    every mlb player should take a page from chase utleys book. play the game hard, run out grounders, run around the bases when you homer, thats a baseball player.

      that comment is some of the problem. baseball is getting more "soft" because it's almost like youre not allowed to play the game hard anymore, too many people complain. sliding hard into a base is PART OF THE GAME. people have to stop trying to change the game its been the same for over 150 years. it shouldnt change now. players get hurt, oh well! its part of the job that they're getting paid millions to do.

      Right on! Baseball is so damn soft now! Why switch balls every time it gets dirt on it? Keep it in use until the cover pears off! Getting hit by a pitch in the head and die is PART OF THE GAME! Stop trying to change the game that has been the same for centuries! Dying on the field? That's part of the job you got paid millions to do!

    Colin, I'm Canadian but have been a huge baseball fan since I was a kid. Often I'm "disqualified" by others because I'm Canadian for "not being able to know the game". But I appreciate what you say every single interview. I think you've hit upon something here that needs to be addressed. Bravo for bringing it up :)

    pitchers celebrate when they strike you out . whos throwing at them?

    • @schrobilgens
      @schrobilgens 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Castillo it's stupid to throw at anyone. But pitchers don't really celebrate unless it's like the final out. Either way it's stupid that guys are getting thrown at

    That game was awkward, dumb, and cringey. His points about drilling guys are accurate, but wow he's just playing "spot the meaningless similarity" with that dumb mafia shit.

    Just saying I'm in high school and I've played football since 7th grade hockey since I was 8 years and baseball since I was 6 years so baseball players don't always only play baseball

    • @jackjon7763
      @jackjon7763 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Trey Willis the point is. Baseball is typically a year round sport for most serious youth baseball players. Play fall ball, winter ball, spring and summer. A lot of the kids around me maybe have 1 month off a year if they loose early in tournaments otherwise it's more like a couple weeks off

    When you have a bench clearing brawl in an all-star game and you have teammates on both sides but it doesn't matter because your guy was hit in retaliation... that's baseball. One of my best memories. I clocked a guy who played 2nd base on my team during the fight and 2 days later lifted him over my shoulder at the pitchers mount celebrating our championship. It's NORMALLY not personal there are just rights and wrongs we expect from our own and once it's finished it's normally finished.

    My grandson plays Baseball BasketBall and scoccer.Yes Baseball is almost year round...and he is a All star in baseball.But he has no verticle jump so basketball is not his string game.Andscoccer is something you play right after Fall Ball. But he can run and kikcks so scoccer he is pretty good in. But Baseball is where is he the best at.

    You can celebrate just not in a cocky arrogant way like in football when they dance and showboat like its the first time they've scored or tackled someone. Some sports and players just take it too far and it's kind of ridiculous.

    First off, comparing the MLB and baseball to the mafia is weak. But mainly, baseball is not insular. It's one of the more diverse sports out there. Yes, there are some times where styles of play do clash, but that doesn't mean that baseball is self-centered and ignorant of other cultures. For example, some Latino players play with a flair. There's nothing wrong with it. They might upset opponents sometimes and have some back-and-forth resulting from it, but it's all part of the game. No one is fined; no one is suspended; no one is forced to put his own culture and way of playing aside just to play the game "the right way".
