I think the Magne Reacts community is the way it is because of You Magne. You attract mostly what you put out:) I fear the trolls may find you here as your channel grows but I guess that happens when more people are exposed to your channel. Seems like you are doing well and had some possitive changes in your life, Great to see! I am looking forward to whats next:)

Most of the people on TH-cam react to just the big 4 but there are so many more, in my opinion, interesting bands to explore; Testament, overkill, Sabbat uk, exodus, heathen, orbit culture, death angel

Assuming that by "the big 4" you mean the ones of Thrash Metal, I'd like to throw in Coroner, Détente, Anacrusis, Hexenhaus, Mekong Delta, Forbidden, Sacrilege (UK), Voivod, Watchtower and Znowhite.

@@jasonlockyer8647 Couldn't agree more! Especially the rhythm guitar work is excellent as well as the heavy and raw sound. One of my overall favourite Thrash Metal albums, but 1988 was a very good year in this regard anyway, because the debuts "A Tribute to Insanity" by Hexenhaus (especially the epic "As Darkness Falls...") and "Suffering Hour" by Anacrusis ("Present Tense" being my favourite song) also are among my overall favourite Thrash Metal albums, not to forget that the title track of Forbidden's debut "Forbidden Evil" as well as "Through Eyes of Glass" rank among my overall favourite Thrash Metal songs!

Just found a moment to watch your live stream...I grew up listening to beatles, rolling stones and the who. I appreciated it but it wasnt really my bag then along came the new wave of heavy metal; Iron Maiden, Saxon, Diamond Head etc when I was 10/11 and my parents bought me a tape player and 3 albums from the mentioned bands and that is where my journey began at the end of the 70's. As time went on I would always listen to the rock show on radio 1 uk which allowed me to discover more bands. Music was the stability in my life and stll love metal music now. Candlemass (you have reacted to in the past) is one of my favourite bands and a band called King Witch (who specify Candlemass as inspiration). Great to see you back on the journey. Best, J

@@jasonlockyer8647 I may not listen to many Doom Metal bands, but Candlemass are among my faves and when you mentioned "female fronted", I did a quick search on YT and checked out "Return to Dust" (which appeared at the top). She does have a powerful voice and I also like the music. What would you say are their best songs? And are you familiar with Avatarium, which have very close connections to Candlemass, and Bathsheba? And have you perhaps also heard the first two releases by The 3rd and the Mortal ("Sorrow" and "Tears Laid in Earth")?

Couldn't watch your stream live, because 7 pm was too early for me, but I have just streamed the upload. Now that you have moved to Oslo, we might perhaps one day see each other at a Kari Bremnes concert, because the last couple of years (except for 2020 for obvious reasons) I've always made a short trip to Oslo to attend two of her concerts there.
I liked your comparison of Metal with food to illustrate its variety. The difference between Metal and food is that whatever type of Metal you like, it's never unhealthy - unless you turn up the volume so high that it ruins your ears, but this is independent of the subgenre you listen to and also applies to other types of music.
I also agree that listening to Metal can have a cathartic effect. At the time I got into Metal in 1984, there were a lot of things happening in the world which made me very angry (not that this has changed a lot until now) and listening to Metal, especially my favourite subgenre Thrash Metal, could have a sort of cleansing effect. One of the best examples would be Dawn Crosby's (RIP) vocals on the album "Recognize No Authority" by Détente (released in 1986) and on the more refined and atmospheric album "Within the Veil" by Fear of God (released in 1991), where her vocals expressed what I felt. Though this is not the only reason for me to listen to Metal. Sometimes it's just the energy I'm feeling (in heavier and fast-paced songs), or beautiful melodies (in the vocals or guitar solos) or - usually in the case of more complex/technical or very atmospheric stuff - simply diving deep into the music and trying to discover all the details by listening to it with headphones and my eyes closed in order to fully concentrate on different parts, e.g. interesting bass-lines or drum-patterns.

@@Magnereacts On working days, 8:30 or 9 pm CET would be best for me - I live in Germany, thus the same time zone as you. In my initial comment, I wanted to recommend you a programme showing Kari's concert with KORK last year at Frognerseteren Amfi in Oslo (I was there, too), but my comment was immediately removed by the obviously not so smart algorithms on YT. No idea which keyword(s) caused this. The stream will go online this Saturday. By the way, one of NRK's team which recorded the concert wore a T-shirt saying: "Ingenting er så ille at ikke trekkspill kan gjøre det verre." While I'm generally not a fan of music with accordions, there are - as nearly always - exceptions to the rule. One of them is the band Stolen Babies, who among other things is also labeled Avant-garde Metal and whose female singer happens to play this instrument. Their debut album "There Be Squabbles Ahead" is one of my overall most-played albums. I'd recommend the official videoclip of their song "Push Button", which IMO conveys some Tim Burton-vibes: th-cam.com/video/e34fWSOW2tU/w-d-xo.html (unfortunately, the picture resolution is rather low, but this is from 2006 and it's mostly about the music) I'd also say that this is one of their more moderate songs. In some other sings, their singer also does some harsh screaming vocals which I usually don't like, but also in this regard, Stolen Babies are an exception to the rule for me, maybe in connection with the music and also because she only uses them occasionally and not in all the songs.

😂😂Ingenting er så ille at ikke trekkspill kan gjøre det verre! 😂😂
I was talking to my Roomie about accordions today. We were listening to Erik Bye. One of my favorite Norwegian artists. And my dad loved "gammeldans". A type of Norwegian/Swedish folk music.
And i know a woman who plays accordion sooo beautifully.
But accordions can definitely be annoying too 😂
Frognerseteren is not far away from me! That konsert with Kari must have been great. I hope ill be able to go to a concert with her here in Oslo, maybe this year
Thank you for your enthusiasm and lovely messages Loona!
