He actually dodged the question by simply asserting distances are linear and only work on a flat plane by not saying how it is the result is accurate on a globe and what method he could use to calculate the same distance on a flat plane. There was no attempt to calculate the distance to Russia on a flat plane. This is the same logic he used with celestial navigation. Assert it only works on a flat plane. Fail to explain why it actually does work on a globe, and fail to demonstrate it ever being used assuming a flat plane.
Wow! Seems like every single rollercoaster in the world is a scam. They want you to pay money for a ride on tracks that have been proven by Uncle Fester to have no length. I'm shocked!
Maybe one could argue that since the earth's shape is better approximated as an oblate spheroid than a sphere, you'd have to deal with the fact that ellipses have no algebraic solution for their perimeter. Or you could argue that the earth is not even a perfect oblate spheroid, having infinitely intricate topographical features, so you'd have a coastline paradox if you don't create a minimum for the division size, but that seems a little beyond most flat earthers.

Oakley is like uncle Fester's evil twin.
You can't use linear distance on a flat earth map.
Use a string on a globe instead.
To measure the distance to the 24 hour sun in Antarctica you use angles - north from the south pole and down to the horizon.
