Jamie when they run it back you need to make them swap lanes helps keep it fair... from the drone shot you can see there is more bumps on the right lane which will result in more pooling of water from the rain.....I think the results would still have been the same on this og battle

While I don't like the steering feel or outright grip of my Michelin PS4S on my 911, the wet and cold grip of them is radically better than the Pirelli P-Zero N1 tires that I like so much in dry, warm conditions. Being in Canada, the PS4S let me drive with more grip probably 3 cooler months of the year than I'd have with the P-Zeros.
This shows us that tyres means everything especially in wet with high power , that r8 was like a sitting duck compared to rs3, a dry track would be nice too see what happends.
Surely it’s got a lot to do with the traction control strategies on those standalones as well! The RS3 has a shit load more data from being active on the strip the last 18 months compared to the r8! Don’t overlook that

RS3 is such a killer platform, I love that they sound literally like you cut the 5.2 V10 in half. England weather is such a bummer though, would be nice to see these run in warmer temps on a dry surface. You know when a TT R8 is doing a 4 sec 0-60 it's just too wet
The R8 has the overall superior 4wd system (rwd based) which in dry should be a plus but what makes it great in the dry makes it worse in the wet. The RS has the completely opposite 4wd system (fwd based) which allowed him to keep the foot down. Having said this , i still think the RS will win even in dry.
My first Audi was a 1977 Audi Fox (100), bought from owner of VW garage (had headers & shift kit, not sure what else). I trashed a Chevy Nova (350) with it, wasn't even close. A 1.6 liter 4 cylinder creamed my American 5.0 v8. I went the next day & traded it in for a brand new VW Jetta. , which I sold with over 400k miles on it. VW group & Mercedes make the best daily cars in my opinion.
Shows what a difference tyres make! P Zeros offer fuck all grip in these conditions, I'm surprised the owner has fitted them to the R8. They are useless here in the UK. An absolute night and day difference in comparison to the PS4S, they are the gold standard in UHP for daily drivers, especially in the wet. They also do well on track too. Fair play to them both for giving it all despite the conditions.

That steering wheel looks maaaad. Another great video both cars are insane and hats off to the drivers, who drove in these wet conditions. Me personally I would go for the rs3 as it is an all rounder. I think the tyres played a big part in this. Cant wait to see it dry conditions 👍🏾
