Found your channel via this video as we're going to kit out our transit too. Love your set up and have got lots of ideas now! Also the rest of the channel is awesome too - so many great travel vids. And you came past us in cahors France! Bon courage !
Hey thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel, so excited to have you along on the adventure 🙌 good luck with the van build! Let us know how it goes 😊
You could almost put the warm shower water in the sink rather than the bin that could be not totally clean. Also you could try to bow your shower curtain out to get more elbow room.
Yes you could but then you run out of water quicker as the bin collects run off making the shower run better and if it was in the sink the hose would make the shower curtain open and also get in the way of the person not showing. The bin itself is pretty clean as we use a liner to collect the rubbish.
I just found your channel and I love your home. You guys did an amazing job building it out and having individual “rooms”. will follow you, from the 🇺🇸
You’ve paid so much attention to detail! Love the solar panels and interior design with a nice colour scheme! The view from your bed must be one of the highlights! Excellent job! 👌👌👌
Nice conversion guys, just found you on YT so need to catch up on your build series! - Pretty impressive you managed to fit this layout into a smaller van, well done!
Hey guys! So happy to have you along for the adventure. Thanks so much we spent a few years planning what we wanted our van to look and feel like and we are really happy with the outcome. Hope you enjoy the videos, do you guys have a van?
@@findingouradventure_ Excited to see more vids to see how you guys get on with adventuring! :) Yeah we do! We are converting a citroen relay L4H2 (maybe around half way haha) we have a few videos on our channel documenting our journey :)
You have made such a beautiful van! I'm so jealous of what a good job you've done. I have also been looking at vans. Do you think that Transits are reliable enough even with high milage?
Its been a great van for us, but ours only has 60,000 miles so far, so I cannot say what it would be like with high milage, we have heard then keep going though.
Well done!!! Love this and it looks so homey. The kitties are happy, I have a Pia lol Pain In A... pretty kitties and your home is amazing and very detailed! Curious about the Google wifi you said? I am looking for a van in the meantime wifi in my car would help alot! Thank you in advance and I will sub and follow your adventures. Much love from Texas 💜
Thank you so much! Glad to have you following along from Texas. We just took Tia and Skye on their longest walk yet today and they loved it 😍 The Wifi system we use is called Maxview Roam. Good luck with finding your van and keep us updated on your journey 🙌
@@findingouradventure_ thank you for this and will catch up on your video's soon!!! I love how kitties love it out there and my fur baby will be my companion, Dora a Pomsky will love it!!! ✌😊❤
Just subscribed 👍 😅 we are about to convert our transit and have the same lwb high top but it's rare to see people install shower/toilet! You guys have done a great job with yours ☺️👍
@@findingouradventure_ no problem! ☺️ We have a bit of a layout in mind and taped it down just need to wait for a dry day to make a start on cutting out holes and insulation! 👍
@@findingouradventure_ we're in the peak district 👍 we plan on going straight up to Scotland and doing a bit of a tour around the Highlands, our 30 year old campervan had some issues the day before we were due to head up, so it all got cancelled. So we've just been filming mainly in and around the peak district over the past year. Fingers crossed we can get it done by the summer/early autumn but not sure how long they usually take 😅
@@HayandKyle we took 7 months to do ours, but obviously it can be done much fast. We started the build in November and found it very tiring to do in winter as we no shelter for the build. It was totally worth it for summer though! We will be in Scotland around April time 🙌 maybe we will see you guys on the road 👍
Enjoyed your video guys as I’ve also converted the same crew van. Could I ask what security camera you went for? Also, I noticed you have installed an aftermarket back door handle to open it, where did you purchase it from? My wife can’t cope with the little slider catch on the mk7’s. 😏👍
Hey thanks for watching and glad you've enjoyed the video, please don't forget to subscribe! We went for the Wansview camera. You should be able to find them on Amazon. The handle was already installed on the van when we got it so I have no idea where to get that from.
What an amazing thorough van tour! and some nice inspiration, as we are currently looking for our first van to convert into a camper and ideally it will be the same shape transit but with the medium wheel base instead, 👍
@@findingouradventure_hey thanks for the reply..we had a voxhall vivaro conversion with rock and roll bed(too expensive). Plan is just make it simple. but too big for a petite lol.. maybe a Merc Vito easy drive to Spain.xx
how do you make the cats living in a RV while each time are moving? does the cat have an always open door ? I am planning to make something similar but I am considering making a floor hole entrance door for the cat, but unsure, what do you think?
Hi there no we don’t have any outside access points for the cats as we need to be in total control for the cats safety. Imagine them climbing out through a hole in a busy city and running into traffic etc. Our cats are lead and harness trained and we take them for walks in quiet nature spots which they love 😊 Tia and Skye are also both house cats so more than happy to spend most of the day sleeping in their favourite places in the van as it has been their home for the past two years.
@@findingouradventure_ super great, thanks. do you think that without training properly at beginning (and almost free domestic cat of 4 years) could have so much strees ? by the way I made a special cam for cats with infrared, I never got any sold but you can check here just to have an idea. catcam.pro
Hi, could I ask how tall you are? I'm looking at getting a high roof same model but can't find much info on the pre 2014 transits internal dimensions! The mk8 (2014 onwards) has 2125mm ceiling height for the high roof version, which is 6 feet 9 inches, that would give me room to insulate the floor and ceiling and still stand comfortably. Cheers
Hi there I’m 5’11 and we have a rear wheel drive transit which I believe has a slightly higher floor than the FWD transit to accommodate the drive shaft. I comfortable standing in our van, anyone over 6ft might struggle though
@@findingouradventure_ hey, thanks so much for a speedy reply! Been binging your videos! Okay I'm only an inch taller than you so that is quite reassuring, I guess I need to go and look at a few and see how I fit! 😁 Cheers again 😊
@@JackdiyGarden yeah that’s the best thing is to just go stand in a few vans to see how it feels. Remember to add on the extra height for the floor and ceiling 🙌
@@findingouradventure_ Yeah the extra height is what I'm really struggling to account for! If I go for the one with an extra 100mm of headroom I'll be in comfortably but they're a lot harder to come by 😁
How tall are you both? Trying to figure out whether to buy a 2007 transit - not sure if i would be able to sleep in bed in the van widthways as you guys are! Im 5'5 so hoping i would be short enough to be fully stretched out!
Why don't you tint the windows so you don't have to cover them and the kitties can oerch on the window sill and look out? That's what I did in my motorhome (I travel with 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️ too). I would want windows in the barn doors as well.....the more windows, the better for me.
@@leilal8053 We did tint the side windows. Not sure we had done it by this video though. Also we didn’t want rear door windows because of condensation in winter and we like to sit with our backs against those doors.
Fantastic to see everything fitted so well in this size van, great garage space as well.
Yep, lots of planning and prep to come up with our perfect layout :)
My plan is to install a small continuous fan drawing the smelly air out the litterbox area down and out of the van
That would work really well! Although we used good clumping litter and scooped any mess every day. Then we never had any smell issues
You have put a lot of important things in this van. I love that you take good care of your beautiful cats.

Some other builds that are set up for cats that I’ve seen use a small usb fan to vent the litter smell out. May help u.
