Everyone in that band is such a pro. I saw Molly and Golden Highway last summer at the Moore Theater in Seattle. After the show I was leaving the venue and noticed all of Golden Highway was out back getting some fresh air. I thought what the heck I might as well ask if I can get a photo of them together. They said absolutely, would you like to get in the photo too? Nice to see such talented folks be so kind too.
This is fun. Good for Molly and The Golden Highway to put in all that work. I heard there was some bad blood between Del McCoury and Steve during the tour supporting The Mountain's release. Money issues. I saw the tour in Brussels, Belgium. It was a great show
Steve Earle and friends - Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2024-5 Ottobre at Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA, USA Banjo Stage - 10/5/24 with Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway and Emmylou Harris Setlist Warren Hellman's Banjo (Steve Earle & the Dukes song) Texas Eagle (Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band cover) Yours Forever Blue (Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band cover) Carrie Brown (Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band cover) The Graveyard Shift (Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band cover) I'm Still in Love With You (Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band cover) Harlan Man (Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band cover) The Mountain (Steve Earle and The Del McCoury Band cover) Ben McCulloch Willin' (Little Feat cover) Guitar Town Goodbye (with Emmylou Harris) The Galway Girl Copperhead Road Encore: This Land Is Your Land (Woody Guthrie cover)
It takes a lot of skill for a frontline player like Molly to wrap themself around someone else's music so completely. I have not seen much of her being Australian though I am a forever Steve Earle fan, but she is a player's player.
I know every note of "The Mountain" album in my bones. Molly and the band hit every note perfectly and then elevated the music to another level. Earle is by far the best lyricist and album maker on the planet. His songs elevate humanity and expose the absurbidity of warmongers. All songwriters should study and learn from his genius.
Hey Molly, you need to work up "Willing" as a Golden Highway number. Search TH-cam & you will find a young Linda Rhonstadt, with a nearly unknown Bonnie Rait singing "Willing" at a benefit concert. My fav. version.
YES...indeed..it was a benefit concert, at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium..For Lowell George. He wrote the song...and had recently passed away...sadly. I was seated in the second row.❤
Sorry..it was at the Inglewood Forum..August 4, 1979...The Nicolette Larson tribute was at the SM Civic. She died too young, too. That's her, to Linda's left on stage, with her lovely LONG braids... RIP...Singin' with the Angels now...
@@laurahoover497 The one I'm thinking of was the Lowell George benefit. I have seen the Nicolette Larson also. Both on TH-cam. I wish I wish I could have been to either or both shows. Still in high school or not long out for both.
Except that I come from a Navy/Marine Corps tradition of service and did NOT appreciate disparaging the BLUE ANGELS... I enjoyed the gig. I suppose Steve Earle we served to defend your right to say shitty things about those superb Naval Aviators. But if you are gonna get political, you are sure to piss off and INSULT somebody. You could get away with that in California, but not where I live.
Why is Steve in and out...hope he is ok. If you are misbehaving Steve shame on you! Enough crap in this world and you have people who love your nasty arse. Maybe just a tech problem.....😢
@Hhllbb2476 thats nothing I know about, they sounded good and he played heck his guitar. Probably couldn't beat him down with a big stick ...im just a scary 🐈!
@@psst...heyyou6508 hope you know more than me, im sort of partial to that under rated dude! Did you see him in Treme and and the wire; heis so talented! I'd love seeing him and Billy Bob Thornton corroborate musically and acting, that'd make this year...i can add to this list butnthed be the nucleus. Ok thanks for the upbeat vibe, tell Steve the crawfish are expensive but worth it, come on down.,
Really, that's a very naive statement. The band is only great because of the sum of its parts. Tuttle could get up there and do a solo show. Doubtful if any other member, good as they are, could that.
@paulnewsome6289 I'd look up some Bronwyn keith-hynes shows. There's a reason she won fiddle player of the year. Molly Tuttle is ok & both better than Steve Earl.
All Molly and Golden Highway have to do is show up and whoever they are playing with is instantly elevated!
Steve Earl lifts everyone up as well!
I'm thinking you've got it backwards there
@@psst...heyyou6508 not to me
Fabulous concert we love you
So wonderful seeing (and hearing) Steve. Thanks Molly and Golden Highway for the perfect pairing.
The concert that goes from great to magical!
Ought to be a live album!!!❤
All I can say is ; "Wow this gets better and better as every song comes next" 💥💫⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
True gold - fantastic

Thank you Steve and Molly love you both! It's Saturday night January 18th 2025, this was god for my soul, thank you.
Thankyou x 100 .....Fabulous, as always, great seeing the young 'uns embrace him...DYNAMITE band...all o'f 'em...!

Her husband, Jason Carter, played those fiddle parts originally on The Mountain

What a moment ! And the song with Emmylou Harris🥲

Please DO ANOTHER ACOUSTIC / 'GRASS ALBUM , STEVE, for God's sake...! x
Walking through fields of bluegrass...
I didn't cry when they played, The Mountain. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

Bitchin’. 🤩
Bronwyn for President !
Great concert. I wish Steve's mic had been amplified a lot more than it was, though.
I love how they turned the rock anthem Copperhead road into a great bluegrass song! Fantastic banjo playing.
Steve needs to work that microphone a little bit better 😊
I mentioned that same thing to the guys in our band. 58s. You gotta be on em
Molly rips a wicked solo . Camera focuses on Steve playing a D chord. Sigh.
Kinda like the camera man in one of the few times the Allman Brothers were recorded who was more enamored with Butch Trucks than Dewayne playing.

Molly and that band are just fantastic! Sounds like Steve is losing his voice.

Seemed winded which could be many things on health front. Hopefully he takes a blood thinner for long flights.
