Nice to have you back on TH-cam Martin. Please don’t change your video style. We are all here watching because we love it. And please don’t leave us again for so long. No one knew what happened to you....
Thanks Michael. It if you watch the T4D I posted a few weeks ago, I give a run down of what's happened this last year. Cheers, Martin. th-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=PEmA8T3zb-U
mjlorton yes, i saw this T4D and I am happy to know what happened. I found your channel about a year ago and than watched trough about 90% of your videos from oldest to newest. Took me about half a year (I have a lot of time to watch while traveling to work every day). So I started watching at about the time you posted your last oscilloscope giveaway video. And than wondered to hear nothing from you. Waited until you got 10k views on the video and so on. I highly appreciate your great work which was very helpful for a hobbyist like me.
Martin's back with another DMM review, life is good. Great review as always Martin I did a little digging and I found a site that sells this meter. A bit pricey but that is to be expected for what you get in that meter. What was under the battery, was that a Micro USB port I saw. Well glad to see you back at it, and don't ever leave us alone again. At least while you know who, is running you know what. *Cheers* *73*
Thanks good man and thanks for the info. I think that micro USB port might be for programming the unit. It does not give any access when just connected to a PC.
Have you recorded a video on checking and testing a used multimeter? Fluke multimeters are very expensive new and I was looking to pickup a clean 87 for general electronics use.
Hi Todd. Here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018LQVIA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000J4FONU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hi Martin, good to see ya back in the saddle. Bro, are you going to ask Pace for a demo of that new ADS200 station? TEquipment's selling them like hot-cakes at $219 and this is certain to be a JBC game-changer. I think the Pace factory is about a two-hour drive away from your new digs. It would be nice to see you take a camera in to show-off the production line.
Nice to see you again :), but when it comes to basic multimeter functionalities (apart from its IR camera), it's pretty mediocre, only 6000 counts, very slow continuity test, not much precision and etc... Consider the longevity of the battery as well. Why not take it aport so we can see how much safe it is?
Hello SuperMan. This is Mafalda from China, I work in CEM. Do you want to buy this meter? May by I can help you. I definitely can provide competitive price and good after-sales service. My mailbox: mafalda@cem-instruments.com
Honestly, I think it's ridiculous not that NIMH AAs still exist and are being used but that they're still the standard battery for products with removable batteries and if people wanted to keep the formfactor then 14500 batteries are a thing.
While I like the texture and feel of silicone leads, I have had A LOT of the Fluke silicone leads and they DO NOT last if you use them every day. They are some of the most frustrating leads to work with for the simple fact you can't trust them. The regular leads that come with the meters last the best.
Will he ever finish his power supply project? I gave up on him but he should at least say he will never finish it for whatever reason.. When I just think how long I've waited for it... Idiot..
Javier Palla Lorden 9yrs old? That's nice. I know there are many projects but he explains stuff really good (even though he is acquired taste and I didn't really acquired that taste yet (sometimes I watch him sped up cause he talks slowly) and I know he will do a good job making it and more importantly explaining it. I'm actually just hating in previous comment :) in hope that he will make a separate video dedicated to reasons of abandoning a project. I think, at the time, he got the most views from his educational videos, not his solar equipment or damnit thermal camera reviews. How many people buys thermal camera??? At least that was before. I didn't check the views recently...
this video reminds me of the first videos of your channel in in South Africa. Nice to see you again!!
Thanks good man! It's good to be making videos again.
Nice to have you back on TH-cam Martin. Please don’t change your video style. We are all here watching because we love it. And please don’t leave us again for so long. No one knew what happened to you....
Ya don't leave us, I'm tired of crying.

Well, I've missed your in-dept and honest reviews. About time... Welcome back!

Thanks Roland.
Nice to see you back :)

Any news on when, where to buy & price of this unit?
Yes, you’re back! Nice meter. Excellent display. Do not like the grey colour though.
What color do you like? If you want to buy in batch, we can do customized color and design.
Martin, great review. BTW, did you notice the picture of the units are DIFFERENT on the two links you gave above? (same model numbers)
Thanks Douglas. Yes, I did notice that, not sure what's up with that.Communication with the folks that gave it to me has been a challenge.
Nice. How much does it cost?
milorton, hello? How much and where can I buy?

Is that a garden shed you're in?
Welcome back!! You have a bit of a hollow echo now. Do you have any plans to augment your acoustics in there?
mjlorton, you don't reply people asking questions?
That meter is not on Amazon or Ebay . Where did you buy it ?

Hi. I just bought a Southwire 15190T but I keep it in mind.
Where to buy & how much, please?
Devices should use 18650 cells where easily possible. Cheap and state of the art.
I concur.
Totally agree with using 18650 in these kind of power hungry devices.
Honestly, I think it's ridiculous not that NIMH AAs still exist and are being used but that they're still the standard battery for products with removable batteries and if people wanted to keep the formfactor then 14500 batteries are a thing.
If you could get a unit of Dave's(EEVBlog) BM235 Multimeter, it would be interesting if you could make a review of it ;)
Nice to c u back m8, gr8 video. 👍like
welcome back. you still in RSA? hope you are well

You're back!!!!?
It's a good video but it would have been nice to see a circuit board running to see hot spots on it.
Very good review.
Hah! Classic video :) popcorn time!
The meter is just average and a bit slow, but the display update rate on the thermal camera is just spectacular! 50FPS!
wow, haven't heard from you in a while
Spec sheet says it is IP67 rated.
What is the value of this video if you can't name a price or sales address?
A comparison with other meters is not possible this way.
You can find the DT-9889 at www.cem-instruments.in/category.php?cat=Multimeter%20with%20Thermal%20Imager

I have build my first power supply when I was 9 years old. Just do a google search and you will have 100.000 examples. Good luck and happy tinkering.

6000 counts too low
