There is so much of the same - hardly any new inspiration. This though! This is truly awesome and creative and simple AND EASY - but such impact! That look is amazing - I'll definitely be using that technique to get the thin strips of wood look. i think it would work really well on an apothacary piece too.
Melamine foam sponges (Mr clean magic erasers or their generic versions) are fabulous for applying stain. They actually give a much better finish than regular foam brushes or cotton cloth.
