Awesome, thank you! I think the controlwheel lock should not just be removed, but actually be then as a second step/click be STORED on the left "wall" close to the pilot seat. Maybe you can "fix"/update that in your guide.
No defense needed, Jonathan. Working through the controls and seeing what is working (and what not) is exactly what I‘m looking for. Extremely thankful!
Great job on this. Just a couple things, the cockpit lock flag: unless you replace it in the slot slightly to your left, you are basically holding it the whole flight. To avoid the plane from sliding to the left or right, slightly pull up on the yoke around 70 knots and it will lift off straight at 80 knots.
Hi Jon. Thank you for keeping your videos honest. The little issue you had with the VOR was great to see cos it shows if something isn’t working then try and work through it. Great for the layman to watch 👍
I love the Kodiak by Simworks studios and this looks just as high quality. I had given up with the Carenado PC-12 due to issues with the autopilot but not having used MSFS in some months couldn't say whether this was fixed or if the plane has had any improvements as of late.
Lovely video, thank you. I bought it and have it installed but I got distracted and ended up flying their RV-10 instead so I haven't had the pleasure yet. In case nobody has mentioned it, I really appreciate how you balance the sound so we can hear you AND still hear the sim, I'm over creators who turn the sim sound down to about 10% so they're not competing with it and then invite us to listen to the amazing sounds. I generally turn failures off, I'm here to fly not to follow non-normal checklists, so functional checklists are completely fine with me :) Between all these procedures and the new lease of life the VA tours have given my simming it must be time I sent you another kofi !
Excellent Jon, thank you for testing ! These reviews/tutorials are very helpful in determining there will be a purchase or not. Very happy to see OH which is Finnish registration :) Now continue watching, leaning toward purchase after 3 minutes into the video
thanks for the preview, I did notice a significant drop in frame rates flying a 737-600 PMDG, departure from a medium sized airport, not the same performance as it was before the update
Thanks a lot for this "functional checklist" start up. Not everybody has the time to do all these long tests before starting the plane up. Many of us have very limited time for the sim hobby unfortunatelly. Could you maybe split the video into chapters? would make it even better for reference. Thanks a lot!
I got it installed too and it flies fantastically. I had the same issue that you did when takeoff. The manual says that you need to apply the right rudder and then slowly ease off and then, as you gain speed, apply a bit of the left rudder. It takes a bit to get used to it and depends on the wind. Thanks,
Great review as always! I was actually massively disappointed to learn the new Ground Handling isn't coming until next year. That's one of the biggest things I dislike about the Sim in it's current state.
It’s not even an improvement in ground handling really though, it’s only an improvement in suspension, that won’t fix the real issues of aircraft feeling like they are a third the weight with tyres that feel like they are 50% plastic so the aircraft move around far more than real aircraft do on the ground.
@@WhiteHawk77 I don't specifically know how they have done it as I haven't checked the settings for them, but the the RV-10, and Shorts SD3-30 don't exhibit that kind of sliding about, whereas the SR22T, which I had one flight in the other day, does when decelerating. I just looked over a PC-12 POH, and rotation should be between 73 to 79kts, for flaps 15 and flaps 30 respectively. I think rotation here occured at about 130kts, but the sliding started at around 70. Possibly more up trim would have helped here?
@WhiteHawk77 You're right, actually. Some planes like the Kodiak and Hondajet have great handling. Some like the new Cessna 207 and the default DA62 are awful with GH. I guess it really does come down to the developer.
Exciting takeoff and landing. Excellent looking plane with a good price. Carenado will have to lower their price after this release. You're right; the older autopilots all work a little differently. I think the steam gauged planes by Black Square are the best. I don't usually use them but instead use the GTN750 autopilot instead. Great review.
In the real world any GPS that requires a "cold start" will take 12 minutes after it acquires its first satellite assuming that satellite doesn't dip below the horizon in the meantime. 12 minutes is how long the satellite almanac takes to download. Once it has this almanac subsequent "hot starts" will be much quicker as it knows where the satellites should be.
about the takeoff > it happened to OKS in a flight with real PC-12 pilot "supervision", too. And the pilot said "you can refine it, and it's a thin line between realistic flight model and easy smooth takeoffs" 😀 th-cam.com/video/qVEmj88qgwA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rKylRrnb8osijqVV&t=3589
I never liked the much lauded Kodiak and this also flys and lands very odd- I’m having horrible issue with ap not engaging at all, trim stays red on ap test and I can highlight that button but NOT press it. Also had other odd glitches with throttles not moving etc. which a hard reatart fixed. Any ideas why the AP is totally shot?
Hey Jonathan after flying the ASOBO TBM 930 since launch i`m actually looking into purchasing either the SWS PC-12 or the Carenado PC-12 which would you recommend?
It's a night and day difference. Carenado has always built fantastic looking and sounding airplanes, however their flight dynamics have always been less than stellar.
Having issues with the throttle and other switches not moving in the sim. So the throttle works, but isnt moving. Same with batt 2 switch not moving. Anyone else having a similar issue, and has anyone found a fix?
@@mariobader2152 …. I went ahead and purchased it against my better judgement. There's a gnarly overlay on the PMS GTNs that they're aware of. Looks like the original plastic shielding is on it@@jonbeckett

How are the fps compared to the BKS TBM850?
Is this one a better option over the Coronado one ?
Depends if you want realism in the systems, or something more accessible.
The TBM already filled up my hard drive! lol, guess I'll need to uninstall some older planes.
