As a kid I had a huge fear of sharks getting in the deep end too, there's a name for it. I love the video, definitely helps because I've been looking to stay there with the family. Thank y'all for all you do 🎉
yes Molly I agree are used to have panic attacks in a pool or a lake thinking a shark could be in there!

Here to say I was CERTAIN there was a great white shark in every deep end of every pool I went in until I was smart enough to know it was physically impossible 😅 you are not alone Molly!
My girlfriend and I love this hotel...its beautiful and bc its small, you always feel relaxed and stress-free
French quarter is my favorite place to stay at Disney. I love that it is small with one bus stop and great boat ride to Disney springs. Love it!

Beignets are definitely different than a donut.
Beignets done right have a slightly different texture and weight (yes, they don’t taste as heavy and they don’t weigh as much) than a donut.
That’s because their ingredients are slightly different. They have more eggs and more yeast.
That makes them lighter, puffier and with a middle that has a doughy bounce.
Thanks for reminding me of the goodness of having the powdered sugar on (and all around) them.
And I agree - savory might be nice but the classic is best!

I'm staying there on my next trip. This video just cements that it was the right choice to book this one. I'm even more excited now. Beignets! Yum!
I totally agree about Scat Cat’s lounge! We went in December and really enjoyed the drinks food and entertainment!
I usually have my cocktails while fishing. Makes the fishing more enjoyable.

Loved staying at Port Orleans in January. Loved how everything was close together and transportation was great. Took the boat to Disney Springs a few times and it was so relaxing.
Definitely our favorite Disney resort where we have stayed. Fun, smaller size is nice, bus station is easy and the boats are a fun change to get to Disney Springs.
YES!!! There was a great white shark in the deep end of the pool and you would have to swim as fast as you could to the steps in the shallow end to escape it from chasing you.
Extra terrifying because my grandparents had a black bottom pool. 😩
Yikes! A black bottom pool?! Anything could be down there..... just kidding lol
We stayed at French Quarter back in September. We had a river view in Building 1. Loved it!! We got beignets twice - so delish!!

Port Orleans FQ looks like such a fun resort! The theming just makes it look like a great time. Getting a Mammoth spin on resorts we know and love has been so delightful and I can’t wait to see what other resorts are highlighted in this series.

Love PO:FQ last summer. French dip was pretty tasty! We didn't have any of the beignets (which I usually love) because I could smell the spent oil (meaning they needed to change out their frying oil). Loved our room and the hotel grounds. We had a river-view room on the 3rd floor.

It’s been decades but I finally have validation about my fear of sharks in the pool! I could never be the last one out of the pool because I knew Bruce was coming for me.
As a Louisiana native, I can definitely validate Molly’s love of beignets! There is just something about them that doughnuts can’t touch.
I thought the strawberry sauce was disgusting. I was expecting it to be a "creamy-type" texture, but instead was all chunky-like. It was gross.
The chocolate ganache (or whatever it's called) was good though.
Molly I 1000% thought there were sharks in the deep end and I went through a phase where I was convinced one could come up through the tub drain. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Port Orleans is my favorite. Low key and very pretty. I do miss the themed bedding and hope they bring that back soon.
Last time we were in Disney my 5 year old and I went from art of animation to French quarter just for the Beignets! I am unfortunately very strictly gluten free and theirs are legendary in the gf community! I was so so happy to finally get to try them!

French Quarter is one of my favourite resorts. I love how small and beautiful it is. I don't know that I could justify the cost now (I haven't stayed there for about ten years!) - like you say, you can save money at a value, or splurge a bit to get the deluxe benefits.

We stayed at Riverside over Christmas, very nice location with unique food options. We did eat a quick lunch and beignets over at French Quarter.

Stayed in a Princess Room at Riverside and took the boat for a devine morning at French Quarter. If you have a car these resorts are great because the parking is VERY close to the rooms
You are definitely not alone with the Great White in the swimming pool! I’m 49 and still will not swim alone knowing there is no way that a great white is in my pool. However, let me step a toe in an empty swimming pool and I hear the Jaws theme composition!
It's totally no a weird fear Molly! Had that worry every time I got into a pool as a kid. lol

Fishing montage... omg they are passing the castle, wow what great views, dang there is the monorail and Alan is actually fishing... What the HELLO DOLLY - Molly caught a fish???? Held a fish is impressive but did she catch it? OK back to the hotel....
Definitely would catch the “lane divider” in the deep end of the pool and have a moment of - what’s that?!? My six year old son swims extra fast in the deep end as well.

Not a weird fear Molly! 14:04 I too had the same fear as a kid of a shark in the pool, apparently its tied to feeling alone, in the dark and there's the unknown and at any moment danger could strike and you'd be unprepared, so it's actually tied to those issues in this case and not the actual shark fear most likely.
Oh, come on Molly you can wear the Mickey beignet shirt with the ears to Magic Kingdom, when Tianas Bayou adventure opens!!! They are so cute 🥰
Haha! My sister thinks there are sharks in the swimming pool, hot tub, and regular household bathtub. She's 36. This is definitely a real thing!

Yes Molly! I had a dream of being attacked by a shark in the pool when I was younger 🦈 I also thought you couldn't go near the cage at the end of the wave pool because that's where they kept the sharks. 😂

Y’all really need to come to New Orleans and do a beignet comparison. Oh a if you come I will show you how to peel and eat a crawfish. I have leagued at every video where you give it the old collage try on crawfish.
I was terrified of a pool sweep that was in my grandpa's pool. It sat at the bottom of the deep end of the pool & when grandpa turned it on, it would do it's rounds....kinda like a Roomba, but for the pool. Anyway, scared the bleep outta me.

FQ is one of the few resorts I have not stayed at, I've stayed at POR and walked over there. I looked it up, the difference in a donut and a beignet is the texture. Beignets use more yeast and less eggs so they are not as dense as a donut.
My daughter is 6 and thinks the same thing about pools and sharks 😂 it's great 😅

When I've done my trips to Orlando, I usually try to schedule a visit to French Quarter for gluten free beignets and then take the boat to Disney Springs.
As a FL kid I had a completely unrealistic, but still strong, fear that an alligator would be in the pool. Also, I was so afraid of sharks I almost never went in the ocean.

What a GREAT idea to ask them to use un-sweet tea. I'm often tempted to try the Disney drinks of the menu but they're generally 98% too sweet for me. I think they should have a page in their menu for drinks made with fresh fruit, flavored or unflavored seltzer and alcohol---I'd be such a fan!
Port Orleans French Quarter is definitely a lovely resort, I hope I get to stay there one day. Could you do some videos on Disney Good Neighbour Hotels? Also the resorts and hotels in the Bonnet Creek area and Lake Buena Vista area and weigh up the pros and cons? If there are any.
They’ve also rolled out the smart tvs to animal kingdom lodge as of mid-December (but i will say it didn’t want to connect to my iPhone at all)

Hi Molly, great video, love your channel. If you do a staycation at P.O. Riverside, could you stay in a Royal room? The pictures online look so vibrant but Im wondering if they look as great IRL I think it would be magical to place princess costumes on the beds for my daughters to see upon first entering the room and then visit BB Boutique the next morning in MK, for a fun Princess themed trip.
