Norton did this in response to Chaffee bringing a defamation claim against him. He was compelled to apologize as, most likely, part of a settlement agreement to avoid going to court.

A neurosurgeon doesn’t just dole out prescriptions and send people to labs for routine lab work. A neurosurgeon deals strictly with the most serious diseases. He’s a doctor you never want to HAVE to see but NEED when it’s serious. And he’s humble about it!

Layne Norton advocates a high fiber diet. You don’t need to be a medical doctor to know that makes no sense. Just looking at a diagram of the GI tract of a human compared to herbivore animals who do eat fiber, like ruminant animals who have extra stomachs full of bacteria that “ferment” fiber into fatty acids and other herbivore primates like Apes who have a large Cecum to “ferment” fiber once it has passed through the intestines, should tell you humans lack the plumbing to house the bacteria required to extract nutrients from fiber. His logic seems to be fiber is required to act as a filler to move all the carbohydrates he consumes, faster through the small intestines so that less of the plant material he eats breaks down into glucose and gets transported to the rest of his body by lipoproteins in his blood.
I also liked how Layne intentionally mispronounced "Chaffee", like that scene from Godfather II with the corrupt senator intentionally mispronouncing Corleone
All we need to know is Dr Chaffee is a real doctor and he actually cares about peoples health unlike most doctors that have no idea about diet and food and just want to put you on a prescription . He is a humble gentleman.Australia needs many more doctors like him.

I was a fan of Layne Norton for a hot minute many years ago....he leads you down a path of ridiculous never ending rabbit holes. I quit following him pretty immediately after being completely frustrated. No matter really now as I am 100% sold out to Carnivore now, for this last year.

@anthonychaffeemd I want to add, I am raising my grandson who came to me through foster care. He has NF 1 with an underline condition of ADHD and Autism. I switched his diet to carnivore because I (nana) and granddad are both carnivore. He has improved greatly in the past 6 months. His neurologist agreed he had improved. He told me to continue with what I am doing. I was so happy his doctor is on board.

I had mild depression and anxiety. 4 months into bbb&e carnivore I dropped all meds above including all mental issues, and the weight washed off. Down 112lbs and feeling superhuman. Nobody can convince me that we are more than opportunistic carnivores at best for survival. BBB&E for the rest of my life 💪

Sad that it takes legal action or the threat or prospect of that for some people to act decently. Insincere or motivated by self-interest as it may be it's still good to have the record corrected though not all who saw the original slander will see the correction but at least some will.
All that damage done and even with the record corrected, many will still refuse to acknowledge it. Defamation needs to have a larger consequence behind it beyond a simple public apology. In this case, because of how egregious it was, Layne should have his channel suspended for at least 6 months. The fact that he's allowed to post regularly and continue with his BS is ridiculous. "Oh well, I slandered someone, made a public apology. I'm all good!" Like what the effing eff! That doesn't undo any of the damage that was done. That lie-plane circled the globe multiple times before it was even forced to land for an inspection and then it took right off again because that video is STILL there. Not to mention the fact that his front page video hasn't changed. I mean, at the very least make him change the front page video to the apology.
On a personal level this was good. Layne does not impress me with his takes on many things, but, it is impressive when people realize that everyone has the right to believe differently and that respect should be present when interacting, which is what this is about. If people with different views at least conduct themselves with respect then there can be civil conversations and debates and people can decide for themselves who they think either has a better grasp, or makes a better case for a particular topic. Good for Layne on this one, now have decent debates and conversations so others can listen and learn! A step was taken, keep up the growth.
Don't really know the guy in the first place, but I think that was one of the most insincere apologies I've heard in awhile. Kept doubling down on his stand on fruits and vegetables and how disagrees with Dr. Chaffee. Why not just apologize for lying about his credentials and call it a day.

Layne Norton advocates a high fiber diet. You don’t need to be a medical doctor to know that makes no sense.
Just looking at a diagram of the GI tract of a human compared to herbivore animals who do eat fiber, like ruminant animals who have extra stomachs full of bacteria that “ferment” fiber into fatty acids and other herbivore primates like Apes who have a large Cecum to “ferment” fiber once it has passed through the intestines, should tell you humans lack the plumbing to house the bacteria required to extract nutrients from fiber.
His logic seems to be fiber is required to act as a filler to move all the carbohydrates he consumes, faster through the small intestines so that less of the plant material he eats breaks down into glucose and gets transported to the rest of his body by lipoproteins in his blood.
I also liked how Layne intentionally mispronounced "Chaffee", like that scene from Godfather II with the corrupt senator intentionally mispronouncing Corleone

I was a fan of Layne Norton for a hot minute many years ago....he leads you down a path of ridiculous never ending rabbit holes. I quit following him pretty immediately after being completely frustrated. No matter really now as I am 100% sold out to Carnivore now, for this last year.

@anthonychaffeemd I want to add, I am raising my grandson who came to me through foster care. He has NF 1 with an underline condition of ADHD and Autism. I switched his diet to carnivore because I (nana) and granddad are both carnivore. He has improved greatly in the past 6 months. His neurologist agreed he had improved. He told me to continue with what I am doing. I was so happy his doctor is on board.

I don't know how else to explain to people that were just carnivores. I did keto for a year straight.clean Keto. I lost some weight and stayed on 6 meds including 2 inhailers. I had mild depression and anxiety. 4 months into bbb&e carnivore I dropped all meds above including all mental issues, and the weight washed off. Down 112lbs and feeling superhuman. Nobody can convince me that we are more than opportunistic carnivores at best for survival. BBB&E for the rest of my life 💪

Sad that it takes legal action or the threat or prospect of that for some people to act decently.
Insincere or motivated by self-interest as it may be it's still good to have the record corrected though not all who saw the original slander will see the correction but at least some will.
All that damage done and even with the record corrected, many will still refuse to acknowledge it. Defamation needs to have a larger consequence behind it beyond a simple public apology. In this case, because of how egregious it was, Layne should have his channel suspended for at least 6 months. The fact that he's allowed to post regularly and continue with his BS is ridiculous. "Oh well, I slandered someone, made a public apology. I'm all good!" Like what the effing eff! That doesn't undo any of the damage that was done. That lie-plane circled the globe multiple times before it was even forced to land for an inspection and then it took right off again because that video is STILL there.
Not to mention the fact that his front page video hasn't changed. I mean, at the very least make him change the front page video to the apology.
On a personal level this was good. Layne does not impress me with his takes on many things, but, it is impressive when people realize that everyone has the right to believe differently and that respect should be present when interacting, which is what this is about. If people with different views at least conduct themselves with respect then there can be civil conversations and debates and people can decide for themselves who they think either has a better grasp, or makes a better case for a particular topic. Good for Layne on this one, now have decent debates and conversations so others can listen and learn! A step was taken, keep up the growth.
Don't really know the guy in the first place, but I think that was one of the most insincere apologies I've heard in awhile. Kept doubling down on his stand on fruits and vegetables and how disagrees with Dr. Chaffee. Why not just apologize for lying about his credentials and call it a day.

Definitely not. Idz is finding this to the nail and trying to pretend like I'm the one slandering him! He agreed to make an apology video and then went radio silent for the past 2 months, so it's likely that I will be taking him to court and seeking damages at this point if he doesn't make a very quick turnaround.
