This is truly one of the most rewatchable films of the 21st century. Every time I watch it I feel like only an hour has passed and every element of its making is absolutely top notch
@@augustgreig9420 it honestly kind of is. Sure citizen Kane is more revolutionary and a better film simple judged on filmmaking alone (it's also one of my favorite movies), but being 30 years old, The Social Network just speaks to me a whole lot more. Simply based on this generation
The complexities of these characters gives the overall narrative a three dimensionality to it and you really feel for these characters that were betrayed such as Eduardo played by (Andrew Garfield). I don't know what really happened in the real situation but the film was very compelling and drew me in through the complex nature of the characters in which drives the story.
I've read a lot of books and watched a lot of videos about characters' wants and needs, but this is the first series I've seen that clearly defined wants and needs and highlighted the differences between the two.
A 3D animated short, available of youtube, called “Alleycats”, is also another best example of this kind of ending. A ninja-cat protagonist, kills the antagonist, a worrier-cat, for killing our protagonist’s father (getting his want), but only to realise he had a son, and fail to realise that he needed to forgive, and move on to find peace (not getting his need).

How about one of the most overrated? People DON'T talk like that. Not to mention he claimed it wasn't exaggerated when in fact it was a lie. His writing calls attention to the writer, not the characters.
I always wanted to tell The Godfather from The Social Network in regard to a story structure, which was so tricky that I haven't been able to tell. Now I can tell because of you StudioBinder!
"ZUCC is a sweet looking 19 year old whose lack of any physically intimidating attributes masks a very complicated and dangerous anger. He has trouble making eye contact and sometimes it's hard to tell if he's talking to you or to himself." - That sounds like me, alright, except for being sweet or 19.
More specifically, need is an internal desire that drives the character's actions through their arc. Our companion article goes in-depth on this if you're interested! www.studiobinder.com/blog/how-to-end-a-story/
In the screenplay, in the climatic scene Aaron calls back to the opening scene with Sean’s character telling Mark that he was gonna introduce him to girls he wouldn’t normally get to meet and then Sean walks off to check if they’ve crossed 1,000,000 users and mark mutters “you’d do that for me?” sarcastically. I wonder why they chose to omit that from the movie. Maybe too on the nose I suppose. I feel like it’s plausible enough a statement Sean would make and obviously the point of the scene is Mark reflecting on how far they’ve come at the cost of his relationships
