Listen to the last song on the album..."Hell on Earth". The intro is three minutes long, the song stuck in my head immediately. I think you'd really love this one.
If you are interested in the clips, they released another animated clip for Stratego. It is interesting, the song and clip are references to the strategy game Shogi, popular in Japan. There are lots of interesting things there. The song is not as direct as this one, since they are talking about a game, but it also has meaning because the game is even more complex than chess and it is about war strategy.
@Juan Kristian That was also before the surgery. His compressed style singing makes you a little less clear. Rob halford sometimes had it too but a lot less frequent. Still in terms of pitch both are amazing and bruce shows that he still has it.
Did he actually have a piece of his tongue cut out. I remember from his book him saying that due to the treatments he had for his cancer the entire top level of his tongue pealed off
Things you never thought you would hear an opera singer say. “We are gonna go back because this instrumental is dope.” It is so great to watch your enjoyment of metal. You Rock!

I did a talk in 1990's at college about Iron Maiden and I was told back then "they're nobody, they're washed up has beens" This upset and angered me as 17th album and the best album ever!!! Who can say to me now "they are nobody"? I am glad I did a talk and I proved that Maiden will go stronger in time. 2021 Covid. Maiden come out giving the fans something spectacular, pure energetic album from start to finish.
as a long time fan of Iron Maiden, I would disagree. To me it is the worst album with Bruce as singer. His vocals are not so pronounced due to illness. Not bad actually but not as good as previous albums. And the most tracks are quite dull. but everyone is different
Seeing you fall in love with Maiden and metal makes my heart so happy! Metal is so underrated, we need more people to really give it a chance so they can see the splendor for themselves, it should be on every radio station. I was lucky to be introduced to it at 15 and now my daughters are big fans too. Iron Maiden puts on the best live shows, hands down, they take their performances seriously yet have so much wholesome fun with it. Every member oozes talent and seems to have endless energy. Ive seen them 7 times, the last time a few months ago and it was the best I’ve seen them yet Please please go see them live if you ever get the chance! Steve Harris is a legend and the more you learn about Bruce, the more you will love him. Thank you for all the wonderful information and an entertaining reaction!
The live version of “Paschendale” from the Death on the Road tour is really amazing and emotional. The entire band’s performance and stage presence is spectacular. Intro poem and “cannons” firing; Concertina wire and helmet included
For your own amusement if nothing else, you might want to listen to the entirety of Seventh Son of A Seventh Son if you haven't. It's a concept album. Also, it's the first one on which Bruce wrote a bunch of the songs, and it's basically a "Rock Opera."
First album of theirs I heard, my cousin brought it when it first came out and we listened to it non stop. I was 11 and it help sculpt my musical journey.
I remember how excited I was when "Can I Play with Madness" premiered on Headbangers Ball." Like David L said, it's a great album to listen to beginning to end. Such a cohesive album. Infinite Dreams is one of my favorite Maiden songs. I love the bassline.
I've been a Maiden fan since 1980, when I first heard their self-titled, debut album on cassette. Yes, I'm a dinosaur🤣 Over 40 years later and they're still my favourite band. I'm originally from London, just down the road from where these guys started it all. Thanks for a great reaction and analysis and thank you for running all the credits at the end...total respect to you. Up the Irons!!!
I discovered Maiden in '85 when I was 9 years old and heard my best friends older brother was blasting Live After Death.. Still my favourite Maiden album! And favourite album in general!I know it's a live album and not studio but being one of the greatest live albums of all time and being my introduction to heavy metal in general, it has a lot of weight behind for me.
Dear Elizabeth, I love the appreciation you are showing Maiden. I grew up in the UK and feel no other band with longevity can be such epic, mature, and thoughtfully storytellers. I just "corrupted" my two younger nephews who like in Kenya (much to the chagrin of their parents). But when Mom read many of the lyrics she said Maiden was doing better than their history teachers)....
i may have learned ( or at least retained lol)more about alexander the great from one maiden song than what i did in highschool . empire of the clouds taught me a brief history of british airships, love that at least some of the band seem to be history nerds.
Bruce Dickinson has also done 7 solo albums. They mostly sound different to Iron Maiden. He has a beautiful song called "Tears of the Dragon" from the Balls to Picasso album. He has just released a brand new album called The Mandrake Project which might be the best of the 7. I recommend two songs from it. "Shadows of the Gods" and "Face in the Mirror".
Been a fan even before Bruce, that's a long time. This band understands metal and the fans who support them. Let us not forget Eddie he's been a part of them from day 1
It's amazing that the guys wrote and recorded this album back in 2019 on an 8 month down time from the legacy of the beast tour, and keep it under wraps. The band themselves forgot how it sounded till they listened to it again just before release. A legendary band.
14:45 man is so awesome to see Elizabeth looking and get surprised when he looks to the "entrance" of Eddie . her reaction is like she's looking at her favorite superhero. that's why Iron Maiden are so different from other bands. that emotion and longevity of theirs is a very rare thing. Up The Irons 🤟🏻
I think it is safe to say Elizabeth has become a full fledged Metalhead doing these reaction videos!!! I am stioll amazed that I first saw Maiden live over 40 years ago (pre Mr Dickenson) and they are still putting out fantastic material like this, It would be interesting to see Elizabeth react to something from one of the early albums with Paul on vocals.
I must confess that even though I was aware of Iron Maiden in my youth, I never fully appreciated them then (even though I liked individual songs like Aces High or Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner). I listen to some of their stuff with my older and wiser ears and I’m able to dial into them and appreciate them far more now than I did then
@@forceinfinity Yes, they grow on you. For a long time, I could not make up my mind who are the better artists, Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. And no offense to Judas Priest intended, they are a great band. But today I'm clearly in the Maiden camp.
I really want to see you dive into the Iron Maiden song "Empire of the Clouds" from Book of Souls. If i recall correctly Bruce said he wrote that as his final hurrah in case he woulnd't be able to sing after (or even survive) his throat cancer. The amount of emotion he puts into it is just heartwrenching along with the hauntingly beautiful guitar solos.
yeah, Bruce doesn't sound too bad for someone that recently had high energy radiation flying around his vocal chords! Loving this album - so glad they have fully embraced their progressive tendencies finally.
I, as a massive Maiden fan am properly impressed with your analysis and review of Maiden and their latest offering. You are obviously a very talented professional and very passionate about every aspect of music. It is particularly nice, as a heavy metal fan to have a, shall we say "more refined" critical overview of Maiden and heavy metal in general and i thank you for that. You were visibly excited at some of the riffs, parts of the video, vocal changes etc. It is a breath of fresh air to see music looked at in this level of detail. See you at Download festival next year, think Maiden might of converted you :-) Beers on me
I love how your eyes dance with the sounds... child in time, deep purple... I respect how you analyse the vocals, composition and history of a song. (guitars and vocal mixes and support sounds via percussion, bass, even to pin point vocal overlays and effects used) (beautiful) Thank you.
Bruce is someone who understands the changes in his voice and can still use it effectively. He is one of the greats because of his tonal quality and control. The big high belts aren't his forte anymore but you wouldn't know it unless you really listen.
Senjutsu is a masterpiece. We are thankful to the Gods of music for Iron Maiden and also we are very very lucky that we are living the same time period with them. Up the Irons from Greece 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I could listen to Adrian's solo over and over again. This album is Adrian's best guitar work and writing since Somewhere in Time. Adrian saves an Iron Maiden Album once again.
People argue that the Blaze albums are poorer quality because Bruce wasn't there - While this is true to an extent, they really (really) missed Adrian's songwriting skills. As much as I love Steve, those two records definitely needed more variety.
I could not disagree more! I think Harris is finally on track again and has the two best songs on the album (Hell on Earth and Lost in a Lost World). Adrian comes in at the rear end the second album in row, after Speed of Light now Writing on the Wall. Both are so mediocre. Adrian should quite Maiden in my opinion.
Adrian’s work on Bruce’s solo albums Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding made me realize just how much Maiden missed him. It was amazing news when they both rejoined.
I love this video. It was clearly styled after the works of Ralph Bakshi, such as Wizards, and The Lord of the Rings (animated), and has some fantastic dark, metal imagery. Bruce Dickinson is an absolute freak of nature. Singer, fencer, pilot, author, motivational speaker . . . what hasn't he done? Oh and at 63 years old he still sound amazing despite touring for longer than I've been alive and surviving cancer in his MOUTH!! Who better to analyze him than fellow natural wonder Elizabeth Zharoff (three college degrees, opera singer, producer, pianist, dancer, voice of an AI)
I love that you can listen to music you might not normally listen to and have such an appreciation of it. I have friends who say “I hate heavy metal”, but they haven’t even listened to Iron Maiden. You appreciate good music for being good music. ❤
I hope You will look at The Parchment, it's mostly instrumental but it has (in my opinion) one of the most emotional and heartbreaking moments in Bruce's vocal history. It's the "meet me there" phrase around 9:15. It is so strong.
Yep I still get goosebumps at that part even after about 100 listens. Also the end of Hell on Earth Love in anger, life in danger Lost in anger life in danger An amazing album, up the Irons.
I love how the song sounds nothing like Maiden but at the same time sounds so distinctly Maiden. well I guess thats what makes a band really great… evolving and creating new stuff while staying true to their essence. first thought on the new Eddie: oh dang, there goes all my money. i need all da merch XD
I think Bruce's voice has gotten better as he has gotten older. He's 63, he's beaten cancer, he has other activities that he has pursued and he still has a killer voice. I've always thought his voice has aged like fine wine. He's been my favorite singer since I discovered Iron Maiden back in 2006.
Piece of Mind is my favourite album for vocals because of the way he uses them. I miss the clean sound and insane range he had during the 80s, and piece of mind was relatively reserved in terms of musical style so they relied on him a lot in that one. That album belonged to him as far as I'm concerned. I love the later albums, particularly Dance of Death, but he does have to make some compromises due to aging. That's just my opinion though. My favourite album of all is Seventh Son of a Seventh Son because they all hit it so hard on that one.
@@-BuddyGuy That is a killer album.I saw Maiden for the first time on the Piece Of Mind Tour and when they opened with Where Eagles Dare I thought the roof was coming off.I never thought they could top that performance until I saw them a few years later on the Powerslave tour and they completely blew me away again.I think Powerslave has got to my favourite album of theirs although it's so hard to choose because I love a lot of the later stuff too.I know Bruce hasn't got the range he used to have but he's still doing a great job in my opinion.
You might want to consider "The Longest Day", a song based on the D-Day Invasion of Festung Europa (Fortress Europe) on June 6, 1944. Bruce Dickenson's lyrics capture the fear that the soldiers in the landing craft felt as they headed to the beaches of Normandy, many to their doom.
He dose the same with Passchendaele it give you the feeling 9f what was running through the soilders mids on the day of battle which too would be a great choice
It was Daniel that interpreted the writing on the wall at Belshazzar's feast. I'm pretty sure the motorcycle riders represent the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Love your channel.
Bruce is still amazingn live, im 30 now been listening to maiden for over 15 years, saw them live for the first time in June just gone and they honestly blew me away, From the impeccable playing (which i just found recently that bruce has publically said every show is completely live no back tracks at all, even more impressive!) But above all else my god the guy is a born showman, the energy, the engagement with the crowd, the banter, the stage tricks with his mic during singing etc just epic honestly hope i'll get to see them again one of my all time favourite bands!! Loving your deep dive into breaking it down, found your channel through tanks/wills channels so quite excited for the binge of videos to come lol hope alls good with you from the uk ✌🏼
Love the excitement on your face! Imagine what watching the premiere was like for me, a fan of iron maiden above all other music, for over 30 years. Maiden are like a religion to me. Absolutely brilliant.
16:25 'could be Mozart'...that was gold! Great that you appreciate the whole band, not just the vocals. As a guitarist I have been enjoying playing the riffs to this one (check out 'Stratego' too from the new album). The song is loosely based on Belshazzar's Feast from the Bible as you say; at the feast, a hand started writing on the wall, only Daniel could interpret it's meaning which was basically that Belshazzar's reign was over; he died that very night! A modern interpretation could be a warning to world leaders/governments to be upright, fair and just and to do the right thing...or else!
The world leaders will NEVER do the right thing! ever eVer eVEr EVEr!!!! This video is a fore warning of their fate and the fate of humanity that agrees with them, it's saying that they can't see it but it's over for them
Bruce talked about seeing the Rammstein video for Deutschland and was influenced by that, he wanted to do something similar in scope but of course not as visceral and not a million dollar short film, and these lyrics were written by Bruce as well as the video concept.
Amazing amount of symbolism in this video. I would love to see your reaction to some of the older Maiden videos/songs. My first time hearing them was the song Run to the Hills
Bruce worked with a high school friend of mine on the video, who was/is a MASSIVE Iron Maiden fan. Watched him draw stuff for years and I guarantee there is a heap load of little nuggets buried in that video. He was a big fan of Heavy Metal back in the day and the animation shows some of that influence as well. Its really special to have a band like this that continually puts out music with well-thought out lyrics and ideas - and its pretty cool to see the collective visualization.
Aces High was the first video I ever watched by them, I will never forget watching Bruce hit the high note at the end! The best part about Maiden is they never become stale, even if you’ve heard one song a million times it still sounds just as great as the first time you heard it
I think it would be really interesting to see you do a series of videos comparing vocalist's older and younger selves to see how they have evolved and adapted over time.
Your Facial expressions are adorable. I love how enthusiastic you are to every song you listen to and your insights are spot on. I think you should listen to William Hung to get an interesting sound.
Parchment/hell on Earth next please, the parchment he has an incredible vocals on, with huge length on notes and abundant with emotion. Probably the best vocals from the latest album, hell on Earth is also excellent in every aspect.
@@equiinferno Yes. circa 1981. (I'd include a link from iMDB, but it appears YT will reject the post... if not, you'll see the link in a previous reply) There was also a sequel, Heavy Metal 2000. However, there's quite a few that will say the sequel is inferior.
My buddy said the same thing before I saw the video. "Think of "Heavy Metal' video stylings with a certain special someone in the starring role". I was not disappointed. This is pure old school sensibilities, music and imagery. Totally awesome. Totally Maiden.
Bruce is the most consistent vocalist I've seen/heard sing Metal. He sounds the Same album to album. He never seems to lose his tone or strength with age
@SalBono I almost feel crazy to agree ... but you are so correct. Regardless of the venue, I've noticed he has more power and vibrancy in his voice live. It is NOT the thousands of watts of power either. Seems more of his tone comes through. I suspect his voice is difficult to record.
@@michaelmorgan8311 I went to see Maiden on the Brave New World Tour, with Priest and Queensryche. This was the next to last show on the tour. His voice sounded like the very first night of touring, and he had more energy than I think I've ever had. He ran all over that stage for 2 hours, and it blew me away what an athlete he was. It was then I realized he may be the best front man in all of music.
@@cdgee6399 bro no … he may be ??? Certainly He is best frontman ever. While most of the bands just perform on stage , Maiden have fun on stage and that drives the whole audience :) Just take a look at En Vivo Wasted years when Bruce runing and stealing Adrians microphone im always laughing at that part . So no more maybe pls :) Maidens doesnt deserve to be maybe :)
Yeah, I just watched the video for the first time, and my first thought, 10 seconds in, was, “they totally ripped off Heavy Metal.” 🤣 Edit: and by the way, Elizabeth, if you have not seen Heavy Metal-YOU MUST. With your fantasy, gaming, cosplay and musical interests, I can’t imagine how you would not enjoy it. Damn it, now I have to see if Heavy Metal is available to stream!
This song and video reminds me of Disturbed Vengeful One video. That video talks about total control of the media in the world. Dark Messiah, Vengeful One, hand of God comes down to correct the media.
I just found this channel with The Queen of the Night” video, and I can’t believe you’re covering this song. I’ve been obsessed with this album and this song specifically since it dropped. So glad you covered it!
I've watched a few of your reaction videos today. I loved them and hearing someone else appreciate music I've loved for years but adding your expertise helps me to understand those songs I've heard so many times in a different way. I loved hearing how you talked about Bruce lifting up his arms during Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I will gladly revisit this page in the future to hear and see more reactions from you. I've loved music for years and these reaction videos help me love them in new ways which is way cool. So thank you!
I watched this when Iron Maiden debuted it and that moment when Samurai Eddie is revealed was awesome! He’s one of the coolest Eddie incarnations already. To see your blown away reaction to a moment that is so huge for a Maiden fan is so cool. The 4 Eddies of the apocalypse are amazing too!
Highly recommend The Talisman and Dance of Death from En Vivo! Can't miss those incredible performances! One of Maidens best live shows and Bruce is fantastic!!
The best way to experience Iron Maiden is seeing them LIVE. I dont know if you have seen them already but is a out of this world experience. The energy is amazing !!! Up the Irons !!!
There are sooo many awesome music for you to evaluate Bruce’s vocals and the band, but maybe you should try “The Empire of the Clouds”. Perfect blend of vocal performance, lyrics, band AND an orchestra. The music is epic!
Hi Elizabeth, this is my first time listening to this song, and I loved the performance. It's amazing how the band can release one of their songs/albums after 40+ years, and produce a great animated music video that resembles and transcends the 1981 movie, "Heavy Metal." Thank you, Elizabeth!!! 💙
I think you're spot on about solos in Heavy Metal. They're supposed to highlight the theme of the song and/or the part of the song. Thank you for appreciating this artform of us plebes!
I'd love to see you react to Iron Maiden - Empire of the Clouds. It's from their 2015 album The Book of Souls and it is their longest song ever. It is written by Bruce Dickinson, and he tells the story of the R101 airship.
My first suggestion would be "Tears of the Dragon" live. th-cam.com/video/z7UhZZLD1vY/w-d-xo.html Amazing vocal performance and Bruce's solo work that is quite different to Iron Maiden songs. Bruce is using his voice totally differently in his solo work. Soft, mellow and powerful.
First I have to say that I'm so glad that I came across your videos. I love them. Second, being my favorite band, I'm glad you "discovered" Iron Maiden and see what an amazing singer Bruce Dickinson is. With that being said, here is a few recommendations. Blood Brothers - from Rock in Rio video Paschendale - from Death on the Road Video El Dorado - from The Final Frontier album Coming Home - from The Final Frontier album. Revelations - from Piece of Mind album Powerslave - from Somewhere Back in Time video. They have so many incredible songs to choose from. Keep up the great videos!
This entire album is stunning. As a life long Maiden fan, for me , this is in my top 5 of all time. Also one can write a PhD thesis to cover the symbolism, meaning and depth of this video. A masterpiece. I cant wait to here Bruce singing this LIVE. Up the Irons /m\ Also awesome review ! 🙏
Powerslave from Iron Maiden's album Powerslave is great, the Ancient Egyptian feel to it is fantastic. Also Paschendale from Dance Of Death is a great one, a great tribute to the fallen of World War One...
"Hell on Earth" - as the last song on the new album - is probably the catchiest one to analyze and will IMO definitely get cult status for the bands ongoing history.
Thanks for reviewing this song. Really enjoyed your comments and interpretation of the video. Ive got the new album for Christmas in vinyl and the artwork is stunning. Cant believe I listened to Iron Maiden as a teenager and am still listening to new albums decades later.
I discovered your channel a month or so ago and I am enjoying it very much. Iron Maiden has been my absolute favorite band for my entire life, and I'm in my mid 40's now lol. They are so masterful at their craft. Listening to them is like the best roller coaster on earth for me. I greatly appreciate your genuine assessment and obvious enthusiasm for Bruce's vocals (I think he's growing on you!) as well as the music itself, Maiden riffs are always catchy and stick with you. I must say, most reaction videos that stop often and comment frequently, I cannot watch, they drive me nuts. But the way you nerd out (I mean that in the best possible way!) over the nuances of technique and certain things only professionally trained people would notice, it reminds me of how I felt when I first discovered them so long ago. Three songs I would like to humbly request that you experience (I love them all btw) are, 1. Wasted Years from Somewhere in Time. 1986 2. Infinite Dreams from Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. 1988 3. Still Life from Piece of Mind 1983 Live performances are great because you get to see the real talent they have without all the studio magic, But I highly recommend listening to the original album versions. Live or Studio, I know you will enjoy it. Cheers! and Up The Irons!!!
It's amazing how good Bruce still sounds in his 60s, even after fighting and beating throat cancer. The new album is incredible, and much like Writing on the Wall, has a very dark atmosphere. I'd like to see your reaction to Hell on Earth, Stratego, Time Machine or Darkest Hour, all of them from this same album.
@@nadel-fu4wz I never said I expected more. The commenter above stated they they need to dail it back a bit, I was pointing out that they already had. Try to keep up.
OMG, you did it!!!!!!! You're the best!!! I am just about to watch this!!! As soon as Writing on the Wall came out, I've been looking forward to your reaction listening to it!
One of my favorite reviews you've done. I am a huge Maiden fan. I love all the symbolism in this video and if you noticed the horsemen are each a different type of Eddie, from previous albums. This song is filled with so much going on I love it. Best band ever and I'm glad you're enjoying their greatness lol. Up the Irons! 🤘 next song try something off of their "A matter of life and death" album. It never gets enough credit. Maybe "Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg"?
OK, so now that the insanity of live chat during the premiere is over, can I get some love for the suggestion that Elizabeth’s 1M subscriber party be a live reaction to Heavy Metal (the 1981 animated film)? 😁
I saw this mentioned on the official TH-cam clip - apparently at least some of the people involved in the original movie also worked on this Maiden project, hence the similarities :)
Exactly my thoughts! Adrian almost always has these amazing solos that bring so much more to the songs. This one especially (as for example in Wasted Years or Wicker Man) is the highlight of the song that raises the song to a new level. Adrian's solos are usually solos that are not there just for the sake of it but to build up the song. Just cannot express my admiration to his playing in English as it's not my native tongue but I just freaking love it!
This is the first time I have heard and seen this video. Thank you. I found it compelling, Invigorating and mindfully suggestive to our current directions we choose in our lives. Don't know if you've heard "Run to the Hills". It is quite an early song, but I used to play (on drums) with my very first band.
A very astute and heartfelt reaction... Share with my girlfriend who will be seeing Maiden Sept 27 2022... Her first, my 39th time... Wanted her to get a female perspective... She is very musically inclined, so your interpretation was best theat i would hope for in order for her to hear it from someone other than me... Thank you!!
More from the new album pleeease! I would recommend: Senjutsu Stratego Darkest Hour Hell on earth

Great analysis as always. Next time, I would like you to check "The Empire of the Clouds" . It is a song from their previous album (16th one) called Book of Souls
You should listen to “The Clansman” or “The Sign of the Cross” from Rock in Rio! An amazing performance from everyone in the band. Also please listen to: “Powerslave”, “Alexander The Great” and “The Prisoner”!
I really like dream of mirrors from that concert as well. Something about that song has always grabbed me, and while maybe not the most lauded Iron Maiden album of all time I really love it.
Ok your knowledge about vocals, music, your analysis is always top notch, but the most important thing is that you seem to be the sweetest person on earth...
We just released merchandise! Check out the full line-up here: thecharismaticmerch.com

Listen to the last song on the album..."Hell on Earth". The intro is three minutes long, the song stuck in my head immediately. I think you'd really love this one.
Beautiful statue behind the octopus. :)
Will you please analysing song "Seventh son of the seventh son" from Rock am Ring at Berlin 2014,please
I feel like a tea time interview with Bruce would be amazing.
YES, YES, YES! Me too! Who else agrees?!
I would pay for that, yesssss
We so need this!
Yes. Yes it would.
This. Must. Happen.
Bruce is a very cool man and wouldn't refuse it! She should do it!
For a man in his sixties who had a chunk of his TONGUE cut out thanks to cancer, Bruce sounds freaking AMAZING
Fuck yea
@Juan Kristian That was also before the surgery. His compressed style singing makes you a little less clear. Rob halford sometimes had it too but a lot less frequent. Still in terms of pitch both are amazing and bruce shows that he still has it.
Actually, Bruce said in an interview that if anything, the surgery on his throat, due to the cancer, rather helped his voice than harm it
Did he actually have a piece of his tongue cut out. I remember from his book him saying that due to the treatments he had for his cancer the entire top level of his tongue pealed off
Well, he hasn't. I had some 11 years ago, but He was treated with chemo and radiation therapy. Thank God for that!
Hell on Earth, the last song on Senjutsu, has vocals that will bring tears to your eyes.
Love this recommendation. Thanks!
Ill 2nd this plz do hell on earth .. ive just subbed
Hell on earth! Amazing song!
In terms of vocals it probably is the best song in the album
Seconded. Oh my GODS is it an amazing piece of art!
Things you never thought you would hear an opera singer say. “We are gonna go back because this instrumental is dope.” It is so great to watch your enjoyment of metal. You Rock!
I bet Freddy Mercury said something similar to that at one point lol.
He was an opera singer cosplaying a rockstar lol.
"When the Wild Wind Blows" is a personal favorite of mine from their more recent albums. Dickinson shows off his dynamic range on there very well.
Tears of a dragon for me
I love that one as well, the main guitar riff is very catchy. As most maiden riffs are.
there is many easter eggs to iron maiden history

Senjutsu is a masterpiece of an album. How on earth can Iron Maiden get better and better with age?! Up The Irons. 🤘🏻
2021 Covid. Maiden come out giving the fans something spectacular, pure energetic album from start to finish.
experience and development! ;)
as a long time fan of Iron Maiden, I would disagree. To me it is the worst album with Bruce as singer. His vocals are not so pronounced due to illness. Not bad actually but not as good as previous albums. And the most tracks are quite dull. but everyone is different
@@lonelygrayling he's getting older, of course. His voice was better when he was younger, that's a natural course of life
@@lonelygrayling When I first listened to it, my first thought was that is sounded a little anemic. Then I realized my observation was ironic.
its something special when someone is a 63yr old cancer survivor and can still sing hard enough to front a metal band!
You mean loud enough. Are you Dutch?
Paschendale should definitely be your next Iron Maiden experience!
For your own amusement if nothing else, you might want to listen to the entirety of Seventh Son of A Seventh Son if you haven't. It's a concept album. Also, it's the first one on which Bruce wrote a bunch of the songs, and it's basically a "Rock Opera."
By far my favorite play-thru album - every song is an 8 it rips nonstop till the end
Indeed!!
First album of theirs I heard, my cousin brought it when it first came out and we listened to it non stop. I was 11 and it help sculpt my musical journey.
My favorite Maiden album!!!
And favourite album in general!I know it's a live album and not studio but being one of the greatest live albums of all time and being my introduction to heavy metal in general, it has a lot of weight behind for me.
i'm with you all my heart, Up the Irons, from Finland!

No ... you embraced them !! In Germany many Symphonicists like thme to ... and there should be more adaptations to them !
i may have learned ( or at least retained lol)more about alexander the great from one maiden song than what i did in highschool . empire of the clouds taught me a brief history of british airships, love that at least some of the band seem to be history nerds.
Hell on earth. Awesome.
I believe that at this point I can say that we have a new member in Maiden's family. You're very welcome Elizabeth. Up the irons!
Been a fan even before Bruce, that's a long time. This band understands metal and the fans who support them. Let us not forget Eddie he's been a part of them from day 1

Paul Di’Anno is indeed a long time ago. I didn’t get into Maiden until about ‘84 or ‘85. Respect to an OG! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
"We're going to go back an listen to this instrumental solo again because it's dope!" best quote lol
It's amazing that the guys wrote and recorded this album back in 2019 on an 8 month down time from the legacy of the beast tour, and keep it under wraps.
The band themselves forgot how it sounded till they listened to it again just before release.
A legendary band.
i saw them 2 years ago and Bruce told the crowd that they were working on new material for the next album
@@paulriddle7818 I remember that, also help they pump out an album in 4-5 weeks from what i've read
Yes she has
I must confess that even though I was aware of Iron Maiden in my youth, I never fully appreciated them then (even though I liked individual songs like Aces High or Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner).
I love that song, it's so epic!
Damn song makes tears well up in my eyes every damn time I listen to it. Very powerful!
Yep amazing song, with heart breaking story. The song just builds up in intensity. RIP the passengers & crew.

yeah, Bruce doesn't sound too bad for someone that recently had high energy radiation flying around his vocal chords! Loving this album - so glad they have fully embraced their progressive tendencies finally.
Recently? I thought the cancer was 2015.
I'm in agreement on the Irons finally embracing prog.
There's nothing "progressive" about this tune.
If anything, it's REgressive, as nearly every band in the 90's featured this type of song.
One of my favorite Iron Maiden albums is Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, wich has kind of prog vibe on it.

See you at Download festival next year, think Maiden might of converted you :-) Beers on me
Admirable for a 62 yr old vocalist, and the band still releasing new music after 40+ yrs.
This album is a return to old-school Maiden. Love, love this album and this was a great lead single. Great job! Up the Irons!
Senjutsu is a masterpiece. We are thankful to the Gods of music for Iron Maiden and also we are very very lucky that we are living the same time period with them. Up the Irons from Greece 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love her analyses of Maiden tracks. It's so cool how she breaks down the intricacies of each song.
@@BanjoSick Adrian should leave Maiden? I am pretty sure you are pretty alone with that opinion and for a good reason.
@@BanjoSick Had a good laugh at that one. Adrian leaving maiden a good thing?
Adrian’s work on Bruce’s solo albums Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding made me realize just how much Maiden missed him. It was amazing news when they both rejoined.
You gotta check out their song "Hell on Earth". Easily the best song from their new album
Agree
Agreed as well.
Except for the excess synths during the intro.
hell on earth ,my favorite too .
Best on the album for sure.

Also the end of Hell on Earth
Love in anger, life in danger
Lost in anger life in danger
An amazing album, up the Irons.
That is a good line, however, "Lost in anger..." to end "Hell on Earth" gets me every time. Powerful stuff.
Fabulous vocal guitar harmonies
Yeah, his cancer was throat cancer.... 🤯
Amazing voice and energy as well... 😎

Three years til that shot does him in or was it Saline or nothing at all?
@@-BuddyGuy That is a killer album.I saw Maiden for the first time on the Piece Of Mind Tour and when they opened with Where Eagles Dare I thought the roof was coming off.I never thought they could top that performance until I saw them a few years later on the Powerslave tour and they completely blew me away again.I think Powerslave has got to my favourite album of theirs although it's so hard to choose because I love a lot of the later stuff too.I know Bruce hasn't got the range he used to have but he's still doing a great job in my opinion.
I've watched your vids for a couple, three years and I LOVE your break downs. Keep up the great work. X

Hearing this song again was just like the first time. Brilliant. Definitely thin’ you’d appreciate hell on Earth by maiden
Hell on Earth is best song on the album
Absolutely! It's an amazing song.
Hell on Earth is my favourite too from Senjutsu.
Bruce is still amazingn live, im 30 now been listening to maiden for over 15 years, saw them live for the first time in June just gone and they honestly blew me away,
From the impeccable playing (which i just found recently that bruce has publically said every show is completely live no back tracks at all, even more impressive!)
But above all else my god the guy is a born showman, the energy, the engagement with the crowd, the banter, the stage tricks with his mic during singing etc just epic honestly hope i'll get to see them again one of my all time favourite bands!!
The best part about Maiden is they never become stale, even if you’ve heard one song a million times it still sounds just as great as the first time you heard it
Wasted Years for me. Forever solidified them being my favourite all time band over all genre.

@SalBono I almost feel crazy to agree ... but you are so correct. Regardless of the venue, I've noticed he has more power and vibrancy in his voice live. It is NOT the thousands of watts of power either. Seems more of his tone comes through. I suspect his voice is difficult to record.

Powerslave from Iron Maiden's album Powerslave is great, the Ancient Egyptian feel to it is fantastic. Also Paschendale from Dance Of Death is a great one, a great tribute to the fallen of World War One...
Bruce never fails on those vocals... I think Bruce is the type who would quit if he couldn't put out an acceptable product.

Three songs I would like to humbly request that you experience (I love them all btw) are,
1. Wasted Years from Somewhere in Time. 1986
2. Infinite Dreams from Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. 1988
3. Still Life from Piece of Mind 1983
Live performances are great because you get to see the real talent they have without all the studio magic,
But I highly recommend listening to the original album versions.
Live or Studio, I know you will enjoy it.

That's how ya do it! Video awesome! Vocals awesome! Symbolism deeeep! 11/10. Fantastic.
I remember that movie. I need to watch it again it been too long haha
Yeah, this video reminded me a lot of that movie, "Heavy Metal", both in some of its dark, apocalyptic imagery and its overall sound.
@@amydevol8224 Hell yes!
Glad (but not surprised) to see others felt the old school Heavy Metal vibe. Like visuals and the feel from Den or Druuna or Taarna !
I saw this mentioned on the official TH-cam clip - apparently at least some of the people involved in the original movie also worked on this Maiden project, hence the similarities :)
You will not regret to do next "The Parchment" and "Hell On Earth" from their new album! I really can't tell which one is greater than the other!!
Agree. Two best songs from the album in my opinion.
This song/album is absolutely magical. The sound and feel Maiden have is absolutely unmatched
I love how you light up and your natural shock at the music
best part of the song is Adrian's solo. Go back and listen without stopping it
Smith is the best part of Maiden, period. For me, he’s up there with LaRocque, Buckethead, and Waters.
Just cannot express my admiration to his playing in English as it's not my native tongue but I just freaking love it!
i think it's one of is best solos ever!
@@aaronperretta4303 Andy Laroque💪💪💪
When his solos kick in straight after a Janick solo, there's a huge sense of relief... What a player
I love how they stylized the riders like Ringwraiths on motorcycles. The video for Stratego is pretty intense as well.
Thank you!!
Very bad spelling on my part...
The band that just keeps giving! Love Maiden for life!
A lifetime is not enough. ❤
More from the new album pleeease! I would recommend:
Senjutsu
Stratego
Darkest Hour
Hell on earth
Great analysis as always. Next time, I would like you to check "The Empire of the Clouds" . It is a song from their previous album (16th one) called Book of Souls
You should listen to “The Clansman” or “The Sign of the Cross” from Rock in Rio! An amazing performance from everyone in the band. Also please listen to: “Powerslave”, “Alexander The Great” and “The Prisoner”!
I totally agree but Sign of the Cross in particular should be the original version with Blaze 🤘🏻
Or just the entire Rock in Rio concert lol. One of my absolute favorite live shows
I really like dream of mirrors from that concert as well. Something about that song has always grabbed me, and while maybe not the most lauded Iron Maiden album of all time I really love it.
Wow I loved your reaction on this video Elizabeth! Also the Kree thing, that was awsome 🤣🤣❤
Thanks! ❤
Ok your knowledge about vocals, music, your analysis is always top notch, but the most important thing is that you seem to be the sweetest person on earth...
