      @maxperaza8264 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is true that it’s still a Raiders city right now but this will change as the years go on. Specially if the Raiders continue to suck and the Rams continue being good. As of this writing, the Raiders are arguably the worst team in the NFL and the Rams are the best team in the NFL. If this holds up for the next few years, the older LA Raiders fan base will eventually fade away and the younger millennial Rams fans will take over.

    at first I was like, "yeah that's kind of a good point especially with the cities paying most sports stadiums." then it turned into a low key "grubhub" and "blue apron" ad and I was like. "wait, is this about having too many things to do in a city or about all these services taking away the reasons we go out?" he kind of made both points but they both contradicted each other a little bit. the NFL doesn't care about anything but revenue and free stadium deals. L.A. has two baseball teams, two basketball teams a hockey team a soccer team. sports is obviously a big enough deal there. so why not add a football team again. if they were smart theyd change the franchise name so they could sell all new merchandise and make even more money. (assuming the rams or raiders move.)

  • @quiksix25
    @quiksix25 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The NFL brand is strong and there are more than enough people in LA to fill a stadium, especially if it's newly designed. Will passive fans pass up the opportunity in order to mountain climb? Perhaps, but they will be overshadowed by the sheer number of NFL brand loyalists who will do anything for the product. In terms of just local support, please attend a Rams Chargers game in San Diego. If you do, then you will quickly see tens of thousands of LA Rams jerseys and generations of Ram football fans dying to see their team back in LA. Although perspective matters, you really need to look at the size of the NFL brand overall, then couple that with a brand new, state of the art stadium, while also keeping in mind the popularity of the once LA Rams.

      @rockvilleraven 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jimy Jeffers And if Marion Barry had his way in 2005, DC would have lost 3 teams and the Nats would have possibly moved to Vegas. They are still getting hosed by Angelos on the TV deal, but since Ted Lerner bought them, they have increased $1 Billion in value and they ranked 11 the attendance last year.

    As a Charger fan living in Buffalo NY, I hope to GOD that the NFL owners see it this way. I mean since I never been there, it wouldn't matter if I was in San Diego or not, and based on my main fear they will not only move but change their name too like the LA Bulldogs or something, I just hope the Chargers stay. I love the history, I love that more then anything, either be the LA Chargers or the San Diego Chargers. But I see something like this, and it just makes more sense! I see this and then I am thinking on the 13th, does this mean the most likely situation is that they will just stay where they are? If so, holy crap thanks for the extra unneeded drama NFL!Keep the Chargers in San Diego for Christ's sake!!!

    The problem abt an NFL team in LA is that it’ll take YEARS for them to develop a big fanbase even tho they won a Super Bowl cuz other teams dominate NFL fandom there. Teams like the raiders, niners, Steelers, cowboys, dolphins, Seahawks, broncos and even the patriots all have huge followings in LA because why the rams were in STL being mediocre, kids and adults who were from LA were growing up fans of those other teams cuz they were WINNING TITLES. I guarantee the rams will move back to STL in the far future cuz they don’t realize that their fans that supported them in the 40s and 50s or 70s won’t anymore cuz them and their kids aren’t gonna give up the fandom of those other teams I mentioned just cuz they’re the LA rams while in St Louis it gave the people another thing to be proud of instead of just the cardinals, same with the chargers and San Diego

  • @rdskn4eva
    @rdskn4eva 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Colin is right on with this one...So much stuff to do in LA, you dont really need a team...It would be nice to have one in LA, but its not a must have. Just too much to do in LA, even on a slow day.

    • @coronaflo
      @coronaflo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +rdskn4eva Well if you are not a football fan then that could be said of any place, there is always something else for you to do. The question is are there enough football fans in Los Angeles to support a team let alone two.

    • @Fan_Made_Videos
      @Fan_Made_Videos 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +coronaflo I think there are. 25 years ago you could have made the argument that nobody wanted to watch soccer, let alone attend a game yet today the Galaxy have a solid fanbase and a championship reputation. The NFL and its presence in the media (TV and Online social), as well as it's increased fan base of females it's a whole new game now. It's not just Pop Warner dads and their sons or die-hard football fans who bleed their team's colors.
      On top of that, a new stadium would also serve as a venue for other events from The Super Bowl and concerts to motor races, the Olympics, and college championship games, just to name a few.

    • @mylestate
      @mylestate 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +rdskn4eva Can't argue with that. However, that's from a microview. A look at how individuals might feel. From a business standpoint, it doesn't make sense to leave a team in St. Louis when the LA market is open to you. Even if the reception for the Rams is lukewarm and attendance is merely mediocre, you're still going to make significantly more more than you would in St. Louis. Rams were one of the lowest in attendance the last 5 years, the ad revenue isn't there, and the STATE of Missouri has 6 million people, while the COUNTY of Los Angeles has upwards of 10 million. So even if a smaller % go to games, the raw numbers will support the move.

    I think I speak for all "true" NFL fans in Los Angeles/Southern California: "We want are teams back!" We all don't have Red Zone, not even half of L.A. go to the beach. We are not "front runners" here and we have never been San Diego fans in L.A. We have been Raiders fans since 1982, the way we look at it: In 1994 the Raiders went up state to do some time and after doing almost 20yrs they can finally come back home. The Rams left L.A. in 1980 for Anaheim... there like the Clippers to us(the other team in town that never won a championship). L.A. is RAIDER NATION/ Rams Country!

      +Arik Haydn Any NFL team that wants to move is required by the NFL to pay a $650 million relocation fee. I don't think Mark Davis and co. have the cash advance on that. Spanos and Kroenke do though so I think that's why the Raider's position is not as clear cut. Also, the Missouri House of Representatives sent a notice to the Mayor of St. Louis that they will not support any tax hikes from local residents to help pay for the new stadium so that could put a long time wrinkle in any effort to convince the Rams to stay there.

    No city "needs" an NFL, or any pro sports team. Sure pro sports are entertaining and a nice diversion from reality for those who don't play, but there's no "need" for any of it. College sports is better anyway because the teams represent a University that is part of the education system which is a fabric of our country. Pro sports is all about money and contributes to the decadence of society...i.e., fantasy sports and gambling spawned from professional sports. However, Colin, you're in the minority on this. LA would, and will, support and NFL team like NY, Chi, and every other large market.

      +Erik Fardette St. Louis is more of a baseball and hockey town than a football town. Many St. Louis area folks also love soccer. I don't understand why St. Louis doesn't have an MLS or NASL team. St. Louis people might want an MLS franchise more than having the Rams in St. Louis. But the city of St. Louis can't make as much money with a MLS team as they would by keeping the Rams. St. Louis is much closer than San Diego and Oakland in getting a new stadium done, though San Diego and Oakland fans support their teams more. It's too bad fan loyalty doesn't matter much here. The Cardinals football team should never have left St. Louis for Phoenix. I wouldn't feel as bad if the Rams leave. St. Louis would only lose eight home dates (plus exhibition games) a year, though all of them would be big paydays. St. Louis would still have the Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey teams, with many more home dates. I haven't heard any St. Louis fans being all that interested in keeping the Rams there. If it was the Cleveland Browns threatening to move to Los Angeles, this comments section would be many, many pages long with many Browns backers ranting

    As someone who lives in STL, the Cardinals are a huge center for the city, but there's still a ton to do here past the Cards, especially for families. So would it hurt if the Cards left? Hell yeah, but there's still enough to do past that like the Zoo, the Arch, St. Charles, a lively nightlife, and of course all the random Busch sponsored venues/grant's farm.

    I get what this guy is saying but I can't help but notice his typical LA attitude. He acts like almost everyone I have ever met from LA. He is sheltered in his community and never leaves because he assumes everywhere else is shit. He said there is nothing to do in Milwaukee past 6pm! He acts like Milwaukee isn't Brew City and isn't the Munich of North America. Dude, there are more bars and nightlife attractions per capita in Milwaukee than any other city in North America.
