Thankfully, I haven’t been in rain longer than that. All of my episodes in the rain have been short-lived, so I can’t really speak to long-term results. I've looking for a light weight rain jacket for a while and this one seems to be my top option so far, however I totally agree with you on the price tag. It's just too pricey, I'll wait to find it on sale :)
Oh 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 wow! You ain't kiddin! That is some kind torough test. I don't doubt it is water proof. I already bought beyond clothing rain jacket about the same price. I debated to buy Areteyrec or beyond. My main decision was that beyond clothing rain jacket has Cordura ( longer lasting materials). However, I may ended up buying Northridge jacket since it is also windproof. Frankly I use my rain jacket as additional layer jacket when it gets cold after a hiking activity. I really need that windproof from getting cold. Yes, I will wait for a sale.
People don't understand kuiu. They say right on their site the fit. They're stuff is ment to be put together as a kit. The one in this video isn't ment to be a whole lot larger. But, if you put together say a base, mid, then a mid insulation jacket that isn'tment to cut the wind, you can put this on over it to stay dry and cut wind. It makes a huge difference. If you get a soft shell to go over your mid to cut wind and add a little fleece, this jacket will not go ever that. One of the other rain shells will though. I have a kryptek rain jacket that went on sale for 85 bucks and I couldn't pass that up. It works well, I haven't gotten wet but wish I'd have gotten one grade better because I got those pants and it was more breathable. Kuiu wasn't on sale at that time either. Kuiu is definitely better than kryptek in most cases, especially since its focus is light weight.

Definitely keep watch. They were on sale for like $150 just a few weeks ago at Thanksgiving!

It seems like I can never find the breathability of rain jackets for the price should have AC running through the jacket
Haha. You’d think. It’s a great rain jacket, but definitely not super breathable.
