    Didn't take long to get that split eq into the workflow-- love it! Great tips-- thanks!

    The very first step for de-essing should always be manual volume automation. It takes time but to get a great vocal you have to zoom in close to your vocal track and manually drop the volume of the ess and shh sounds, if you let the de-esser do all the work it will take off too much brightness that doesn't have to be sacrificed.

      Highly agree if you have the isolated channels, while mastering we usually work on the stereo mix so de-esser will have to be it…

      also can use a brick wall limiter to get rid of unwanted peaks before going into a compressor/desser, however, would combine this with your tip!

    Useful and concise as usual!
    In this video you've shown how to get more highend using a compressor/reverb.
    I would love to see videos dedicated to "advanced use cases" of only one plugin type, compressor for example.
    Keep it up!

    Great Tips, thanks!
    Just want to add something to No. 4: you can do it with other plugins too. Boz Transgressor 2 or Neutron Transient Shaper (which has multi-band) should deliver very similar results. And there's probably more plugins that can do it.

    High frequency bus: linear phase sure, or just flip the polarity on the channel

    2:58 - 'Eventide' is pronounced 'eeventide' (emphasis on the 'ee' sound). Otherwise, useful and creative high-end tips.

    These steps should be taken after managing the frequencies properly otherwise your mix may suffer from harshness

    But why so many people cut the high ends then

    • @sageaudio
      @sageaudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      I makes sense to cut some sibilance frequencies if that range is too aggressive, be even then, boosting the air frequencies is still typically a good idea.
