the Calamity Trio finally reuniting with their Amphibia pals with Terri's and Mr. X's help, alongside a witch girl couple named the Blight-Nocedas finally starting out a planeswalking adventure of their own accord, willing friends and family included, mostly as a means to get lots and lots of awesome reference material for a book series of their own making (which could become a long-running autobiography that makes up the DCAU/DCAO in an in-universe nutshell).
But hey, at least there's a worthy adversary and prison against Bill right now. Will be watching the Axolotl and the Theraprism with great interest in terms of threats like Evil Morty, the Spot, Mr. Mxyzptlk, the Cthulhuian entities, and other countless foes.
Addendum: Judging by some comments, am quite fascinated on how the show actually is set in a universe where the protagonists won against Bill Cipher *flawlessly,* with no hard hitting casualties involved. Talk about succeeding where the likes of, say, Puella Magi Madoka Magica failed (as of this writing; who knows if Walpurgisnacht Rising turns the tables for good), in some manner.
We hope this multiverse also involves other Disney shows and movies

Other elements or clues that could work towards the revival are the mindscape dreams. Dippers fear of his parents divorcing coming true, mabel losing waddles, Wendy obsessed with her mother, Pacifica still being haunted/talking to lumberjack ghost. the one that obviously happened was stan fearing his brother trapped in his science fair project aka the portal/remembering he caused stanfords machine to break.
I'd give anything for a Gravity Falls Amphibia Owl House crossover sequel series. You should make a video on the potential for one.

Kinda dark, but I'm picturing something along the lines of either Mabel arriving too late to stop Gideon, or the amulet's magic doesn’t stop the boy's fall fast enough. Then Mabel, potentially goes off the deep end, and [insert events] happens, all she's left with is her brother's horribly injured and/or dead body and the only way she can think to save him. - Using the amulet to esententially puppet him around and hope no one notices (maybe not even Dipper) - or she at least puppets him around enough so they can lead a normal enough life, no one (Stan and them especially) gets in trouble, and Dipper doesnt have to suffer through something like having his spine severed or bleeding out right there on the factory floor.

What if he went through with the portal? If bill successfully manipulated him? What if he died before stan could bring him back, or if stan never reopened it? Or if he never got trapped in the portal? If he never had a falling out with stan? He wouldn't had ever even been in gravity falls then. So many things that could of happened before the kids ever went there
Imagine we see Reverse Falls. That would be crazy, especially if they're some kind of overarching villains.
I've always liked the idea of Mabel and Bill having a dynamic

i would love a sequel to lost legends where we take a tour with bill to all the universes where these variants come from

Its really dark to think about all the other timelines where Bill could have killed Dipper or ruined his life. There are so many other timelines where everything could have been different in the episodes. Like how Gideon could have actually won against Dipper and taken over the shack for good. OR how Bill would have ended the world after breaking the gravity falls weirdness magnetism shield thingy from Ford.
Having a small fragment of the original episode, or half the original episode followed by what went wrong and why they go after the twins' timeline that succeeded would be amazing. And probably enough material for at least another season on that alone.
I honestly hoping for a journal 1,2, or 4. The journal 3 outtakes in this book were incredible, and I’d like to have more of it. Specifically journal 4 with Fords journey before returning
