  • If you're looking for the best way to soft wash with a pressure washer, you are probably looking at the x jet M5 twist and the Jrod setup. In this video I will share my experience and takeaways from both types of down streaming.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Please remember that this is a visual medium, and that you need to demonstrate. I’ve been xjetting for years and wanted a demo on downstreaming, in addition to the pros and cons, and dos and don’ts

    First let me start my saying how much I enjoy your videos. You are honest, straightforward and extremely informative. Thank you for giving information without ulterior motives. Now that that's out of the way I'd like to know the following:
    1. What is your normal mix for a house wash, roof wash and driveway wash.
    2. You talk about a post treatment for driveways. What exactly do you mean?
    3. I am starting with a 4400 psi, 4GPM washer direct drive with a Honda engine. I assume this type will need a gravity fed buffer tank, is that correct?
    4. Why haven't you found the need for a separate soft wash system run by a 7 GPM pump?
    5. I watched your video on deck washing using sodium metasilicate and wanted to know if you found it as effective as SH. In my area more and more clients are looking for non bio friendly solutions to accomplish their cleaning. ON that same note have you tried using sodium percarbonate on roofs? What did you think?
    6. Finally, thanks for all that you contribute to the industry!!!

      Thank you so much for the kind words!! I'm so glad that you found my content helpful!
      1 house wash 1% and driveway preteat 1% post treat 3% I don't wash roofs yet.
      2 after washing a driveway I will apply a 3% SH mix to get rid of lichen and zebra lines.
      3 yes for any water source that is below 4gpm output you will need a gravity fed tank. I wish I got mine sooner!!
      4 I don't do roofs, and I use my x jet for anything that I need to apply a hot mix to. Always on my wish list though.
      5 I think the cleaning power is similar, but I have noticed much less furring when cleaning pine using SM compared to SH.
      6 Thanks for watching!!

    Thanks for your video (new subscriber) - home user only. X-Jet M5 comes in a 2.5 gpm version and a 3.5 gpm version. My pressure washer is a Be 2,500 psi/3.0 gpm. Should I size up or down on the X-Jet - should I order the 2.5 gpm or the 3.5 gpm rated kit?

    Great explanation. So you use the x jet nozzle to soap and then you switch to regular M5 twist to rinse (turn downstream injector “off”)?

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks, it's actually the m5ds that draws soap from the injector. Then the x jet creates enough pressure to close the dsi for the rinse

    • @wrightwaterworks
      @wrightwaterworks 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So you have the xjet nozzle with the barb hanging off of it for the rinse, the m5ds nozzle for soap(opening the dsi bag up), and what else on your 3 nozzle set up? Photos for clarity?

    So you think the xjet is better than downstreaming with the actually pressure washer? I’ve got a Simpson 2.5 g per minute pressure washer with a built in down stream injector. Do you think running the regular downstream injector on the pressure washer would be better? Or run the xjet instead?

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@SLF1990 if you already have the dsi you are pretty much ready to downstream, which is what I do 95% of the time. You will eventually need a stronger mix, and the X jet will be needed for that.

    I see x-jets that show 2-3 gpm, what happens if i try to use that with an electric pressure washer that does not push out that much gpm?

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      So my understanding of the lower gpm machine with a higher rated gpm nozzle: you would have a lower than advertised psi rating, and you would possibly pull soap, both due to the larger orifice on the nozzle. It would most likely have a different dilution ratio than what would be expected, so definitely do a bucket test if you move forward with this. I hope this helps

    • @chausonharmon693
      @chausonharmon693 หลายเดือนก่อน +1
