    LOVE the "Art Deco" Look, but personally, I would have used the Wire that was originally on it!

    I've watched all but 4 of the videos in the Ugly Duckling playlist, and so far this is the most impressive transformation! Not only did you make it an art piece, but it's unrecognizable from it's pre-transformation state!

    Great idea !! Big transformation! I recently took out glass and replaced in with fabric. Since I wanted a very clean inside, I used hot glue, to hold in place then mod podge it. Just the edge.. It's holding up great. Have done the same method with burlap then trimmed the edges clean.

  • @patmontalbano290
    @patmontalbano290 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Have to say it turned out beautiful, thanks for the gold painting tip. I thought it was raw wood from thumbnail. If using burlap again try a tighter weave, and iron it with spray scratch , it will keep fabric from pulling too much. So why did you fill the door edging with pudgy? Wouldn’t it have been better to put fabric in slot and then hold it in with a small quarter round or dowel. Canning would have worked too.

    • @TheMissFlips
      @TheMissFlips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! You’re capable of a compliment! It’s an honor to receive one from such a harsh critic! I’m not too sure I know what you mean with the dowels though. How would that work? Is there a video you’d recommend for this so I can get a visual?

    • @quarrel05
      @quarrel05 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking that also maybe the dowel and a small nail to tack it in and have a more finished look but then I said well maybe she didn’t decide to go that path at the start when she was filling it in! But it did turn out great 👍

    I watched a couple of your other videos before this, this one turned impressively different!
    I have a question and it may be a silly one but, is it safe to use a regular household vacuum to clean after sanding? I've heard that they could become damaged by some construction materials (like plaster).

      Honestly, I’m not sure. I got my vacuum from Home Depot and it’s a shop vac so it works great!

    I'm so impressed with way you re-invented the cabinet. The bottom portion of this piece is absolutely gorgeous! However, in my opinion, the top piece doesn't do it justice at all. In fact it takes away from the beauty of the piece. The burlap seems more farmhouse decor than Art Deco and looks like an after-thought. Overall though I did give you a like and subscribed. I look forward to checking out your other videos.

      Thank you so much! Welcome to the fam 🥰 yeah, honestly, I’m not 100% pleased with it either. The burlap just fit the theme of it being a coffee bar so I kept it. If it was you, what would you put in place of the burlap?

    Would like to know how you kept that drawer from sticking again! Is there a permanent solution? Love the transformation.

      Thank you! Yeah, the drawer slide on the right ended up being loose at the back end. All I had to do was glue it down and nail it

      Yes, I also thought the solution could have been mentioned briefly.

    Those doors were meant to have wicker cane inserts. The top and bottom are so different they don't coordinate.

    • @TheMissFlips
      @TheMissFlips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was going to do cane, but since it’s a coffee bar, I thought it would be more on brand to do burlap. And I honestly agree with you! Haha I did a pole over on my Instagram though and the majority of people said to keep it

    Pretty but just my opinion I would have painted the doors black and the inside of the cabinet

      Yeah, I’m honestly still not happy with it lol I’ll probably end up redoing it entirely at some point
