WOW! Love this breakdown of the production process on Chlorine, Paul! Had no idea. My fav song on Trench and that’s largely due to the Outro which still makes me cry. 🥹The honesty of Tyler talking directly to us (I believe) after the 1 year hiatus that followed the huge commercial success of Stressed Out catapulted TØP into the limelight. One of my fav all-time TØP lyrics: “I’ve been tested like the end of a weathered flag that’s by the sea” followed by the deep “can you build my house…” Just brilliant. Great production job, guys. I love it even more, knowing all that went into it 👏

Trench is an amazing album, and this is coming from an old guy whose musical wheelhouse is solidly early 1980s. I don’t know what you call it, but that “piano breakdown” chord sequence in Bandito just grabs me by the throat every time.
These videos are awesome to see how much work goes into the production of this album! Hearing the unfiltered intro and the demo tape of Tyler's rap in particular was stunning. Seeing you sample that piano was super cool too. Your videos are an inspiration, Paul Meany.
