This video was more helpful than any of the guys “explaining” what to do, someone actually just showing the process. Thanjs
Thank you! I’m glad it was able to help out, I appreciate you watching
My man, thank you for wearing the go pro so we can watch fully. I’ve watched a lot of videos of pros and so called pros alike but your the first guy to put a video like this. Thank you very very much.
I appreciate that thank you!!
Thank for showing the hook ups it made the job that much easier
For sure! Thank you for watching!
Awesome video man. Really cool to see you efficient and organized.
Thank you! Check out my newest setup video, I’ve upgraded quite a bit since this video th-cam.com/video/xjZWSpe9NxQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TL52P4Kbajaeolmo

Couple of quick tips my Brother. You don't have to dilute the Chem the X-Jet at full strength is pulling about a .6-..7 mixture with the GPM of your machine. Use a surfactant, it holds the chem to the siding longer and helps the windows to clean up nice also apply from bottom up and rinse from top down. Good luck!
Appreciate it man, been using a surfactant the past couple weeks definitely helps a lot
Keep diluting the Chem. Your ratio is a 1.6-1 with the XJet wide open. Which would be about a 7% with 12.5 SH. It's easy to look up the chart and see the ratios
@TheIvies04 yessir I always dilute it. Straight sh on the x jet can damage the siding, always try to get a good 1.5% or so
@@drowizationprevents streaking
Doesn't the x jet dilute for you depending on the orifice color?
lol for real my man I know it sounds corny but you can do these one story homes with a Husqvarna backpack sprayer and a garden hose. I do it all the time using a 1ish % mix
Yessir that’s how I used to do it, just a 2 gallon pump up sprayer and garden hose. Gets the job done
It is starting to bother me how few people know how to use ratios. You must add all parts of the ratio together to get a correct answer. To know your dilution for the xjet, divide sh% by the total parts. Ex. You have a 2/1 ration. 10%sh÷3= 3.33% concentration coming from the gun.
That would be a 3.33% ratio in the bucket, not accounting for the water coming out of the gun…? Or am I missing something?
@chrisapollonio that is if you are using an xjet. I use a container with straight bleach and soap. 10%bleach in bucket then mixes at the want tip at what ever ratio tip you use. If not using an xjet, you gotta figure out what your specific machine ratio is by running a test
Nice demo for someone just getting started. Switching from chem to water was a good reminder to wet the vegetation and avoid chem damage.
I appreciate it! Definitely most important thing is wetting down the vegetation and landscape.
Get yourself a high pressure ball valve too to go between your hose and gun. Allows you to disconnect the gun without turning off the machine
Yeah man ball valves are where it’s at. Check out my most recent videos, I’ve upgraded a good bit since this video
That's a pretty inexpensive set up you have there and yet very efficient/effective. Definitely gonna try this set up. 😁
Yes sir definitely super efficient with the price being really affordable. With the potential to make $10K and up a month
What GPM x - jet are you running? They range from 2 GPM to 8 GPM.
Just a 2.6 gpm, works good but I’m in the process of getting a 4 gpm soon
Ok. Appreciate the feed back . Good luck with the business and all....
Yeah I like the no-nonsense simplicity of your setup as well. Do you mind posting a link to each of those hose reels? Both the garden hose and high pressure reel?
Thank you I appreciate it! I’ve recently upgraded my setup so I’ll be making a video soon but I still use the same hose reels. Here are those links to them.

great content luke! keep it up
Thank you I appreciate you!!
Thanks, this very helpful getting ready for my first job, still figuring out what to buy and how to plan it. Any idea how long you were on site?
This job only took about an hour including the window cleaning afterwards. Just did the 1 side. Awesome to hear man you got it!
It looks like a bunch of chemical is hitting dry grass. Doesn't that kill the grass?
Rinse the grass before, during dwell time, and after
What percent were you getting with the batch mix and the xjet
I was getting about a 1-1.5% mix
How long are hoses?
I have 200 ft of high pressure hose and 100 ft of garden hose
@@lukeraglin Okay do you have one 200 ft house or 2 100 ft ones?
@gagebouch9458 I have 1 100 ft hose and 2 50 ft hoses. Then I have a backup 50 ft in the truck just in case
Also what do you do when there are a lot of flowers and plants at the bottom of dirty siding? I’d wet them but I’d still be scared it would kill rhe plants.
I pre wet the plants always, then while the chemical is dwelling on the home wet the plants again. I’ve never had an issue killing any plants doing a house wash
That’s a lot of pressure there man
Not really man, it’s all through the x jet, super soft pressure and my gpm is only 2.5
I use an xjet as well. You turned the nozzle multiple times which changes the amount of pressure provided. The twist nozzle is supposed to replace traditional rinsing nozzles ( yellow, white tip, all the way to the hazardous red tip) you went from a 65 degree to a damn near 5 degree tip multiple times on a single story building. Don’t know why you kept rubbing the siding too. Other than that good job I do the same thing where I put the xjet hose back in the bucket on rinse mode so it doesn’t leak out. I am planning on buying a 4 gpm and downstream injector by April. As great as the xjet is the sad reality is you need more than that to properly wash houses in a timely fashion and there’s a reason why all the big company’s downstream.
You said your pressure washers only 2.5 that doesn’t matter 3000 psi can easily do damage using the wrong tips. If you buy the “downstreaming nozzle it allows you to put sh up high at low pressure. It’s a totally different nozzle.
No hate just want to let you know what I’ve learned.
Everyone knows better then the other huh
@hunterbedsole6897 apparently so lol
@@hunterbedsole6897 just sharing what took me so long to learn. Lot of people think pressure washing is a simple task but there is a science to it. If you put pressure on the roof I would say something as well, just trying to better educate fellow power washers. Trust me there’s real douches in this industry and I’m not one. ✌️
Nice set up
Thank you!!
I'd like to hear your voice more. Good job
Thank you! Working on doing some day in the life wash vlog videos soon
How are you changing it from water to chemical so fast? Are you turning the knob in the middle of the x jet tube or taking it out of the sh?
I usually just take the tube out of the x jet nozzle. That way I don’t have to pull around a bucket when I rinse, only when I soak the house in SH
How many feet of pressure hose?
I have a 100 ft pressure hose, then a 50 ft pressure hose connected to it, and a 25 ft pressure hose. Helps with if one bursts I have other separate hoses to help finish the job
@@lukeraglin nice! I was just wondering how long of a pressure hose you can run with a 2.5gpm machine with the xjet
@CleanMachineHomeServices I’ve ran the full amount of pressure hose before with my x jet and still was able to wash a house pretty good. I think downstreaming would cause some issues but x jet works good!
Nice! What size pressure hose are you using?
Thank you! I’m using 180 feet of 3/8 inch hose
3/8 pressure hose on a 2.5gpm? Looks like it still has pretty good pressure. It's time to put my spare hose to use I guess. Have you tried it with a surface cleaner?
Yup I use a 15 inch surface cleaner with the 2.5, it does a pretty good job. Most of my TH-cam Shorts videos of me using the surface cleaner is with either 150 ft or 180 ft hose and it eats up that algae
I will check those out. Thanks
@ShawnHamel yessir you got it man
Which power washer you using
Powerhorse 2.6 gpm 3200 psi from Northern tool. Just upgraded to a 4 gpm same brand
@@lukeraglinwhat x jet model did you use for the 2.6 gpm pressure washer?
Do you think that setup in this vid is good for roof cleaning?
powerwash.com/shop/x-jet-m5/
You could do roof washes, but I would invest in a larger chemical tube, at least 100 ft so you don’t have to carry the bucket on the roof
Contracted to do one side ?
Yup! Just one side to clean algae then window cleaning for the whole home. Not too bad
@@lukeraglin nice where'd u get ur equipment for window cleaning ? And how much should u charge starting off
@@2ozOzI ordered my bucket on a belt from Amazon and most of my squeegees are from Lowe’s or Window Cleaning Resource .com
I would buy from them. And I try to make at least $100 an hour, so this job I posted took me about 3 hrs and I charged $335.
Martinez Christopher Rodriguez Jason Rodriguez Cynthia
What percent mix you have in the bucket?
I have about a 1.5% in the bucket, using the x jet with no proportioner tip
Thompson David Thomas Elizabeth Perez Jose
this guy is dangerous, spraying without wetting the garden and all over the webber and stuff at the rear of the house, and the wooden fence??
Wet everything down before hand, all vegetation gets watered down
Seen that, not sure what this dude was talking about
Where was the soap to keep the bleach sticking to the house?
You don’t have to use soap every time. Didn’t use it in this one but I use it more now, makes it stick and smells less bleachy

Downstream on vinyl. x jet on concrete and roofs duh. Tell me you don’t know how to wash while showing me how to wash ☠️
Bro 😂 do you know how an X jet works? X jets can get a 1% for vinyl too…
@@lukeraglin can’t spend the $10 on a downstream? More convenient?? The set up wack, your process.. trash… your highly inefficient. I about through up watching this. If your carrying around a 5g bucket for a vinyl wash your a rookie.
@jordanarambula man, setup and process all aside, I really feel bad that you feel the need to comment on my video to express your anger, that’s some personal issues you have to deal with, take care man hope you can figure it out.
I found this pretty helpful man. Pretty efficient if you ask me. X jet can work in most scenarios as far as I can tell. Sad that people take their aggression out on people for doing honest work and working hard.
I'm starting out too and appreciate all the advice. This man is working his way up. Hustle and grind. It takes guts to post a video when you don't have the top of the line equipment. Btw, i would have downstreamed. Thanks for the hose reel links.

Enjoyed this post 👍🏽 I was reading comments and questions and wondered if you had thought of answering them ahead of time in the video? Like a little popup that says “Mixing ratio such and such because…” or the equipment your grabbing?
I find myself saying, “That looks cool, I wonder what brand it is, etc”
Appreciate the comment! I have a list in the description of majority of the items I use, from Amazon 👍🏼
So I recently found out that when running hoses across sidewalks you need to have a sign on each side of the hose alerting people… blew my mind. May vary per state I’m not sure. At the very least I always put cones
I’ve heard some states requiring that. Recently I ordered a couple of those sandwich signs with my logo on it to put out in the street by the truck and the sidewalk, should help direct people and also provide good advertisement.
Totally gay rule.

The biggest question I got is what do you guys do about the water spots in the windows. If using the customers water. I come from detailing cars with deonized water . Getting into pressure washing homes. And I worry about the water spots on the window. If I use in treated water.
I always try to up sell my house washes with water fed pole window cleaning. Or regular traditional window cleaning. I have a deionization system so I can clean the windows after a house wash and it leaves no spots. What you can do if you’re not going to clean the windows is use a surfactant in your house wash mix and that’ll help clean the windows. It’s almost impossible to not leave spots so always make sure to let the customer know that for a spot free result, window cleaning will have to follow
You made this look effortless, I just started my own business and you gave me the confidence for my first job
Those hose reels come in clutch
Gonna have to invest in one

2.5 gallons of bleach to 2.5 gallons of water gives you 2% in a 5 gallon bucket. How much does the ratio change with the xjet just curious. I know to achieve a 2% on a downstream you have to fill the whole 5 gallons with bleach. That’s assuming your injector is a 4 to 1.
Hey, you can just divide the % mixture by the total ratio parts. So,2% divided by 5 is.4% mix coming out. I've called xjet in the past to confirm and get their conversion formula. All the best!
To all those breaking into the game with small pressure washers, do not leave the machine running without water coming out of the gun. If you do, the water will heat up and destroy your pump. And remember GPM is better than high pressure and low GPM
Thanks for your comment man, you’re exactly right, leaving your washer on without using it can really damage the pump. In this video I had a 2.6 gpm but upgraded back in March to a 4.2 gpm. Much more flow. Also have a ball valve, so when I know I’ll be off the trigger, I’ll open up that ball valve and just put it in some grass to let the water flow
im starting a pressure washing side gig and this xjet looks like a perfect start for me - would love to pick your brains a lil for rules regarding chemicals.
That’s awesome! The x jet is great especially for just starting out. Feel free to ask me any questions on here or DM me on my Instagram @lukeraglin_
@@lukeraglin I'm also about to start as well looking to start out with 4gpm machine .. what gpm machine and tools do you have for 400??? Everything I'm finding is 1k n up!
It’s going to be hard to find a 4gpm and tools for just $400. A 4gpm will cost $600 or more alone unless you find on Facebook. I started with a $250 2.6 gpm from northern tool since I was just starting and on a budget. I got that with a $100 surface cleaner attachment from
Walmart. If your budget is $400 I would start with a 2.6 gpm, land a few jobs, then use that money to buy a 4 gpm
Where did you get those hose reels from? I just started a few months ago and those look like they save a lot of time.
They save a ton of time. I got them on Amazon for about $100 each. Wish I got them sooner

I’m trying to figure out where you got pool essentials at 12% it’s only 10% where I get it lol
It’s only 10% for pool essentials. Pool stores sell them at 12.5% but they’re like $45 for a 4 pack. Best option is to get it at pressure washing store it’ll be much cheaper
Hello from Winnipeg, Canada. Good job Luke. An even better option is to google search "chemical manufacturers in my area", and source it straight from them. Univar is the biggest Chem supplier & manufacturer company in North America, so they'll likely be in most major cities. I get 25 and 55 gal drums of 12.5 % SH starting at $150(25gal). They'll have a deposit you'll have to pay for the drum.for the 25gal drums it's a $90 deposit. Some Chem companies will let you bring your own drum/tote to fill at their facility. I also buy my sodium hydroxide, sodium percarbonate, and oxilic acid from the same place by the 50lb bag. Waaaay cheaper in the long run than anywhere else to go straight to the source and buy bulk. ✌🏼 Good luck dudes
@@lukeraglin idk where you’re at but locally I have a pool store that you can buy in bulk. I can fill 25 gallon chem tank for $75 they do in bulk for $3ish a gallon. Versus their 2 gallon jugs for almost $12, I’d check local pool supply companies and ask if they sell in bulk
@below_averagetv7259 I’m in south Texas and unfortunately our pool stores don’t do bulk fills, but our pressure washing store does bulk fills at $3.95 a gallon

I do have the same exact pressure wash machine 2.6 3,400. I’m about to buy the X Jet M5, but I need to know more about how to mix chemicals, if I have the sh level of 10% how should I mix in a 5g bucket If want to get the 1 or 1.5% should I add water and surfactant. Thank you.
what was the piece you connected to pressure washing to dispense chemical ?
or any recommendations on equipment i could use to dispense chemicals easier without a pump-up sprayer? your set up with the bucket is dope.
Hey thank you what I’m using is called an x-jet. Check it out online it allows you to put your chemical in a bucket and spray. It’s around $120-$170
Lee Steven Allen Jessica Perez Anthony
Houses are on top of each other.
Quick question, why do you wet the siding before you spray your chem? doesn't that just make the chem less effected because its diluting with the water you just sprayed?
Great question, I wet it down because I live in South Texas, and it gets super hot quick which can dry the chemical faster. I’ve learned that wetting down the siding first just helps with it not drying as fast and gives me assurance that I won’t damage any paint
