Many high schools have traditions at their schools for “senior nights” that correspond with big sports events (football, soccer, basketball, track etc) For instance sometimes they will have a football game that’s gender-flipped and the girls will play a game while the boys will dress up and cheer. My daughters’ highschool usually had not just cheerleaders play the annual “powderpuff game” but also girls who were athletes. Giving flowers to your girlfriend after a big game or doing a prom proposal is pretty typical - and a lot of the time these are usually seniors in the final year.

Yes. My friends, classmates, and students upper or lower grade switch boyfriends & girlfriends all the time. I thought, it was weird. I remember moving here in the states like 7/8 years ago. I got introduced to American kids and teenagers being able to date and hangout at each other's houses. It shocked me. I had to ask my American Dad a lot of question. Apparently, that's normal. My Asian self was confused, shocked, and amaze at the same time.
