What will happen when you race an Audi R8 against an Audi RS3 and an Audi RSQ8? You think it would be a walkover for the R8, right?
Well, don’t be so sure! You see, we’ve brought in a tuned RS3 & RSQ8 and we’re about to see if the extra work on their engines is enough to bring down an R8!
So let’s see how they all compare. Starting with the RS3, it’s still packing the usual 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbo petrol, however, following a tune, it’s now able to produce 550hp and 730Nm of torque! As for the RSQ8, it’s equipped with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can now put down 710hp! We’re not sure what the torque figure is, but we estimate it to be 900Nm.
So do these two cars have what it takes to bring down the R8 V10 Performance Spyder? After all, its 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 is an absolute weapon, that has no problem producing 620hp and 580Nm!

To be fair, the R8 only sounds like shit because of the soft limiter and the valves opening and closing. It does sound pretty good under load.
R8 sounds much better than any rs3 if it had no limiter and an exhaust like the rs3
Only if you rev your engine at a standstill like a Chimpanzee.
Engines sound infinitely better when you rev them out when the car is actually moving. I honestly dont see what the problem is with soft limiters. It stops retards blowing up their engines and then complaining that X car brand is unreliable.
Does anybody remember how many people would simply rev the shit out of the mclaren 600lt because they wanted to see flames popping out of the exhausts? Yes, soft limiters ARE a good idea.
The RS3 will never, ever, EVER sound better than 10 naturally aspirated cylinders at 8400 RPM. Or at any engine speed.

RS3 Vs RSQ8 really shows the importance of power to weight. The RS3 drops it even though it has way less power.
Aerodynamics too, at higher speeds when power is more important than weight, the RS3 still pulls ahead. That said, it would be fair for a stage 2 car to race a stage 2 car, the RSQ8 could probably squeeze another 50hp out of it to make it a little more fair

The RS3 8V restyling it is the coolest hothatch ever made, now i drive younger sister S3 8v restyled but i will upgrade to Rs3 shortly
With Stage 3 Turbo upgrade it can be an unstoppable car for sure.

Wrong, the R8 is to old now (and way over priced), the rs3 is always driven by 23yr old drug dealers and burglars, while any rs suv are all owned by gym addicts with really stupid tattoos and full of steroids.

I can't tell either car distances from my angle are unpossible. Speaking of brakes i have this idea to buy brand new disks if you have old ones or get brand new car and regulate brake fluid around the line mark they had that option about engine cleaning at the car wash so I did that often and for limited period of time your car runs smoother

Just a little correction. The ECU map does not remove the soft limiter. The RS3 has a TCU remap as well, for the transmission, which is what removes that soft limiter.

I would just like to point something I've noticed out over a couple years of watching this show. when you do a rolling race and all the cars are in the same gear it isn't usually an even race at all considering the cars all have different gear ratios. I would rather see the rolling races done at the same speed but in whatever gear works best for each car. just my opinion and suggestion. love the show!

The R8 won all the races including the brake test. He was screwing around on that one race he supposedly lost. There is no way the R8 would lose that race under normal circumstances. 😁👍✌

another way to supass rev limiter is to put the gear between neutral and reverse ensure that on the screen it doesnt show which gear your in

This was an awesome drag race. The sound of the Audi R8 Motor is impressive :)
1:27 it s heavy because it's a cabrio version of R8 which means that require more stifness chassis and structure due to the lack of hard roof and so extra weigh compare to an R8 with no foldable roof
I sat the RS3 won the brake contest. I love my 2019 RS3, Too bad we can't get the 2022 RS3 here in Canada as it is no longer available.

Nice sound but It only beats the R8 when stationary because of the sof limiter delete.. Once the 5.2 is into revs can't beat the laws of physics/sound.

I had RS3 with 520bhp, and I was able to do 10.8 - 11.0 1/4mile time.
His grile should be open to allow this intercooler to work. Probably car has high IATs and reducing power...

These soft limiters are a shame as Audis without them sound so good, especially that big NA V10
Big fan of factory power. I used to have a tuner WRX, but if you can get the power straight from the factory, that is the way to go. I see all these cars tuned to high heaven but often when raced don't live up to the hype. Not to mention the voiding of warranties, propensity to break, etc. I get it, tuning cars is fun, but I will take factory power and reliability any day.

Even my 2011 VW scirocco had a soft limiter so obviously when I tuned it that was removed sounds allot better.
