We have a total of 4 MP7s in house. An electric TM which is over 20 years old & still going strong, 2 GBB TMs bought last year, bought last year, they were our first GBBs that weren't pistols & mind blowing compared to the AEG. I've just had the VFC version for my 70th. birthday & now the TMs feel like toys, no contest in my book.
Thanks for doing this mate, I've owned both and still have my VFC, I have to say, for me it's VFC all day every day. The biggest turn off of the TM is the lack of 1:1, I had mag issues and lots of breakages. The VFC has never missed a beat.
i had the vfc one for about 4 months and here are all the common and very annoying problems i had to face: 1-it's an absolute pain in the ass to fully open/clean and upgrade, mainly the barrel and hop up 2-the bolt is made of a very weak pot metal and eventually the bolt catch will stop working because when you run out of bbs a steel rod forces its way in front of the bolt chipping it away. 3-the backplate is bound to eventually crack sooner or later 4- 2 of the 3 magazines simply stop feeding because the follower gets stuck at random in the middle of a firefight 5-the hop up is really weak (that could be because i'm forced to play at 1j in my country, could be different for your limits. solutions: 1-learn how to fully open the gun via youtube or the exploded view of the gun 2-as you start to notice wear on your bolt sand it so you get a perfect edge (it's really hard to explain by words, you'd have to see it) or just buy a new bolt and pray that it lasts as long as possible 3-buy an alluminum backplate (arsenal tactical) 4-buy another spring and if that doesn't work put something under the spring so it there's more tension on the follower making it harder for it to get stuck at the cost of a few rounds upgrade the standard rubber with a poseidon or other standard gbb buckings/barrels when i got it i had no experience with gbbs so now that i do and know how to fix everything i will get one in the future again, this is NOT a beginner friendly gun if you want tho learn the basics on how to open, clean and maintain a gbb, hope this helped
I like the vfc better being that it is one to one scale of the real steel. Yes the mags are more expensive and I myself still need to order at least three to field it. All in all it was a wish fulfilled purchase and I’m looking forward to making a full gear setup for it. Absolutely love it. On a side note this VFC MP7 replica now joins my KWA MP9/ Maruyama APC9Kg/WE tech MP5 A3/ and APFG MPX gbb. I love the smg class
Its nice finally seening more reviews and comparisons of the vfc gen 2 mp7. Its such a great gbb gun in my opinion and totally worth those extra 20 bucks. converting the gun to hpa would probably be a better choice than buying those expensive mags too. which the vfc could *probably* handle better than the TM ofb. I cant say much on the TM mp7 as I don't own one, but all in all the vfc is just a very fun gun to shoot and skirmish with.
I just bought a TM Mp7 literally a week ago, i looked for a comparison just like this but couldnt find one, so i bought the TM because i heard out of the box it has a better hop up and internals in general. I'm relatively new to airsoft, and I'm not familiar with upgrades so hearing that it seemed like a no brainer to get the one that performs better out of the box. I discovered on my own while maintaining it that the body pins dont fit in the stock and that was a huge let down. I also have big hands, and my pinky rests just past the magwell on the grip, i wonder if the VFC would have been a perfevt fit. I know that the TM is a fantastic GBBR, but man i wish I'd seen this video prior to purchasing. 1:1 scale, proper bolt release operation, lighter, heavier recoil, higher fps, and more durable materials? Hard to justify buying the TM over the VFC.
I have a TM MP7, and my friend has a VFC. I have used both extensively, and honestly, I prefer my TM. The VFC feels cheap to me. The plastic funnily enough feels creakier and cheaper than the TM. I am also one of the rare people that likes the smaller scale of the TM. It’s a PDW for CQB, and for that reason, I prefer the more compact size of the TM. Maybe it’s the steel reinforcement inside the TM, but it just feels more substantial and sturdy than the VFC. Also, my big standard TM outperformed her VFC. Just my experience and two cents on this
Hi there, thanks for the comment, if your looking to upgrade the vfc, then head over to clutch precision as they have amazing upgrades for it, and I'm really not being paid to say that.
Hi there, no, mine never broke. The main braking point is the dicast stock latch. Under heavy recoil, the latch can fail. The original back plate is plastic, so getting the clutch precision cnc aluminium back plate is a good idea as it comes with full steel parts like the stock latch. Clutch precision does so many upgrades to suit your needs.
I've got my heart set on a TM MP7, mainly because I enjoy the many upgrades you can do to them but also I know I burn through mags. Thank you for the honest comparison though. Any thoughts on the leaky mags or cracking shells etc?
Hi there, the TM mags do leak over time, mainly with the change from warm summer to cold winter. The shell of the TM is abs plastic, but as you can see in the comparison video, there are a lot of reinforcements inside. There is no cracking, as that's mainly on the KWA version.
easy solution if you're going thru mags like a crack junkie is to buy a secondhand set of MP7 for slightly cheaper 😋 ... thats how I was able to get 8 mags for the price of 2x guns or 8x mags without the usual wear/tear on my pewpews 🤣 ... prolly doesnt apply over in the UK but I now have an outdoor VFC (410fps) and an indoor (340fps) VFC .... also if one breaks (body or bolt) in a major milsim, I just swap pewpews/bolts
I watched a vfc vs Kwa, vfc won, now vfc vs TM and vfc won, so my question is, does any other MP7 beat the VFC version? I mainly go for how loud and thumpy sounding it is over everything else....
IMO ... having fired the TM, KSC and owning the WE and currently VFC .... tops would be indeed the TM and VFC. agreed, if you have either TM/VFC, no need to buy either-or ... but if you're starting off, getting the VFC would be best if playing "milsim" and getting TM if you're a typical "action airsofter" due to parts issue. TM/KSC has about the same amount of kick, efficiency, accuracy and physical size, but the TM will have much better parts (OEM or aftermarket) support ... both the WE/VFC has an insane amt of kick and are full sized, but the VFC wins due to, like the TM/KSC, good efficiency & accuracy but a bit lacking on parts overall
I've been watching videos on these a bit as I'm an Airgunner rather than an Airsofter but the Rep we got was a god awful looking break barrel that barely resembles the MP7 so I'd been looking at Airsoft versions to build my Half Life 2 collection, I think this has settled it as being the Umarex/VFC version when the time comes as not only is it seemng the be the correct dimensions having that rail means it can potentially have the set up of the ingame version more (in case you've not played it the ingame has an underbarrel grenade launcher with a fixed handle).
Tokyo Marui MP7 isn't a 1:1 replica of the real steel whereas the VFC is. Not sure at all why Marui did this but its a major deal breaker for me. I'm very happy with my 1:1 scale VFC MP7A1 GBB in RAL8000. Also "Koch" is pronounced 'Coke' like the drink. Good video and comparisons!
No, it's pronounced like a penis with a bit of a sore throat. Kochh! Coke is what American boys call it to avoid trouble with 'mom' eavesdropping! The TM and KWA are smaller because they were produced from a scaled drawing without a real size given (so the story goes) TM assumed it was full sized, KWA copied.
Yeah, I also think its wrong. Not german, but learned for years .. And I really wouldnt read it coke. Maybe if youre trying to make it more american which is american thing to do :ddd @@AcePotato_
From what I've heard the reason why the marui isn't 1:1 is because they got the wrong length measurements due to using the length of the original MP7 prototype which lacked the flash hider.
I presume it's obvious, but can you confirm if mags are compatible between any of the gbb mp7s? I realize these are mostly proprietary, but with VFC mags being 90 bucks and TM mags being 20 on WGCshop, it's tempting to look into conversions lol
Hi there, there are always parts that will break on any airsoft replica and especially gbb ones. With the vfc, people say the back plate and/or stock catch brakes, but in my experience with both tm and vfc, that's not been the case. Both run awesome. Most issues are down to excessive wear with gas/hpa levels cranked up a little too high, but replacement parts and heavy duty ones too are easily found and affordable.
I have the vfc mp7 aeg and the marui gbb but i didnt use it yet i got it second hand and the only issue he had was leaking mags, the mp7 aeg vfc one was like 500€ tho but its a beast
Seen many Maruis breaking its "metal" chasis, I mean the Marui mp7 is a gun for 1 year, after that you better throw it into te trash can and buy a new one, not to mention their leaky mags...
Hi there, unless you're buying second-hand, you should not need to worry as all vfc mp7's are gen2 now. But to be sure, the best way is the bolt carrier has a steel plate where the bolt stop engages. The mp7a1 navy review I made explained some of the improvements over the gen1. Hope that helps.
@@MiddleAgeGameruk that's why, I wanted to know, it's going to be second hand. What worries me is I hardly see any accessories and when I find them they're extremely expensive.
ha ha ha! i thought i ws the only dork who uses painters tape on any accessories that could srcatch my rails of my etal guns!! awesome.i always have a sharpie too but not many of my aeg's are black anymore. if you use them they get injuries but why wouldnt someone take the time to protect it as much as they can. my guns arent crazy expensive but they are all 400+ so i am a little anal about them. i ax my inner barrels after i clean them and compressed air to get dirt and dust out. the toy guns you have had on this chanel seem to be about perfect.i just saw that red dot with something under it for the rail. youre all right in my book and snce your 1st video youve never steered me wrong. this is what a real youtube channel is. others could take note. cheers my friend. if you do anything crazy in terms of anal retentiveness let me know. im always looking for little tips to keep my toys in great condition.
Enjoy the extremely weak recoil, non-vsr spec barrel/packing, subpar stock range and groupings, nozzle return springs that get instantly destroyed, not having a npas stock, garbage silicon based packing that will swell, piston cup seal that is just plain stupid, and the best part about the kwa, the receiver breaking off even though it has about one tenth of the recoil of a vfc because kwa abs plastic is a joke

same here - vfc replicas hands down here too
Just finished watching your Tokyo Marui gbb reveiw when I saw your live. thanks for being the only person i have watched who does the review of both!
Finally a review of the two best MP7 gbb platforms! Thank you!!
i had the vfc one for about 4 months and here are all the common and very annoying problems i had to face:

5-the hop up is really weak (that could be because i'm forced to play at 1j in my country, could be different for your limits.
solutions:
1-learn how to fully open the gun via youtube or the exploded view of the gun
2-as you start to notice wear on your bolt sand it so you get a perfect edge (it's really hard to explain by words, you'd have to see it) or just buy a new bolt and pray that it lasts as long as possible
3-buy an alluminum backplate (arsenal tactical)
4-buy another spring and if that doesn't work put something under the spring so it there's more tension on the follower making it harder for it to get stuck at the cost of a few rounds
upgrade the standard rubber with a poseidon or other standard gbb buckings/barrels
when i got it i had no experience with gbbs so now that i do and know how to fix everything i will get one in the future again, this is NOT a beginner friendly gun if you want tho learn the basics on how to open, clean and maintain a gbb, hope this helped

@@aweebitunorthodox3214 No, completely different companies and VFC is also an Asian company, founded in Taiwan.
