On my only trip to DisneyWorld I think I might have stayed in the same room you were in close to the bridge. The whole visit impressed me in a new way every 5 minutes but the most impressive thing was the painting in the headboard of the 1830s style sleigh bed. The building in the oval shaped historic painting embedded in the headboard was the very same as the building I was in. Disney is careful with details, they had some artist do a period style painting of this particular "plantation" structure and use it when they made the furniture. It was wonderful. Took the boat ride to Disney Springs, took the bus to other attractions. And back when I was there, free transportation direct from the airport to my hotel lobby was appreciated. Not sure they have that anymore. If I return, I'd stay there again.
Very informative video. Thank you 😊 we're hopefully staying here in September next year. What I also like about riverside is that if you get bored, you can go over to the French Quarter.
I am shook that someone else calls their Matthew “Maffoo”! We’re staying at Riverside in a few months, so thanks for helping me get even more excited. 😍
The resort looks absolutely beautiful. I'd be more than happy just spending my time chilling in the resort exploring it. The room looked brilliant. Good to see that the air con was working, me and the other half love having a room like an ice box. The food looked lush, I can just taste the cherry danish right now. And the meals looked brilliant. I could probably spend the day in the shop to the point I'd annoy the other half and he would be having to drag me out of the shop.
Thank you for sharing. You are so fun. I am sad because unfortunately our trip had to be switched from French quarter (which I loved) to riverside. You have made me more excited to give riverside an appropriate chance.
With the Dining Plan returning in a couple of days… the refillable mugs are included in the cost of the dining plan. I was in Magnolia Bend on the other side of the quiet pool, with a pool view room. I use a scooter at WDW because with the heat & humidity, I need the support of the scooter at times. I like Magnolia Bend and the building I was in because it is quite close to the North bus stop (2nd of the 4 internal stops) and it is almost directly opposite to the lobby & dining options (slight detour around the curve of the pool). I’ve stayed there twice and will be there again in July. I am an Annual Passholder from Australia. So I will be getting the Quick Service dining plan with my stay & will use my AP discount for any table service meals I may have.
Great video Jamie, I've got such happy memories of our times spent at Port Orleans and Riverside. I think our last stay was at least 15 years ago but it still looks the same apart from that strange curtain. I particularly liked being able go to Disney Springs by boat and to stroll along the river.
Your tour was awesome! We are staying there soon and really didn’t know much about it. You answered all my questions going around in my head. Thank you!!!
I prefer the pool at Riverside and there’s also more choice of food there. The River Roost bar is also great fun. It’s an easy walk to FQ for a change of scene if you want it
POR and FQ are the only resorts that allow you to pool hop between the two resorts at any time. You can’t pool hop at any other resorts. FQ has a much smaller dining hall. But FQ does have Beignets… so there is that as the plus. FQ pool is great for little children, but it is closed until sometime in April for refurbishment at the moment. All Disney pools are heated to 26C year round.

Ha! Ok so it sounds like this resort would definitely work for you in that case 😂

Oh I’m so pleased you watched if the vlog has made you give Riverside a chance! And French quarter never too far ❤️

Which do you prefer: Riverside or French Quarter? Trying to choose for next year.
