I really dig the edit and the song, especially. It’s like a joyous celebratory song with the message is funny. How can I get through to you. Great stuff, man and rad Skating. Happy you found Nirvana with the X 97 wheels.
So good to see the happiness! I’m definitely glad that both the X97s and 93s are out. Definitely my new go to wheels. I’m feeling totally over any little wheel madness I might have had.
Steve tell us why the X97 is so much better than SFF4 93A (which isn't even 93A or doesn't ride like a 93A more like SFF4 97A rebranded and is 1.5 years late to the hybrid wheel market)? How much of a difference between X97 and X99? Like I said before if George Powell was able to come out with the X97/Dragon formula back in the 80s when there were no smooth skate parks everywhere it would have been the most sold and successful skate wheel ever.
I had a bad case of wheel madness late last year, but also ended up back on the X97s. My first X97s were almost perfect, but I would lose a lot of speed with the V1 shape. My current shape is the V4 on 53mm. They're perfect. I also skate PNW red curbs on shitty asphalt lol
Three weeks ago Steve stated: "im not giving up yet lol. i dont blame the wheels. it was all me" No, Steve. The right wheels make all the difference. Going from stressed and struggling to pleased as punch is a huge difference. Anybody looking for all-purpose street wheels, look no further. Bones X97 is your answer. :)
I’ve been in x97 for the last year, and x99 will be my next set. Skated dragons in 2022. I agree that x formula is the best wheels. Bones does not have the marketing power that spitfire has, but bones leads in wheel and bearings without a doubt. Side note I’m on a flight deck and it is also amazing.
Hey thanks Sticker! I live in Owensboro KY and the streets here are GARBAGE!!! Some sections are still old pea gravel and cement. At 48 just returning to skateboarding after 30 years, I don't wanna push any more than necessary. Gonna give these a shot. Riding OJ 3 Team riders on my Dressen crew one deck. I like em, but not for distance trips.
@@stickersteve007 I just hope my Santa Cruz deck doesn't burst into flames from rolling on an old school rival's product! I'll just send Eric Dressen an apology email!😆🤣
th-cam.com/users/shorts5m5do99W1DU?si=V7lAvLY0YaEACyrK - my short about the soft sliders missing a chunk after only 2-3 sessions - no issues like this with the X formula or the nano cubics. strike against the spitfires for sure
That has already been proven by Braille and I have exact experience as well that currently the Dragon formula X97/X99 are the most durable skate wheel formula. Spitfire F4 formula is like 2nd or 3rd behind it and maybe Bones SPF and yes SFF4 chunks.
I love dragon but on a smooth skatepark that wheel like cruiser wheel. 3 weeks ago I bought x97. It's a game changer. If you only skate street, dragon is the best pick. If you skate both get x97
Yeah, just the pebble and twigs not being nearly as scary is enough of a reason to skate them. They were fine in skateparks too, especially ones that are not brand new and prestine.
Never liked Spitfires. I've tried them a half a dozen times over 30 years and they always chunk out. Those Soft Sliders were bullshit, skated them 2 weeks and gave them away. Powell or OJ's (also occasionally Ricta) for me.
Can't really disagree. I love the X97. However I like the X99 even more. I'm just a Bones guy. It is who I am as a person. (I am a skatepark guy 😂, I don't want to be. South East North Carolina is not known for your curbs and spots)
powell has the wheel game all locked up as far as im concerned. i got the nano cubic 56mm 97a and slappys are way easier. they are noticeably faster than my dragons too
Would u ever delite a comment that was left from a comment to a comment? I know this sound weird but i would like to know if you or you tube did it. Man i hope it was ut if not my hart is broken. Thank u for ur time
6:24 THIS ^ I actually like the soft sliders in a lot of ways … for example: in an apples to apples test on a very crusty street spot, the soft sliders are not as fast as dragons but they ARE a bit faster/smoother than the X formula - however, I have both shapes (radial and classic) and the classics had a decent chunk ripped out within 2-3 sessions ‼️🤦🏻♂️ (I posted a short about it if you want to see) -I’ve also skated the x97s for WAY longer under the same conditions / in same spots too and they have NEVER had any chunks come off so they WEAR better for sure !! so anyway - you’re 100% right about that is my point ! 😆🤙🏼🛹 ps rad sessions I gotta get that shove out of the noseslide 🔥
I can’t believe it’s been like two years already since those X 97 wheels came out. Time is definitely flying.
Yeah crazy
I really dig the edit and the song, especially. It’s like a joyous celebratory song with the message is funny. How can I get through to you. Great stuff, man and rad Skating. Happy you found Nirvana with the X 97 wheels.
Thanks dude! I really need to just stick with what I know I like, but curiosity always gets the best of me lol
Agreed 💯%. The x97 are the best for around my area, very rough around here.. (east coast street spots)
They're just the best option in my opinion
FAKE 93A SFF4 won't hack it there LMAO.
On my second pair of the x97 and I am absolutely loving how good they slide and how smooth they feel.
Right on. They really are great wheels
So good to see the happiness! I’m definitely glad that both the X97s and 93s are out. Definitely my new go to wheels. I’m feeling totally over any little wheel madness I might have had.

They just overall feel better to me. I like the shape more, and I don't really care for the manipulative marketing from spitfire
@@stickersteve007right lol the feel is everything. X97 #1 for street and Dragons for anything rougher. V6 shape is my fav.
Are the 97A AA Nano Cubics the same formula or are they the Dragon urethane?
AA Nano Cubics are the same as X97 aka Dragon formula in 97A instead of the Original Dragon formula that's 93A.
Yup. Same formula. I have those wheels, and they feel the exact same
Excellent video. Perfect song too
Thanks dude. appreciate it!
Are those the v5 or v6 cut? They look a little wider.
V5 sidecut
They make wide versions of V5 and V6.

X99's are also great wheels! And I agree about the marketing. Also they don't have the "cool/core" appeal.
My favorite feeling wheel. Wish they had em in all shapes everywhere. I need the v1.
Dang they don't have the v1?
@@stickersteve007 I see it on the site but no option to buy. Seen it again on some mom and pop shop site, but I don’t trust it.
have you tried the dragons 97 duro?
Powell and Bones use the same formula, so yes. it's my favorite formula. currently on the Powell Peralta Nano Rats 97's. My new favorite wheel
Most chill intro ever
Thanks dude! That was the goal. Keep it chill

X99's are awesome as well. I will probably skate those again too
I’m still on the dragons for now. But curious about the X97’s.
I love em. Dragons are great as well. Just too soft feeling for me

Just got a set I didn't like the soft sliders these are the best
It's official! What did you now like about the soft sliders?
I can only agree... my number one wheel 💯%
It's just good all around
X97s If I had to choose one wheel
Same here. Best all around wheel
Im back on the x97 formula because of you man and cant agree more. Great wheels even for a lame skatepark loser like myself!! 🤙
They seem to do fine at the skatepark as well.
Why Andy Anderson pick the X97 97A for his own nano cubics, it's the best all around formula and duro..
what’s the song name?
I'll have to look and get back to ya. It's from epidemic sound
