I think you really need to make a video about the guys being held hostage in the dema and obeying the bishops and that there is a possibility that another album will be released, which will put a fat point. This whole era looks as if the pilots were turned upside down: a cheerful mood, a lot of bright colors, a completely different logo, a different arrangement of the guys in all the photos, a song and a clip in style reminiscent of many different bands, etc. This is absolutely definitely for a reason.

Additionally, in the Christmas Saves The Year video there was a hidden thing that said SAI is propaganda, and many are speculating that SAI: Scaled And Icy, especially given the new TOP logo is a sai as in the weapon.
Just a theory: The car symbolizes Tyler's anxiety and depression, and the ski masks symbolize a way to hide your true self and problems. To me, the car in heavydirtysoul is falling apart and burning. It is a dangerous cage that Tyler is trapped in. Car Radio seems to support this as well; the radio is distracting from the depression and bad thoughts that trap Tyler. In Guns for Hands, Tyler and Josh use the ski masks to hide their identity. The ski masks are a way to get on stage and make themselves able to perform, without having to show their true selves. In this new happier world, Tyler has been able to control his depression and anxiety, thus the car is now reduced to a tire; it doesn't confine him anymore. Going along with that, he no longer has to hide his true self behind a ski mask, and the mask is breaking down. As he has learned how to overcome his problems, he is also encouraging his brother to do the same.

I wanted to call your attention to something interesting right at the end of the video. If you watch in .25 speed and pause, for just a millisecond between Tyler touching the camera and the parking lot shot, there’s a bright neon shot with what appears to be someone’s face with glasses. Anyone else pick up on that? Wondering if it means something or if I’m just over analyzing...
Also none of the ski masks have mouths... the one guy moves his mask over and speaks through one of the holes the lyrics “..boy you better not be there, you’re long gone” They’re being silenced by Dema. I think this is a message for Clancy to run.
It amazes me how layered their music is, especially the more they make. When I watched the video earlier today, I was in the middle of a mental breakdown and was hoping it was the kind of bop that would elevate my mood (new song by my favorite band, why shouldn't it?). I couldn't make sense of it at all, thanks to panic brain, but I took notice of the letter psi flashing on the screen throughout the video. I actually went to find some mental health resources since I hadn't really been emotionally satisfied and one of the first sites I found had the letter psi in their logo. It's pretty common, considering it's a symbol of psychology, but it still struck me. Their characters in Dema are thought to maybe be putting up propaganda by the bishops, but they've been outside and they've rebelled before. The bright colored scheme mimics a lot of psychological thrillers where things that look soft and pretty really are not. Tyler is telling us to "shed our skin" or take off the ski mask - our masks are whatever we put on to cover up our problems. He's advocating that we stop hiding and finally just get help. We can't use the same mediocre coping mechanisms anymore. The symbol of psi is like an inversion of the propaganda we're seeing. Instead of making us tune in, it flashes and forces us to tune out and see the bigger picture.
Tyler in an old interview said the masks were a way to make the band “faceless.” He didn’t want the music to be all about him. He wanted to allow it to be about greater things, bigger ideas than an individual. I’m sure Tyler still holds to that idea, but perhaps removing the masks in this video shows he willing to make songs that are a little more personal, like this song about his brother.
I think the he is Tyler, "Like a song he wrote, that's never heard" I think it's a reference to the same idea discussed in kitchen sink. He said he's trying to give his brother a push to "find their purpose" so I think with this line: " Just like an "I love you" (Ooh, ooh) That isn't words (Ooh, ooh) Like a song he wrote, that's never heard" He is giving examples of his purpose, a song that maybe literally has never been heard or a song that has never been fully understood and therefore becomes his purpose because without him no one fully understands it. I mean that's the whole point of Kitchen sink right? at least that's what he says in the interviews. And as for the bit about an I love you that isn't words, I think with that he is referencing an example of a new purpose for Tyler that we haven heard him sing about before because SHE wasn't born yet. Rosie is his new purpose and she my not be able to use very many words yet, but she can still deliver "an 'I love you' that isn't words" . One could very argue that a lot of the sounds a baby makes to their family are "I love you"s without words. Hence bringing meaning to the inclusion of Rosies baby cooing sound on the track. I think you are right on when it comes to the ski masks and tying that in to the modesty we need to shed. Also, I have always loved that in the Guns For Hands video Josh takes his mask off as soon as he sits down at his drums. That's all he needs to feel comfortable being himself.
I have been thinking about this for a while, so I want to put this out there. My initial reaction to the new song was that the title is very similar to something, but I couldn't pinpoint it. I thought for a while, and I realized there is a song in self-titled called Fall Away. So I looked up the lyrics and realized what had felt so familiar about Shy Away. One word: skin. Fall Away: "and I can feel the pull begin, feel my conscience wearing thin, and my skin, it will start to break up and fall apart." Shy Away: "shed your modesty, and the only thing to leave behind is your own skin on the floor." After listening to both songs on a loop for about two hours, I still felt like I was missing something. I am still not sure what it is, but I'll try to explain. The songs sound like two different parts of the same conversation (?). In Fall Away, Tyler seems to be confused about what he wants. He questions himself and tries to find his personality. He feels like he wears a mask constantly, even though he doesn't want to. In Shy Away, Tyler seems to be a little frustrated with his younger self. He talks about not shying away, being himself (I know this is directed at his brother, but it still feels like he is talking about himself as well). He wants to move on from the past, break the cycle in half. (In the music video, he tears his mask.) I may be just overthinking everything, but I'm just not used to them being so simplistic. I guess I expected more cryptic stuff (which we might get later). I hope this makes sense (lmao). (Also sorry for this being so long)

I think the music video is about that tey are trapped in dema. A lot of neon lights appear in the video, their clothes are dark and the gas station is empty and gloomy. Colors can only be seen when they are performing, which i think is because dema is broadcasting their show and wants to attract the viewers' attention. The band wants to send us signs through their music, but htey are being supervised, even with the dragon, so they can't tell us too much. When tyler wants to use the yellow phone, he would like to call us, but no one answers, he can't reach us yet. Tyler does some hand movements,referring to the fact this is just what we can see through a telelvision and we should not believe it, cause it's only a propaganda. Lyrically, i think it can also be interpreted as tyler speaks to himself. When he goes back home, to trench, he must shed his skin, his brainwashed self, to be himself again. The line: " don't circle the track, take what you have and leave your skin on the floor" may refer to the escape in the nico and the niners mv, cause dema also has the shape of a circle and blurryface is a cycle too.
the tearing of ski masks could be bc they’re ready to open up about their struggles more directly instead of hiding behind the “masks” of imagery & characters. they realize now they have to bring their problems into the light in order to overcome them so they’re taking off the disguises and being more direct. (i’m not saying the mystery was a bad thing at all, but maybe they’re wanting this album to be focused on THEM and their stories rather than clancy, the bishops, dema etc) just my own theory i could be totally wrong❤️
Hi, I’m 55. I was introduced to the TOP by my crazy daughter. I completely felt in love with them. Next thing I went to her room and took all her TOP cds and locked them in my room with my wife inside. She got mad (my daughter) and my wife too anyway. They called the police. Love the video (as usual). The line "like an I love you that isn't words" to me means someone is searching for someone that shows love through actions, not just words.
Okay so I may be completely wrong here, but here are some of my thoughts. I think the dragon is good, and I think it represents creativity (someone said that cyan blue, the colour of the dragon, represented creativity which got me thinking, and also in Levitate Tyler says that he ‘learned to fire breathe’ - dragon imagery - which could be implying that it was around this time that he really began to use creativity to combat his insecurity), and also the dragon breathes yellow fire, which the bishops can’t see. I also think this album is after the events of trench, in which Josh has returned to Dema (after Tyler was taken again in Levitate) to rescue Tyler. I think they’re both trapped in Dema and are being forced to do certain things by the bishops (such as the livestream, the album itself probably, and the music videos). I think the bishops are using Tyler and Josh to make Dema seem like a good, happy place, but I also think that both Tyler and Josh are fully aware of what is happening and are fighting back - using their creativity (the dragon). A further note in favour of this theory is that the dragon had the word ‘destroy’ on its wing - they are using it to destroy Dema (as Tyler said in Bandito, he created this world and could ‘destroy it if I want’). They are using their creativity, this dragon character, to undermine the bishops control by leaving clues for us to follow (things that only we would notice, like Josh being on the right instead of the left in all the photos, the fact that Josh often is subtly wearing something yellow, the dragon breathing yellow fire, all the TVs being involved, etc), and by the end of this narrative, they will not just escape Dema but destroy it completely. Not sure if any of this makes sense, but just thought I’d share!
Hearing the lyrics "searching for that feeling, just like an 'i love you', like a song he wrote, that's never heard" made me think of the lyrics from forest "hands held higher, we'll be on fire, singing songs that nobody wrote". Maybe these lyrics are supposed to capture the lyrics/songs that never made it out of Tyler's head, like the raw material that never manifested into their hugely successful songs like Stressed Out or Ride. These lyrics/songs are not to be neglected though, because they paved the way to the music we did hear- they've shed their original skin (LIKE A DRAGON) and became something tangible. The "he" in "a song he wrote that's never heard" maybe is meant to be ambiguous, because what is a song if we don't know who wrote it? "Singing songs that nobody wrote" could be Tyler's remark on how we all tend to regress into this feeling of having no purpose, and being a nobody, and it's only because we listen and sing their songs that he feels like he has a purpose. But in that same vein, their music has given us a voice, and a family. The clique is family. I think Scaled and Icy might elaborate on topics that we heard in "Kitchen Sink", with purpose and family and stuff :)
“ The song that he never heard and you never learn how to say I love you” I think it is referencing how the boys recently lost their grandpa a couple years ago and is referencing how in legend Tyler talks about his hardship not being able to recognize his own grandfather due to his Alzheimer’s. The lyric may be referencing Jay’s struggle to losing his grandfather and not being able to show him the new music he’s written.
In the greater Twenty One Pilots story, I believe that there is going to be a lot more music about family and friends. As someone who has struggled with depression, a support system, that is many times made out of family and friends is very important to pull yourself out of it. I think that finding your support system and pulling yourself out of DEMA is the "endgame" that Tyler was talking about in that one interview.
I felt like the line “searching for that feeling just like an I love you” is like what we all look for we look for love and validation and when someone tells us they love us for who we are it makes us happy and excited and it’s an overall good feeling. I don’t know if he is trying to describe that feeling by using that example of someone saying I love you, but that’s what I got from it. Along with the words “that isn’t words” correlated to the fact it isn’t searching for the words I love you but for the feeling those words make us feel.
Ohh I love your theories! I had come up with a completely different interpretation of this music video, which made me realize how many different ways this could go! I connected it all with the Dema story instead of to family, and it connected perfectly! There's too much info to write down in a TH-cam comment, but I'll put what detail I thought was the biggest difference between your theories and mine. For the lyric "Don't leave your skin on the floor", I originally thought that it was Tyler's way to tell us very directly to cover up our footsteps ... we’re being too loud about everything happening to Clancy and Dema... I'm afraid we might even be putting the boys and Clancy in danger.

That’s because DEMA is probably controlling them. On the livestream poster it doesn’t give any credit to TØP, it gives all of it to DEMA. They’re still controlled by DEMA, and this album is probably gonna be them being released out of DEMA because of the “shedding skin” aspect
We all can agree that the car we see in their mvs has a lot of significance, and we see it burning down in heavydirtysoul. My theory is that fire too has a lot of significance considering how Leave My City also references fire and burning. In LMC, we also hear him sing, 'It's glowing, embers barely showing. Proof of life in the shadows, dancing on my plans.' And verse two says, 'the burning is so low it's concerning 'cause they know when it goes out, it's a glorious gone. It's only time before they show me why no one ever comes back with details from beyond.' There's a song called 'The Outside' on the tracklist. The website Genius too tells that LMC closes the album with a declaration to escape Dema. And the scaledandicy.com website takes you to a burning animation. Again. Fire. And there are quite a few fairytales where we see Dragons rescuing princesses or people in trouble from dark towers. Dema is a gloomy and dark place and has places like towers. So what if the Dragon from scaled and icy is Tyler's way of representing something that rescued him from Dema? And in Jumpsuit he even says, 'I created this world to feel some control. Destroy it if I want.' If you tilt the dragon's image to 90° right, right behind its white scales you can see the word, 'destroy'. Last but not the least I think colours of the album play a huge role as well. Pink signifies healthiness, contentment, love and innocence and blue signifies faith, spirituality, contentment, peace, tranquility, calm, stability, harmony, unity, trust, truth. So maybe this album will deal with how they have found contentment and peace after Dema. PHEW!
Also they stated before in the blyrryface era that, in that case, blue was a color of defeat. The bishops dont want you to give in to freedom that means being defeated in their perspective. And now they bring these colors that are actually a sign of some rebellion aaaarrghhh

I think one thing you may have missed is the use of water in this album. It seems to be constantly raining, and there is drops of water on Josh's symbols from the first scene of the music video. The dragon is also blue, and the name of the album includes "icy" which alludes to water. The final most important evidence is the album's logo... a poseidons trident.

What do you think about the bottom of the promo pictures saying the album is owned by Dema and doesn’t necessarily reflect the values of the artists? I think he’s calling Clancy... he’s dropped hints that Clancy is dead (scaled and icy is an anagram for “Clancy is dead”) but a lot of the clique think it’s just propaganda from Dema. One of the lines of the song that sticks out to me the most is “when I get home, boy, you better not be there”. It feels like he knows Clancy is still alive and he’s sending him a hidden message to run, but he can’t just straight up say that because he’s under the control of Dema. I think this also might be why the theme seems so happy and colorful and their old logo is no where to be found. It doesn’t feel like TOP because this isn’t TOP, this is Dema. I think that since it's a dema album that they are using Clancy as a way to get us to lose hope, but instead Clancy somehow escaped and is in trench and when tyler was on the phone that's who he was talking to and this song could also be what Clancy said to tyler or what Tyler thinks clancy would say to him and he was talking to someone else on the phone

For the "A song he wrote that's never heard" line I have two theories. First, it made me think of the song forest where he says "singing songs that nobody knows." The second thing it makes me think of is the song The Judge where he sings "The leader of the bad guys sang something soft and soaked in pain ... he must have forgot to close his door" So maybe it's Nico singing a song that wasn't meant to be heard, even though Tyler accidentally heard it. Maybe Tyler is struggling with whether to share what he heard Nico singing or not.

I've been playing a lot of Control lately, so when I saw the "weird world" I was just thinking, "Ah, yes. The astral plane but colorful and less violent."
Like a song he wrote Tyler desires for his brother to grow so much that he does not recognize the child in the family photos. Tyler knows that feeling, already being able to see an old self who had not shed his modesty. “He” is that old (young) Tyler who wrote songs that only his brother heard. Those songs would be extremely special to only them because it belongs only to them and is dripping with the nostalgic excitement from youth that would be so satisfying to recall now that they know how the story of Tyler’s songwriting ends with success. Tyler is talking to his brother about his own former self whom he and his brother both knew.
So when I first saw this video, when the camera panned into the parking lot and tyler was on the pay-phone I thought it was someone from dema holding a torch - like they were finding their way out and now into this new world.

Just a theory: The car symbolizes Tyler's anxiety and depression, and the ski masks symbolize a way to hide your true self and problems.
To me, the car in heavydirtysoul is falling apart and burning. It is a dangerous cage that Tyler is trapped in. Car Radio seems to support this as well; the radio is distracting from the depression and bad thoughts that trap Tyler.
In Guns for Hands, Tyler and Josh use the ski masks to hide their identity. The ski masks are a way to get on stage and make themselves able to perform, without having to show their true selves.
In this new happier world, Tyler has been able to control his depression and anxiety, thus the car is now reduced to a tire; it doesn't confine him anymore. Going along with that, he no longer has to hide his true self behind a ski mask, and the mask is breaking down. As he has learned how to overcome his problems, he is also encouraging his brother to do the same.
The car is a vessel...hence the album name

It amazes me how layered their music is, especially the more they make. When I watched the video earlier today, I was in the middle of a mental breakdown and was hoping it was the kind of bop that would elevate my mood (new song by my favorite band, why shouldn't it?). I couldn't make sense of it at all, thanks to panic brain, but I took notice of the letter psi flashing on the screen throughout the video.
I actually went to find some mental health resources since I hadn't really been emotionally satisfied and one of the first sites I found had the letter psi in their logo. It's pretty common, considering it's a symbol of psychology, but it still struck me.
Their characters in Dema are thought to maybe be putting up propaganda by the bishops, but they've been outside and they've rebelled before. The bright colored scheme mimics a lot of psychological thrillers where things that look soft and pretty really are not. Tyler is telling us to "shed our skin" or take off the ski mask - our masks are whatever we put on to cover up our problems. He's advocating that we stop hiding and finally just get help. We can't use the same mediocre coping mechanisms anymore. The symbol of psi is like an inversion of the propaganda we're seeing. Instead of making us tune in, it flashes and forces us to tune out and see the bigger picture.

Tyler in an old interview said the masks were a way to make the band “faceless.” He didn’t want the music to be all about him. He wanted to allow it to be about greater things, bigger ideas than an individual. I’m sure Tyler still holds to that idea, but perhaps removing the masks in this video shows he willing to make songs that are a little more personal, like this song about his brother.

He is giving examples of his purpose, a song that maybe literally has never been heard or a song that has never been fully understood and therefore becomes his purpose because without him no one fully understands it. I mean that's the whole point of Kitchen sink right? at least that's what he says in the interviews. And as for the bit about an I love you that isn't words, I think with that he is referencing an example of a new purpose for Tyler that we haven heard him sing about before because SHE wasn't born yet. Rosie is his new purpose and she my not be able to use very many words yet, but she can still deliver "an 'I love you' that isn't words" . One could very argue that a lot of the sounds a baby makes to their family are "I love you"s without words. Hence bringing meaning to the inclusion of Rosies baby cooing sound on the track.

I have been thinking about this for a while, so I want to put this out there. My initial reaction to the new song was that the title is very similar to something, but I couldn't pinpoint it. I thought for a while, and I realized there is a song in self-titled called Fall Away. So I looked up the lyrics and realized what had felt so familiar about Shy Away. One word: skin.
Fall Away: "and I can feel the pull begin, feel my conscience wearing thin, and my skin, it will start to break up and fall apart."
Shy Away: "shed your modesty, and the only thing to leave behind is your own skin on the floor."
After listening to both songs on a loop for about two hours, I still felt like I was missing something. I am still not sure what it is, but I'll try to explain. The songs sound like two different parts of the same conversation (?).
In Fall Away, Tyler seems to be confused about what he wants. He questions himself and tries to find his personality. He feels like he wears a mask constantly, even though he doesn't want to.
In Shy Away, Tyler seems to be a little frustrated with his younger self. He talks about not shying away, being himself (I know this is directed at his brother, but it still feels like he is talking about himself as well). He wants to move on from the past, break the cycle in half. (In the music video, he tears his mask.)
I may be just overthinking everything, but I'm just not used to them being so simplistic. I guess I expected more cryptic stuff (which we might get later).
I hope this makes sense (lmao).

I think the music video is about that tey are trapped in dema. A lot of neon lights appear in the video, their clothes are dark and the gas station is empty and gloomy. Colors can only be seen when they are performing, which i think is because dema is broadcasting their show and wants to attract the viewers' attention. The band wants to send us signs through their music, but htey are being supervised, even with the dragon, so they can't tell us too much. When tyler wants to use the yellow phone, he would like to call us, but no one answers, he can't reach us yet. Tyler does some hand movements,referring to the fact this is just what we can see through a telelvision and we should not believe it, cause it's only a propaganda. Lyrically, i think it can also be interpreted as tyler speaks to himself. When he goes back home, to trench, he must shed his skin, his brainwashed self, to be himself again. The line: " don't circle the track, take what you have and leave your skin on the floor" may refer to the escape in the nico and the niners mv, cause dema also has the shape of a circle and blurryface is a cycle too.
the tearing of ski masks could be bc they’re ready to open up about their struggles more directly instead of hiding behind the “masks” of imagery & characters. they realize now they have to bring their problems into the light in order to overcome them so they’re taking off the disguises and being more direct. (i’m not saying the mystery was a bad thing at all, but maybe they’re wanting this album to be focused on THEM and their stories rather than clancy, the bishops, dema etc) just my own theory i could be totally wrong❤️

Okay so I may be completely wrong here, but here are some of my thoughts. I think the dragon is good, and I think it represents creativity (someone said that cyan blue, the colour of the dragon, represented creativity which got me thinking, and also in Levitate Tyler says that he ‘learned to fire breathe’ - dragon imagery - which could be implying that it was around this time that he really began to use creativity to combat his insecurity), and also the dragon breathes yellow fire, which the bishops can’t see. I also think this album is after the events of trench, in which Josh has returned to Dema (after Tyler was taken again in Levitate) to rescue Tyler. I think they’re both trapped in Dema and are being forced to do certain things by the bishops (such as the livestream, the album itself probably, and the music videos). I think the bishops are using Tyler and Josh to make Dema seem like a good, happy place, but I also think that both Tyler and Josh are fully aware of what is happening and are fighting back - using their creativity (the dragon). A further note in favour of this theory is that the dragon had the word ‘destroy’ on its wing - they are using it to destroy Dema (as Tyler said in Bandito, he created this world and could ‘destroy it if I want’). They are using their creativity, this dragon character, to undermine the bishops control by leaving clues for us to follow (things that only we would notice, like Josh being on the right instead of the left in all the photos, the fact that Josh often is subtly wearing something yellow, the dragon breathing yellow fire, all the TVs being involved, etc), and by the end of this narrative, they will not just escape Dema but destroy it completely.
Not sure if any of this makes sense, but just thought I’d share!

Hearing the lyrics "searching for that feeling, just like an 'i love you', like a song he wrote, that's never heard" made me think of the lyrics from forest "hands held higher, we'll be on fire, singing songs that nobody wrote". Maybe these lyrics are supposed to capture the lyrics/songs that never made it out of Tyler's head, like the raw material that never manifested into their hugely successful songs like Stressed Out or Ride. These lyrics/songs are not to be neglected though, because they paved the way to the music we did hear- they've shed their original skin (LIKE A DRAGON) and became something tangible. The "he" in "a song he wrote that's never heard" maybe is meant to be ambiguous, because what is a song if we don't know who wrote it? "Singing songs that nobody wrote" could be Tyler's remark on how we all tend to regress into this feeling of having no purpose, and being a nobody, and it's only because we listen and sing their songs that he feels like he has a purpose. But in that same vein, their music has given us a voice, and a family. The clique is family. I think Scaled and Icy might elaborate on topics that we heard in "Kitchen Sink", with purpose and family and stuff :)
“ The song that he never heard and you never learn how to say I love you” I think it is referencing how the boys recently lost their grandpa a couple years ago and is referencing how in legend Tyler talks about his hardship not being able to recognize his own grandfather due to his Alzheimer’s. The lyric may be referencing Jay’s struggle to losing his grandfather and not being able to show him the new music he’s written.
In the greater Twenty One Pilots story, I believe that there is going to be a lot more music about family and friends. As someone who has struggled with depression, a support system, that is many times made out of family and friends is very important to pull yourself out of it. I think that finding your support system and pulling yourself out of DEMA is the "endgame" that Tyler was talking about in that one interview.

I felt like the line “searching for that feeling just like an I love you” is like what we all look for we look for love and validation and when someone tells us they love us for who we are it makes us happy and excited and it’s an overall good feeling. I don’t know if he is trying to describe that feeling by using that example of someone saying I love you, but that’s what I got from it. Along with the words “that isn’t words” correlated to the fact it isn’t searching for the words I love you but for the feeling those words make us feel.
Ohh I love your theories! I had come up with a completely different interpretation of this music video, which made me realize how many different ways this could go! I connected it all with the Dema story instead of to family, and it connected perfectly! There's too much info to write down in a TH-cam comment, but I'll put what detail I thought was the biggest difference between your theories and mine.
For the lyric "Don't leave your skin on the floor", I originally thought that it was Tyler's way to tell us very directly to cover up our footsteps ... we’re being too loud about everything happening to Clancy and Dema... I'm afraid we might even be putting the boys and Clancy in danger.

That’s because DEMA is probably controlling them. On the livestream poster it doesn’t give any credit to TØP, it gives all of it to DEMA. They’re still controlled by DEMA, and this album is probably gonna be them being released out of DEMA because of the “shedding skin” aspect

We all can agree that the car we see in their mvs has a lot of significance, and we see it burning down in heavydirtysoul. My theory is that fire too has a lot of significance considering how Leave My City also references fire and burning.
In LMC, we also hear him sing, 'It's glowing, embers barely showing. Proof of life in the shadows, dancing on my plans.' And verse two says, 'the burning is so low it's concerning 'cause they know when it goes out, it's a glorious gone. It's only time before they show me why no one ever comes back with details from beyond.' There's a song called 'The Outside' on the tracklist.
The website Genius too tells that LMC closes the album with a declaration to escape Dema. And the scaledandicy.com website takes you to a burning animation. Again. Fire.
And there are quite a few fairytales where we see Dragons rescuing princesses or people in trouble from dark towers. Dema is a gloomy and dark place and has places like towers. So what if the Dragon from scaled and icy is Tyler's way of representing something that rescued him from Dema? And in Jumpsuit he even says, 'I created this world to feel some control. Destroy it if I want.' If you tilt the dragon's image to 90° right, right behind its white scales you can see the word, 'destroy'.
Last but not the least I think colours of the album play a huge role as well. Pink signifies healthiness, contentment, love and innocence and blue signifies faith, spirituality, contentment, peace, tranquility, calm, stability, harmony, unity, trust, truth. So maybe this album will deal with how they have found contentment and peace after Dema.

I love how tøp's songs also have the general meaning like that stated by Tyler, but also the secret meaning that is meant to be discovered by us! Greatest artists ever.
I think one thing you may have missed is the use of water in this album. It seems to be constantly raining, and there is drops of water on Josh's symbols from the first scene of the music video. The dragon is also blue, and the name of the album includes "icy" which alludes to water. The final most important evidence is the album's logo... a poseidons trident.

What do you think about the bottom of the promo pictures saying the album is owned by Dema and doesn’t necessarily reflect the values of the artists?
I think he’s calling Clancy... he’s dropped hints that Clancy is dead (scaled and icy is an anagram for “Clancy is dead”) but a lot of the clique think it’s just propaganda from Dema. One of the lines of the song that sticks out to me the most is “when I get home, boy, you better not be there”. It feels like he knows Clancy is still alive and he’s sending him a hidden message to run, but he can’t just straight up say that because he’s under the control of Dema.
I think this also might be why the theme seems so happy and colorful and their old logo is no where to be found. It doesn’t feel like TOP because this isn’t TOP, this is Dema. They have control over the band now... one could argue that maybe Tyler made friends with that part of his mind. But I also noticed that none of the ski masks have holes in the mouth except for that one part that you showed (and during that part of the song, the lyrics he’s saying are “..boy you better not be there, you’re long gone”) they’re being silenced. He also looks off screen and nods at something at the beginning of the video like he’s been given orders and the whole thing is forced.

For the "A song he wrote that's never heard" line I have two theories. First, it made me think of the song forest where he says "singing songs that nobody knows." The second thing it makes me think of is the song The Judge where he sings "The leader of the bad guys sang something soft and soaked in pain ... he must have forgot to close his door" So maybe it's Nico singing a song that wasn't meant to be heard, even though Tyler accidentally heard it. Maybe Tyler is struggling with whether to share what he heard Nico singing or not.
