It's amazing how much the railway series illustrations and the TV sets compliment the real-life scenery. Truly shows the heart and dedication put behind those work. Thank you for this documentary!
Me and my Dad visited and traveled on the Talyllyn railway back in 2017 and on the day of our visit after we had our lunch we was very lucky to travel on a passenger service pulled by the old Lady herself.
As someone who can’t really go to this railway, (I’m all the way in the us) these videos make me really happy, like I’m really there. Those fields and mountains all look so pretty~
I'm so glad you got to visit the railway. The Tallylyn is a special place for me and I visit a lot. It's a shame you didn't get to walk around much as dolgoch falls is an amazing place and you get an incredible view of the viaduct. I hope you enjoyed the UK 😁
I went to the Towyn narrow gauge railway some 50 years ago! And it looks like that it has remained unchanged. I was 8 or 9 years of age! It was magical then. And by the looks of it! It's remained so! 16 miles of track I think. Oh my goodness! Thank you for the wonderful story of your own adventures there! Tal'ynn I think is the basis for Skarloey. I wouldn't mind visiting it again! And one day in the near future! I will.
Very nice dude! I went to Missouri last month to visit their Branson Scenic Railroad and got a train ride with my parents and sister. It had no where near as much stuff as the Talyllyn Railway but the ride was wonderful. And after that we went to a flea market and I found an old Bachmann Thomas model for only $6.50, only it didn’t have a face. Now I’m trying to make a face library out of clay like the show did! Someday I hope I’ll make a visit to Talyllyn when I’m older.
Everyone else in the summer: Going all sorts of places outside of their home, T1E2H3 getting to go to THE Talyllyn Railway Me in the summer: Stuck in the same old home in Massachusetts and the closest places outside of my home state I mainly go are just other places in New England (Sigh) If only I got out of New England more (though I went to Pakistan, Canada, Washington D.C. (and Maryland, crossing New York New Jersey and Delaware in the process) and New York state before) Edit: I also forgot to mention I went to Kentucky once, but I was only something like 1 or 2
I’ve ridden on the Tallylyn Railway a few years ago, might go again, I got on at Tywin, my train was pulled by Tom Rolt I think we got off at Dolgoch station and then rode back behind Sir Haydn.
Great video! If you ever come by America you should stop by the tweetsie railroad in Blowing rock North Carolina. They have a narrow gauge railroad with 2 really nice engines.
Very cool man! I've wanted to go see this wonderful railway for 10 years now - you're incredibly lucky! Also I thought you might be interested to know - Glennock Station is also based on the now demolished Aberllefenni Station of the neighboring Corris Railway, as can be seen in the second-to-last illustration of Peter Sam and the Refreshment Lady...
This is so cool that you got to see the actual Talyllyn Railway and see the basis' of the SKR engines up close! And THE Rev. W. Awdry's study AND ORIGINAL MODELS?!?!!? Are you kidding?!?!?!! Man, I wish I go to see all that...
mate there is a lake, it's just further up the road. in fact the word 'lake' is in the translation of Talyllyn. I'm welsh so trust me on this ;) glad you enjoyed it though mate. My favourite narrow gauge railway in the world!
If you are ever up looking at foxfield or churnet valley up in Staffordshire have a little look into rudyard lake as there is a small railway there with some very interesting engines (too big for their lines)
I've been on the Talyllyn railway 2 times and the engines I went on was Sir Haydn and Tom Rolt. Fact:I went on Tom Rolt for my birthday because I love steam engines.

I recall some of the track sounds with wheel rumbling and clickedi clack (if that makes sense) was recorded at Talyllyn too. Mainly used in Season 4. Also wasn't the Incline placed on the Railway that Mid Sodor Railway was based on?
1:29 unless there are 2 diesels there; midlander is the engine, but as you saw changed/ reworked. It's original form looks more like Rusty (Saw this in a Trainboy vid, aslo sorry if someone already pointed out)
They might not realize it but the Talyllyn railway was in the presence of greatness
Whos they?
Who doesn't
I went to the Talyllyn Railway last month and it was my first time in Wales. I’m definitely coming back there one day.
Oh how we all in the Thomas fandom wish we could make such a trip, but hey, videos like this make it all worthwhile.
I went there on a rainy day 2 years ago
I feel bad for you all, I live 50 miles away from it
@@fishylax1526 Then you, are only lucky human being.
I’ve ridden on it a few years back
I like it that this is uploaded on my birthday.
That seems like a hell of a trip man! Glad your enjoying it!
A legend has returned
It's amazing how much the railway series illustrations and the TV sets compliment the real-life scenery. Truly shows the heart and dedication put behind those work. Thank you for this documentary!
Congratulations man. I hope one day I can go there and see the beautiful scenery and see the basis of the narrow gauge engines
Yay the Talyllyn.
This is fantastic! Nice to see you visiting the "real life" Skarlory Railway.

That truly was a sight to behold wasn't it
When I went to the Talyllyn Railway, my passenger train was pulled by Edward Thomas (Peter Sam.)
I remember going to there, I also went camping in the camping site and I remember seeing Douglas as Duncan, the waterfall is beautiful.
My guy I was just watching your vids not expecting anything new right now, and then I see this
Cool, I want to go there one day.

This looks like so much fun! Thank you for sharing!
Love the location 👏, Great vid 👍
I want to visit that railway one day, and better yet, travel in most countries and regions around the world.
I love this and I love that you only put season 4 themes and pictures in here for the narrow gauge railway
Looks amazing! I would love to go there some day.
I wish I could visit old blighty!
Awesome video

Going to Pakistan is a massive thing! It’s so far from my home place that you would need to connect flights.

Those whistles sound like the Skarloey Railway Engines’ Magic Railroad whistles.
Would you ever visit the National Railway Museum
When I saw those people waving, I started waving too
I would feel that I'm on the Skarloey Railway if I ever Went here...
What's like over there?
This video reminds me of Season 4 of thomas and the real life Skarloey Narrow Gauge railway.
Me and my family will be spending a week there next year so yay 😁
I'd love to visit the Talyllyn Railway someday, but for now, it's just the Strasburg Railroad and Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway for me.
