Detailed reviews, extremely informative and real steel background. Makes Airsoft Mike look a channel for Kindergartens with that annoying voice and childish reviews. How is this still a 1k subs channel ?!? Keep going man!!
Nice, this video is very helpful because I have one gen 2 and two gen 3 hk416 a5’s. I wasn’t able to tell the differences other then the bolt carrier. Thanks for the info I’m gonna check them out when I get home. Great video 👍🏾
I have 416a5 from December 2022, it’s got v3 nozzle. I experienced firing pin problem last week ( after 10-13 thousand bbs), all I had to do is to change spring for better one (original is pretty soft), and that’s it. Replica was shooting poorly l, so I changed hop up rubber to maple leaf super 60 degree and it’s much better. I still think it can do better- nozzle is not holding too strong in rubber, but now using 0.36 bbs at 1.6J I have no problem hitting torso from 65m, and 1 of 3 bbs is hitting torso from 75m. I’m waiting for vfc to make L85 or lr-300(it’s my small dream :D )
Time mark 13:30. The V2 firing pin fails because the allen head screw that holds the mechanism down backs off and the firing pin becomes misaligned. I solved this problem myself by using locktite on the screw and it never backed out again and has never failed again. I straightened the conical spring by compressing it with the head of an ink pen. Remember this if you have that failure and can't get a new firing pin set. Lock tite the allen head screw that holds the firing pin in place right now and you wont have that problem if you havent had it yet. th-cam.com/video/LF4QJcX5n5k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JAjWq85zSdaGQfs9
6:30 hey, in his review REAPERs Airsoft said the gen3 416 still uses a zinc alloy bolt carrier. You can check his review of the gen3 at around 42:30. Just wanted to let you know.
Hi there, thanks for the heads up. Having had a look into it, the first and second batch dose come with the zinc bolt carrier, and the steel was limited at first to the very limited forged reciver version. As the forged version has now finished, the recent batch has had steel bolt carriers to be in line with other v3 vfc gbbrs. I will be getting a recent batch 416 in the near future to compare.
Been needing a decent run down videos like yours on more RIF'S, really interested in seeing the diffrences as im hoping to pick one up long with a vfc apc9 soon, would it be posaible to send you a rif for review.
Awesome video - great detail and a refreshing change to the usual “sponsored” videos (Declared or otherwise). I’ve been undecided on which GBBR to go for or even whether to go for one at all, but your videos have been super useful and helpful in making my decision. Do you have any views on upgrades recommended for the Gen3 or will it be great out of the box?
Hi there, the gen 3 rifles are really good out of the box. The only chainge would be the inner barrel and bucking if you're thinking of outdoor gameplay, but if it's cqb, then it should be good to go. Just remember most gbbrs need a good break-in, a period of approximately 1k rounds to smooth out the action and settle in the bucking. Hope that helps.
@@MiddleAgeGameruk that’s useful - thanks - disappointing that a £600 RIF needs a replacement barrel. What sort of accurate range can you expect with the new barrel and bucking at 1.1J?
the restrictor in the gen3 nozzle can be removed, removing it on the 416D gen 3 boosts the fps from 370 to 420 i got lucky witeh my 416A5 it has the adjustable npas nozzle and the thicker valve striker of the Gen3
Hi there, when looking through the restrictor, you can see the npass is there, and I do plan on removing the restrictor in time or replacing the nozzle with the spare I have.
Hi you said around min 3.15. New mcx coming. Are vfc making a mcx? Like a rifle version not the mini rattler? Will it be licensed? How u find this out details details! Gbb?
Hi there, the MCX I was referring to is the following from APFG, which is a subsidiary of VFC. Sadly, still no trademarks due to Sig Saur. www.proactstore.com/products/apfg-mcx-virtus-keymod-gbb
i got offer gen 2 mk18 mod 1 for 40% discount but i need to fix hammer is it worth it? also i have experience for pistol but this will be my first for ar, what do you think
Hi there, having owned many vfc gen2 gbbrs, they are a great option, but that would depend on the damaged hammer and it's connected parts. I personally would go for the gen3 due to its more reliable fireing pin system and overall improvements.
Hi there, one of the main differences between gen2 and gen3 was a compleat redesign of the firing pin unit. For the gen3, it is a drop-in unit and required vfc to redesign the lower to fit it. You can use v3 hop, trigger group, buffer, and bolt carrier, but sadly, not the v3 fireing pin in a gen2.
Awesome video ! I had a quick question , will the v3 stanag fit in the 416? I tried my rattler magazine it came with (the v3 stanag) and the magazine catch won’t catch
Hi there, if you're asking, if the gen2 can except the gen3 firing pin unit, then no, sorry to say that's not possible due to significant differences in reciver design. You can, however, replace the lower receiver with a gen3 lower no problems. Xin chào from the uk
@@MiddleAgeGameruk I have a 2nd gen VFC HK416a I imported from Asia and I'd like to gut the internals and try and make something really nice. What would you recommend? Hop up system and inner barrel?
OK, then there's not much needed to chainge, a tight bore inner barrel and bucking, and if you eventually brake the fireing pin, return spring, then check out action airsoft as they have a drop in chainge for it. You can use the npass in the nozzle to increase the fps or lower depending on the site limit
Hi there, no, it will wear in over time. It's there for just a bit of extra material support and for other compatible platforms like the saw 249 gbb to guarantee a positive lock, etc.

Hi Andy, love your detailed videos. I have the VFC M733 V3 now and i love it. Do you know by any change if the V3 have a mil spec buffer tube?
Hi there, yes, the buffertube is millspec in its dimensions. You can fit real steel handguards, buffertubes, barrel nuts, grips, etc..

Hi there, the stanag v3 will fit the hk 416 as I had no problems there, but the hk mag will not fit the rattler.
Thank you sir!
Hey mate who was it you were importing it through ?
Hi there, the usual shops I go to are WGCshop in Hong Kong or Action Airsoft. Hope that helps.
Very very well done m8. Awesome vid, thanks !!! BUT the V3 carrier is zink alloy and the v2 one is steel, not the other way.
Considering the v2 has a steel insert, I’d say you’re wrong.
FYI I just bought a gen 3 version here in Sweden and it has a zink bolt...
