    PLEASE READ: Hi everyone, I made a rookie mistake in this video and I want to bring it to your attention before you make your bed.
    If you are using a directional fabric, you will want to pin the TOP of your side piece to the bottom of the circle/semi circle used for the top of the bed, if you don’t, the sides of the bed will be upside down.
    I’m sorry for any confusion. If you have any questions, just let me know!

    Thank you so much for this video, i made 3 of them for my cats, just in time for winter in SA, and they love it! I used a beautiful dark grey velvet fabric, so soft and warm. ❤

    So I followed your video and my ferret loved it!!! I just didn't make it as 10 inches high. I made it 6 inches and it seemed to be a perfect fit. Thanks for the tutorial 😊

      I’m so happy to hear that! And I’m glad to know you modified it, the 10” works great, but I have been wanting to make one shorter, and I’m happy to know it turned out so well and that your ferret loved it 🥰

    I love this! I've wanted to make one like this for quite awhile. I'd like to make a couple of these for the shelter kitties I'm making pillow beds for.

    This was a darling tutorial! I made one cat bed a couple months ago by up cycling some of my bright fun printed scrubs I no longer wore but loved. This!? I think I can see my two snuggled down into their "super cape beds" only peeking out to watch the birds and deer pass by their window this winter❤

    I think this is great… have been looking for a tutorial like this. BUUUUUTTT… if you’re using a directional fabric, when pinning the sides to top cover circles, you want to put the TOP edge of the side piece to the edge of the circles… NOT the bottom ~ because your ☁️clouds☁️ are now upside down. 😉 After pinning, just flip it over to make sure they’re the right direction before sewing. ❤️🐾❤️

      You are so right, I sadly realized that after I had uploaded the video 🤦‍♀️ unfortunately I can’t edit the video after it’s uploaded. I have no idea what I was thinking when I did that. I use directional fabric all the time. I should probably stop making tutorials at midnight, 😂.

      @@FerretTails Haha- no worries! You were severely multitasking at the time. 😉🙃 After watching it the 1st time, I went back to write it all down & kept rewinding that part several times because I thought MY pea-brain at midnight kept ignoring a step & I was confusing myself. 😂 But it’s a great tutorial & can’t wait to try it… with non-directional fabric for my 1st go at it. 😁

      @@SimplyLolly I’m just happy that I caught it before I made one for a customer 😂 I would’ve had to remake the whole thing because I would never send it out like that, but I did end up making the second one with a zipper instead of stitching it up completely up after adding the stuffing. It turn out great and now the stuffing can be removed and replaced if it ever needs to be which I think should make the bed last longer!

      @@FerretTails Oooooh that’s a PAWESOME idea!!😍 Or… reduce the cost & a few steps by using a strip of Velcro! This would be easy to attach to the side strip right before filling (to make sure it’s placement is accurate) and then hand stitch the top & bottom gaps. ~ I pulled fabric this afternoon to make a bed after I finish these crinkle tunnels but happy I read this before starting becuz I’m definitely going to add a Velcro closure to it. This would also allow ferrents to take out or add more filling depending on their kids preference… no more guessing what they’d like.
      ** personal question - I’ve always used the Original Premium in my beds, is there is def difference with the Silky Poly-fil or is the difference pretty minor? If it is substantially better, do you know if it comes in the huge box like the Original? (I could only find the bags online.) Thanks!

    How would one go about adding something to the top part to keep it staying up in place and not falling on them like a blanket?

    This pillow would be even better if it had a zipper. The cover will need to be washed, if there was a separate inside pillow. Other than that, the tutorial is very helpful 👌. Thank you

    • @FerretTails
      @FerretTails  ปีที่แล้ว

      I added a zipper to the ones I made after this, and even though I have washed the one without a zipper several times and it turned out great, overtime the stuffing will definitely need to be changed!

    This is fantastic. I sew for guinea pigs etc so sizing would be adjusted but they will love it. Can you reverse it? (Cotton on inside) I always include extra piddle pads for my smaller animals. The first one I make will be for my granddaughter puppy. She will love it!

    • @FerretTails
      @FerretTails  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could definitely reverse it and if you are familiar with sewing, I made one after this and added a zipper to the ends sewed closed in the video so I could switch out the stuffing for new if it gets to dirty over time. (Just an idea)

    • @barbcnockaert5062
      @barbcnockaert5062 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s a great idea. My customers usually choose a print and plain fabric. Then I make the piddle pads with both materials. Being able to reverse it is great. I will definitely check out your zipper video. I’m so glad I found you. Some customers have purchased altered items I currently make for their ferret babes, so this will be well received. Thanks!

      @FerretTails  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      😂 I am offering them upon request. If you want to send me message I can create an order for you. The cloud fabric is out of stock at Joanns, but if you see another flannel you like just let me know or I can find you one. They may have some that match your liners and/or accessories if you wanted it to match.
