I own a Glock 43X, like it a lot. I’ll carry it with the OEM 10rd mags, just because I trust them to be reliable. I’ve heard of reliability issues out of the Shield Arms and PSA Micro Dagger mags. Sometimes they work flawlessly, sometimes they don’t, and that throws me off. If I need more capacity, I’ll carry my Glock 26 with 15-rd or 17-rd mags. Still, you’re right that Glock needs to step up their magazine designs. Thanks for the video

Hey Matt I surely enjoy your videos! I'm a Fudd too when it comes to blue steel and walnut over poly guns. Take care of that back!....I feel for ya!...Had trouble with mine all my life..mostly blue collar type steelworker jobs....hot heavy..dirty. Had surgery beginning this year, lumbar cage, rods, screws etc..But on the bright side,I bought alot of reloading components and are using them for my rehab! Videos like yours have been a great help. Good luck to you and yours!

Man that's a tight 15 in that Shield Arms mag with one heck of a compressed spring. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I keep 13 in mine.

A fellow deputy has a 43x and its his backup off duty. I almost got one but to stay with factory made mags I went with the Springfield Hellcat pro it has factory 15 and 17 rd mags. I like that Hellcat alot.I agree leather is all I use also.

Get the psa dagger 43x mags Sheriff, they are same capacity and you don’t have to change out the mag release, and they are just as good as the ones you were using , and the reason they don’t come out meaning Glock coming out with 15 round mags for the 43X is because they will kill the sales of the Glock 19, it is more profitable currently to leave it the way it is because they sell so many Glock 19 and so many Glock 43 x’s

Hey Matt, I just recently found you’re site. I’m retired . Got PSA 15 round mags and don’t have rattle shield had. So far no negative reviews. But I start off with 10 round. Do not have to change mag release release because it has polymer front over metal part

I've tried the Shield gen1, 2 and 3 mags in my Glock 48 and they don't work. They have ftf malfunctions. Glock 10 round and PSA 15 round mags work fine. Some Glocks work with them and some don't. Likely a tolerance issue with the magwell of the Glock frame.

Agreed. Glock missed the boat on this. I am a Glock guy, I’m a cop and have carried Glock on duty for the past 15 years. Off duty I carry a S&W Shield Plus.

I am not a Glock fan either, but like you I do own a few including the 43X and several of the Shield mags. There have been reports of dependability issues with the Shield mags, but I have not experienced any problems in about 600 rounds. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I preordered the Glock 43 when they came out. I carried it from the time I got it in my hands until a month or two ago when I was able to get the PSA Micro Dagger, which is essentially a G43x. I have the PSA 15 round mags for it, which has polymer on the front so you can use the factory plastic mag catch. I love Glocks but I never liked the G43. I am not super accurate with it like I am with my G23 and G19, G45, etc. The G43x clone however I shoot very well. I heard Gaston Glock insisted the Glock magazines had the polymer on them. Now that he is dead, maybe Glock will start doing some full metal magazines.

Not a Glock fan. I shoot them fairly well, just don't like the hand feel.
Someone else mentioned the PSA. I'll have to check that out.
      Thanks!

Another video from the real world. I was licenced to carry a firearm here in Oz. The company I worked for supplied Ruger pistols but I did a lot of competition shooting with my Glock 17.
I agree with your views about Glocks .Ultra reliable but lacking character and that hard to define feeling where you feel the firearm is an extension of one's self.
I found my Glock 17 was not a natural pointing gun, where as the 1911 style semi auto certainly is. I never became accustomed to the flat top slide and the " tri-safety" trigger felt gritty.
All the Police here in Australia are issued Glocks cambered in 40 caliber. I guess it's a case of functionally over character.

Glock mags are metal magazines coated with polymer. Glock went with 10 round mags I would assume to be a legal gun in the states that will only allow 10 round mags. If the Glock 43X had come with 15 round mags that would have to be metal, which they don't make, then they would have lost sales in 10 round limit states. Glock is a company and making money is what the share holders want. The Glock 43X was built for CCW I'm sure. I think 10 plus 1 with an extra mag is probably more than enough for most CCW issues. Don't get me wrong I have a 43X with Shield Arms mag and I have the 20 round extended mag also, because I live in a free state and for me I want more ammo, not less.

Enjoyed this episode. 51 here as well, and now unfortunately disabled due to a double disk blowout that damaged some nerves. But I went from .45 (still my love) in both Glocks and a 1911 format, to 9mm simply because there's no way around it, .45 is heavy and big for all-day carry. I am not a 9mm fan, particularly, but I do carry it. I do have a love for the 26 G5, but the 19 G5 is probably my main carry. I am now starting to carry .40, and I really like that round and how it shoots for me, but anyway... But the 43X...I love how it carries. Now, I had a bad experience with SA mags, but the PSA ones are great, just don't know whether to trust them completely (they're my backup, though). And totally agree on 1791 pancake holster, I have the exact same one. I often like carrying IWB, but when I'm feeling...um, you know...fatter than normal...I do the pancake. But as Sootch00 says, it's the golden age of firearms. Carry what you like and shoot well. When we were kids, 1 malfunction in 200 rounds was considered acceptable. Now, there's not many mainline guns that can't give you 1 in 1000. Stay safe, sir, and God bless!

Have a 43X and want to like it but it’s the only handgun I own that will raise a blister on my trigger finger after 100 rounds. That is with both original and replacement APEX trigger.

Great video! We aren’t allowed to carry where I live, open or concealed, also 10 round magazine limit. So for home, on my nightstand, I absolutely love my HK45T, with a TLR7. I figure, if I can only have 11 rounds loaded up, I might as well make a big hole. It also shoots 45Super as well, no bears here though. Aloha 🤙🏽

Springfield makes a 9mm called The Echelon have you looked at one of those? it's about the size of a S&W M&P 9 though so bigger than the 43X, it comes with two mags a 18 and a 20 rounder and they shoot great it will fit your large hands very well I wear a 2X or 3X glove and I love my Echelon and as for as that is concerned my SA35. The SA335 is actually a little short for my hand in the distance from the backstrap of the grip to the trigger. The 1791 leather is nice I bought one for my sons pistol but what I got for my SA35 is a holster by a company called Lockleather by a company called Urban Carry, they make great holster's and their belts are phenomenal the belts will not wear out and are about 1/4" thick leather for your work as a daily gun carrier they would be great,, I cannot carry in my job but I do wear one of those belts as I am 6'1' and 265lbs and used to be almost 6'4" and almost 300 lbs., played college ball and have always been very hard of cheap belts and would wear one out every 3-6 months and same on my shoes but since I have aged (75 yrs. old) I have shrunk and still hard on my leather , the Urban Carry belts I found about 2 years ago and own 3 of them in different colors I bought a "Hanks Belts" which have a 100 year warranty and they are ok but these Urban Carry are just as nice looking and are better made and about $30 cheaper, the belts are $69 I believe and the Lockleather holsters are about $69-89 each depending on what you get, the holster has an inside clip that the trigger guard snaps into so the gun does not fall out without you wanting it to come out the 1791 does not have that feature or at least I have not found one that did so take a look at them, the reason I have shrank almost 3 inches is a back problem with degenerative discs I have no discs left and I have dodged surgery but live in misery almost every day but you're young get it taken care of while your young, also there is a company called The Good Feet Store that sells inserts and shoes you will be surprised how well those help your back they are pricey but I have learned worth the money

I'll take a look at your suggestions.
I have handled an Echelon. Nice pistol. I'll likely try to snag one someday.
At 51, my back is trashed. It's degenerative as well. A combo of baseball, football, 20+ years of a gun belt and Genetics have done me in. My daddy had 3 back surgeries by the time he was my age.
I always buy heavy belts and good boots.
      Thanks for the conversation!
