Was unsure if I should pick up the AWM500. You have helped me step closer to a purchase point. And a great review, thankyou Mr Casio. This was our 1st time watching your review.
I must say it's a class looking G-Shock. As I have a metal square and two blackout GA-2100s which are my smart-casual options, I don't think I'll be getting this but still appreciate it. Cheers!
Man oh man does this watch look good! After your review, I’m “this close” to pressing the ‘order’ button! I love the history of this brand and this reissued version tickles my fancy 😉 Great images and great view of the watch. Thanks for sharing!
Bought one. I have a 7.5 inch wrist and it wears well. The dial could have been a few mm larger for my taste. But really happy with it, very unique piece
Citizen makes fantastic watches too but this G-shock is something else. Solar, multiband, auto illuminator. This is definitely more durable than anything Citizen has made, and it's priced right.
My only complaint is that at that price point it should have sapphire.. but I know that isnt as shock proof but to spend $500 plus just to have your window scratched in the first week doesn't motivate me to buy.
@@traviswalker8933 Price is high yes but quality is also on another level. I recently thought about my GMW 5000 - 300-500€ for a digital watch? Hell no would most think. But then you wear it on your wrist and it feels just absolutley perfectly build. Not a single flaw i found. Plus solar, shock resistence, radio frequency accuracy, timers, world time, etc. And then you think about a 10k Rolex that not even keeps time more accuratly. I don‘t think they are overpriced not even with the mineral crystal
@@traviswalker8933 nah can‘t agree on this one. I wear my watches quite carefully I have to admit but I already bumped into stuff like it is happening when wearing the piece 24/7 but still not a single scratch after 2weeks
given it is a bracelet, it seems that it might be too large for my 6.5 wrists and have it sliding up and down on wrist with that humongous fixed lug to lug size. although I have no problem wearing my Gulfmaster and mudmaster
I will most likely buy the black resin version because of the 24hr stopwatch. 60min just doesn’t cut it for me. Otherwise, it’s a nice watch. I just wished it has a 24hr stopwatch like it’s resin cousin does.
The problem with this watch is who has the guts to use something so pretty like a g-shock needs to be used. It's a watch built for tough life that will be used for the plush life
True. I don't see this watch being used by those who need a tough take everything you throw at it G Shock. It's just too pretty for G Shock. This is a safe queen.
I see one thing that bothers me. It's a double font in the LCD. They should stick to one of those and I like both of those we see here. A missing second hand makes it more sturdy and easier to deal with. Again, I like both. "The round case" or "the perfect circle" designs are of value to me.
@@WatchingCasio Well, my WVA-M640 (5161) and my AQ-164W (4396) have one font each. You, or someone else being interested, can Google those for pics. I'm fooling around with the AD-710 (388) and the PNM-500 (388) currently for some repairs, ideas and mods. It's more fonts to see. Great channel :)

@@WatchingCasio i find useless all analog quartz watches no matter the brand ! Only logical way to own a quartz watch is for the digital ones because they have many functions
@@WatchingCasio Yeah, 175 grams isn't crazy for a watch - maybe heavy by G-Shock standards but I've got a couple Seiko divers that are more than that and completely fine to wear daily.
TH-cam sure took its time getting me here. This is an excellent watch incredibly well made and you did w great job at showing it. But I'd really want at least one sensor on this watch at this price. It does look gorgeous tho...
Do you think this accidentally competes with Casio's G-Steel line? Cause if I want a metal square, I'll get the metal square cause there's nothing out there like it. Whereas with this, especially at this price point, I have to consider comparing this to purchasing a G Steel cause they both are anadigi watches. Plus, just based on the style alone this might compete with more traditional quartz watches.
The G Steel watches have Bluetooth and are a lot more rugged. This is more of a throwback watch with exquisite styling. Casio definitely has a lot of competition between their brands. I think it all comes down to what you're looking for. The G Steel watches are a bit too big for my wrist, personally.
@@traviswalker8933 I realize that they are listing them for full retail, but if Casio USA is distributing it, it means it will eventually show up at Macy's, which usually has a 25% off MSRP sale every few months.
There are MUCH more expensive watches with just basic timekeeping. This is also supremely accurate and durable, so MUCH better value than many other premium watches.
This G shock puts a lot of other more expensive watches to shame, I mean just look at the detail and finish that they have gone to. I like it a lot although it's far too nice to ruff up.
Meh... funky hands, ugly cutout for the digital display, and too thick for a "sleek" design. Too each his own. I did buy the GST-B300, which I love and has the same awesome two backlight system, but it has a dedicated middle light button. And $120 less.
Wow. Somehow this watch absolutley disgusts me because it is not my taste, too bulky, too clumsy. And on the other hand it looks so unique and absolutley georgeous on the wrist. Strange combination but this is Casio. Taste has to ripen with casio G-Shocks (I always said I‘m never gonna get a casio square because I found the design hideous. Stunning. It really looks great. I’m waiting for it to be available here in Bangkok. I’m planning to get the black one, and the gold full metal.

Thank you! Yeah maybe, it fits mine perfectly but it's only 6.75 inches.
I like it!!! It’s affordable and durable. Looks like a cross between a Seiko Tuna and a Panerai Luminor 👍🏼 (same size 44mm)
