    If your over full , you are likely causing extra crankcase pressure. Better a shade low then over full.

    • @jimdent351
      @jimdent351 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, an overfilled crankcase doesn't lubricate as well because the oil's ability to splash around is more restricted. He's got at least 6 ounces too much oil in that thing which is bad. I once overfilled mine by accident by 4 ounces and the oil didn't run out as quickly. I'm guessing the engine damage he has is because of an overfilled crankcase all the time.

  • @jimdent351
    @jimdent351 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That crankcase is overfilled by a lot. Don't do it. An overfilled engine is far worse than one that doesn't have quite enough. Oil needs to splash around to land in the places that need lubricating. An overfilled engine will not splash properly.

    I have and have had the 3000is for a couple of decades. It requires the oil level be right at the bottom of the fill location. So, when filling you kinda have to see that area to know when it's full. If that red tube were clear/glass I'd say what a great idea.
    I find placing a rag below the fill area takes care of any minor spillage...

    Excellent quality and works great as an alternate power source for my Winnebago RV when shore power is not available. Also great for Florida storm season and our fluctuating power. On propane, this starts up easily and no messy gas to deal with, very clean and easy to operate. Build quality is better than expected should last for years.

    Watch the video showing the damage caused when the magnet falls out of that cheap Chinese dipstick. They're pressed in, when the aluminum heats up it expands, losing the magnet that destroys the plastic oil slinger in the crankcase. Nice $450 fix.

    A Snapple 16oz bottle fits over the oil extension tube giving a no-spill way to completely drain oil. Screw cap back on and you can't knock it over either.

    Very cool stuff, I found I could make my own oil drain tube with about a 3 inches of 1/2" copper or other pipe with masking tape wrapped around the pipe to bring it up to the right diameter, you will need to play with the amount of tape to get the right thickness. Once done you can screw the 3 inch tube in to drain the oil. works well in a pinch!

      If you want this gas cap for free I'll give it to you. it didn't work for me. Not a good grip on the threads of the end of the gas tank. It will pop loose and stop siphoning gas from your secondary tank. Also the gasket that they give you with the cap will not hold up to gasoline. Absorbance cash expands and then tears extremely easy. What are the dimensions of the oil screw and the thread of the tank on your Hondas?
    None of the suppliers specify the dimensions of the threads of the oil screw and especially the tank cap.
    I have a Zipper ZI-STE2000IV, this is supposed to be a clone of the Honda EU2000i.
    And I want to know if this set also fits on my generator.
    The thread of the oil screw has an outside diameter of 17.24mm, 0.68",
    the thread of the tank has an outside diameter of 45.9mm, 1.81".
    the gas cap is 43.3 mm, 1.705" inside.
    On the new EU2200i, the thread of the oil screw has been significantly enlarged. So be careful which set you buy.

So spending $2,000 plus tax sounds like a lot of money compared to $800. Many of the used ones don't have that much use and I'm just wondering how reliable they will be when already used.
