    Thanks for the explanation. We had a spring largemouth bass fishkill here on our Lake Holiday (248 acre lake) in Virginia in late spring. They said it was due to "spawning stress" and water temperature fluctuations. As an angler it was not fun to watch all the dead largemouth floating...Smallies seemed to fill in the gap the rest of the year. Hopefully the largemouth will be back this spring...

    Any alternative to Copper sulfate? Salt can be helpful?

    Thank you for the information.First winter after spring stocking a fished out pond. We feed floating food all summer. We put in a windmill bottom aerator. Pond is down 2 foot. 5 foot of water left on1/2 acre pond. Should we use copper sulfate as a prophylaxis?
