Christmas festival was always my favorite. Enjoyed it way more than sleigh Ride. I got to play it in a local youth orchestra and at Disney as the only tuba player. The brass chorale parts in the orchestra version is lit
NICE PERFORMANCE! I’ve been an instrumental music teacher since 1990, and a trombonist since 1987, so you can believe what I say. (And that is a sweet bassbone- looks like what I played back in the day in high school Jazz Ensemble.) You have a great future as a musician, whether you decide to major in it, or choose something else and play in the band for fun. Best wishes to you!
That’s kinda how it is when you get to professional levels. You only use the sheet music when you are learning the piece and in case you forget something in the moment.
@@HelloooThere Well, no it's not. Apparently this is a high school. Still, even in low-level marching and concert band, sheet music is nonessential at performances. I'm in eighth grade and I rarely look at my sheet music during our concerts.

Im a saxophone player lol, so im not 100% sure what a great tone on most brass sounds like, but from my experience, I love your tone!
Honestly you don’t have to be a trombone player, if you like the tone then it’s good 👍
It really is.
Since I got the chance to use a bass trombone 2 months ago I’ve watched alot for bass trombone and they have a perfect tone
Me too. I’m first chair tenor in my 8th grade concert band. This guy is great though. Our trombones could never.
Brings back fond memories for a tuba player of many years ago. Good job!
nice! you nailed the lick at 1:10
100%
What are licks
And
What are chops
@@LooseBajayjay a difficult/fast passage such as 1:10
@@JoeDFWAviation more of a run though lick is a jazz term
I played this piece in orchestra and absolutely loved it!!! Such a fun piece to play and very festive too :)
The thing I enjoy about bass trombones, is that they can get just as high as tenor trombones, but they can also get lower than other trombones.
I played this exact song a month ago on trumpet
brings back memories. We played a different arrangement but dang, the base bone part is so fun.
I graduated in 1989 and we played this same piece every year in high school.
YOU SOUND SO GOOD!!!! seeing all these Christmas festival povs on my recommended makes me super jealous my school doesn't do one lol
Thank you for this. I see all the sleigh ride perspectives but not as many Christmas Festival perspective videos
I love how this has become a thing now, I want to do it but I will most likely get wacked for it. I’m an alto and tenor sax player
I played Euphonium for this piece in my school’s band, love it!
Thanks really fun to hear this again like this. I played this in HS band in 1979 and as a baritone sax player, has a lot of the same lines.
We played this same arrangement in High School in 1973-75.
I play 2nd trombone for this piece and I really enjoyed it. I have the christmas concert next week and I'm excited.
The tubas have beautiful sound
4:53 starting dashing through the snow.
This was the best video I could ask for go trombones!
Y’all’s band is great 😊
i really wish i played trombone now

Did you have the piece memorized? Looks like you were watching the Conductor the entire time.

@@liamsamples oh, I didn’t know that was professional

I played baritone that was our music. Don't know there was a base trombone
bro can you please send me full music sheet??
One or two of the pieces sounded like they were in different keys. How do you play a sharp or flat note to fit those keys?
Overall that was amazing, the trombones sounded a little out of tune at times, great job
Which trombone do you play?
So I have decided to move from a tenor trombone to a bass trombone and I was wondering if you have any tips for somebody who is just starting.
lots of air
Practice long tone a lot
