    That’s one of the best informational videos I’ve come across. Thank You for not filling our time with a lot of fluff. So many TH-camrs love to hear themselves talk. Thanks again.

    I'd love to have a 3-4 acre pond with a lot of trees and structure. max depth of 25ft. Rocky damn bank with a good drop off not too far out. lots of plant life.

    forget the bass and let channel catfish be the top predator. People talk about shiners and bluegill as the first addition to a pond however it starts with vegetation, insects, crawfish, frogs and countless other forage for the fish that you eventually intend to harvest

  • @clarkphillips334

    The rotifers and others need algi for food for bluegill

    we have a 3' plecocostumus in our pond. cleans it up well but has started to eat fish. are carp the only veg feeders to get?

      grass carp have been very effective as a long term control . check your laws in your state to see if they are legal . not all states will let them in . we also have used koi, goldfish , and tilapia as control , these fish will reproduce so be careful to stock properly so they dont take over . tilapia will not survive temps below 50 degrees . grass carp are my number one choice

    • @fluffehtaco8392

      No, there's always a big enough bass that will eat it

  • @tmo4330

    The white amur is a terrible fish to stock if you feed your fish. The white amur will think you are feeding the pellets to them. At $59.00 per 50 lb bag of purina aquamax, the amurs will eat you out of house and home.

    My friend and I are making a pond thats part of the creek right now its about 20ft by 4ft and maybe 2ft at deepest will that work for like 2 bass and 10 sunfish? We have lots of driftwood overhang and have liner to stop erosion along with moving water and roots for food. Will that work?

    how bout small mouth bass walleye and bullhead

    • @brandonthompson7075
      @brandonthompson7075 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Devon Thompson if you have mucky water and not much vegetation do not stock bullhead they don’t eat big fish and big fish won’t eat them beside catfish. They can be become invasive if you water and shelter is right. Be careful with them imo

    • @remingtonwallace7446

      Water also gets to hot for walleye and small mouth bass need currents to survive

    You are a fool if you put carp in your pond. Might as well go buy a couple hundred minnows to throw in and maybe 500 goldfish from the carnival leftovers.
