My son introduced me to 21 Pilots . The first song he showed me was the video for " Car Radio"....I was immediately and utter hooked. The lyrics, their sound, their whole being is incredible. We saw them in concert together as well. I listen to them every day!! I will be 60 this year. I can't imagine life without them !! This new music is fantastic!!!
50 here...also found through my sons....best live show I have seen...these are definitely a group for the ages...I am now excited for this new album and hopefully a show to follow.🎉
@@jiml3913 wow that was an amazing response. Really opened up my view alot. Thank you kind stranger. I've been listening to Twenty One Pilots since the first time I heard Car Radio when I was like 9 years old. Ever since I've been hooked. Their music really teaches you but feels so relatable at the same time.
I am beside myself, I can't believe how simply this was all laid out, the red tape, the new mask, the bit of a new song at the end, HEARING Clancy's voice. Beside myself.
Yessss so hyped. We technically heard Clancy typing on a computer (likely) at the start of Bandito and a warped version of his voice at the start of Redecorate. Likely finally gonna get more upfront about it a bit more in the music. Surely gonna be a big concept album. Excited for the music and to see how the story closes....
It is amazing! His worst years..his words and his music helped me through some of the worst times of my life...This is amazingly awesome...and I shouldn't just say him. We can't have twenty one pilots without " Josh Dunn on the drums".....
hope it doenst stray away so much from where they started as the new album did. I loved the new album. But i adored the older ones much more. But the older ones handled depression and suicide with a much sharper sword too, wouldnt want Tyler to revist his suicidal pains just to please some fans. After all im guesing he learned to deal with his demons.
@@sarahnoel666and I would say even more considering vessel could also has messages and some more things. With the name itself, the cover covered aswell with a red tape… holding on to you being kinda important to the lore of the lives👀 no? Just me?
The fact that this is finally written out into some kind of story is awesome. I mean, I think its way too good to just be a four minute long short story and needs some kind of full length movie or book but this is still great.
People don’t give Tyler and Josh enough credit for how much of a genius you have to be to be able to come up with something for so long that’s so greatly tied together genuinely fucking insane
still baffles me how their reputation is the "cringe middle school music" (though i do see the attitudes changing now) when they're literally some of the best storytellers i know. to my knowledge, no other band has lore as detailed as this. besides the music is straight up fire and it's clear that they do this for art not for money. they just keep getting better
They are genuinely geniuses in my mind for being able to pull off a project this big and successful. They made an album They knew would mostly flop for the lore and they're coming back on top
The line: "My name's Blurryface and I care what you think. Wish we could turn back time..." is *really* hitting different now. The way the references go waaay back has me in awe. I am so excited for the album. Twenty one pilots artistry amazes me and fills my soul in ways I cannot explain. This video was immaculate. Thank you
I did not spend my middle & high school years in the trenches (pun intended) online dissecting every lyric & piece of media from this band just to have this man explain it all in my 20s
they probably want to get more intimate with their fans as they get older, as we all do. Instead of trying to act out a hidden narrative that people will focus on more than the music, lets make shit canon so we can all follow along with the story on the same page. No more arguments, no more division, just the music.
The fact that the heavydirtysoul music video, a video I was obsessed with when I was TWELVE, is still relevant to the story and new things coming out when I am nineteen is just insane. I love this band so much and the continuity they've created through each album is beyond incredible
It’s even crazier when you realize that they’ve been referencing dema since the first even album. In march to the sea you can hear voices chanting dema
To me it sounded more like soft but confident affirmation. As if Tyler's telling Nico on his face that he is going back to Trench and that he can't stop him
The thing is, they could do it. They have the money, time, passion, and creativity to make it happen. It would be a fantastic way to end the lore. The question is not if they could pull it off, it's if they would choose to.
@@The.real.Court.Jester I mean maybe, but not necessarily. Think of how much they’ve told in just around 20 minutes of music videos. I feel like a two hour movie could be pretty good
4 crazy albums, almost 10 years of music. I was 16 years old when Blurryface came out and it was my interior world since then, I grew up and Trench shaped my twenties. SAI was a fresh breath, still with something dark in it. Guys, I was born ready, let's make this finale mind-blowing !
For the first time this life, the entire lore was TOLD to us. I’m just sobbing from the memories of building theories during the release of past albums. I love all of this and it's so nostalgic that I can't even express the feelings 😭😭😭 good luck Clancy!
@@stewartmann2202 I got an emotional feeling watching this too and I’m a 52 year old mom. My daughter got me hooked on them years ago and it’s one of our favorite things to do together is see them in concert.
It's no wonder that TØP is the only band nowadays that really deserves their success, they managed to tell a story not through just one album, but FOUR, you don't find things like that anymore and this video summarizing it all is simply a masterpiece, it looks like a Maze Runner or Hunger Games saga, but with a powerful message between the lines, thank you Tyler and Josh, you are everything a fan needs!
WHEN HE STARTED EXPLAINING HOW HE WAS FORCED TO DO SCALED AND ICY IT MADE ME SO HAPPY- I JUST LOVE HOW IT’S SO PURPOSEFULLY DIFFERENT ALL FOR THE STORYLINE AND UGHHH 😭 edit: to that one person who said him being forced to make SAI in the narrative doesn’t justify a bad album, i think so many people veiwed it as bad when really, as another person put it: it was FORCED. and of course that was on purpose, it was the whole entire point of the album. if you want more information on how the bishops forced clancy into writing AND preforming SAI, google the clancy letter from March 17th of 2022, it explains it better than I ever could :))
Instantly made me understand why I dislike Scaled and Icy so much. The only song on that album I can tolerate (I actually love it) is The Outside. I’ve been listening since day one, song one and SAI just felt so off to me. I guess maybe it was supposed to be that way.
they wanted to do something more optimistic and that fit to where they are in their lives right now and somehow they managed to fit this whole thing in their ongoing narrative. it's fucking genius.
@@BRMDZ_ i'm so sad for you, because SAI is far from being a bad piece. literally the best tour, with full bands, colourful instrumentation and paul meany's production is absolutely phenomenal. it ain't your vibe, i get it. but besides being a whole new horizon for the band, this album is fire
to all of us that made it this far, to see this come to an end, to be here, still alive. I am so grateful for all of you. You are all amazing and deserving of happiness. Take this feeling, this excitement. Hold it close to your hearts. Thank you TOP for this connection and positivity in our lives.
I think someone like Tyler could never stop writing music. And Josh is probably not easily kept from his drum set either.. They couldn't stop even if they'd try 😂 I found them when they released Vessel and until today I had no idea this story line existed 😂 I wasn't a huge fan of Heathens (too conventional) so I didn't really listen to their last two albums. I (somehow) assumed they had left their quirkyness behind 🤦🏼♀️😅 Anyway, I had a dance party in my living room yesterday evening and jammed to all of their songs. I felt all the feelings I had as a teenager when I found them for the first time. It was lovely! But I must say, I was SO confused by this video because all the comments were talking about this story line from years back 😂😂🤦🏼♀️
This really hit me as someone that both identifies as a Christian and a Self Rehabilitated Cult Escapee…I cannot tell you how much I respect these dualities.
At the end before he says "I am Clancy" a female voice speaks in the background in German which is translated "this secret island made me into a weapon". Another clue? Anyway, BEST BAND EVER!
I love how this is everything the hardcore fans wanted whilst also being an introduction to people that have no idea about the story and can now fully get into. This next album will be like no other, I'm so here for it!
its so funny because ive been listening to them for years, but I never knew there was lore to their videos. I felt I was to far behind to ever understand it, but this video did a great job
in the end there is german whispering "diese unheimliche Insel hat mich zu einer Waffe gemacht" what means "the island has turned me into a weapon" if u guys care
wait that’s actually so cool (also in the uk being called a weapon can be a funny thing and realising that kinda tickled me until i realised it was supposed to be serious)
the sound track (the version of "the outside" from ned's fireplace), the voiceover, the letter, the explanation, the hype, the EVERYTHING. this is gonna be awesome!
I don't think there's ever been more detailed and deeper storytelling within music than what twenty one pilots does. This is absolutely incredible. Every single thing they've ever done is intrinsically connected to everything else. They probably have the story written for the next 5 albums already
You should take a look at what Nine Inch Nails did for their album Year Zero. ARGs, secret shows, hidden codes inside CDs, USB keys with "leaks" stashed in bathroom venues, an entire (cancelled, alas) HBO series was even planned, the lore is insane
Tbf he said "the story" and not "this story" ... so while this msy be the end of the dema story whos to say they wont start another story with the next@Dextinator12
would love to know what you think of our music video lore, i feel like it might be up your alley :) if ur curious there's a playlist on our channel :) if not, have a wonderful day!
Hi, 534 years old here. I have been listening to these boys since the renaissance era. It really warmed my heart to see so many different generations grow to love this band. I can't describe how I love this band and the community. I'm so excited for the new album.
Did the lyrics help with the mental illness of the dark ages and all of the heresy? Glad to hear Tyler and Josh could really spark a movement and Age of Enlightenment though... they are the pioneers of bardcore after all
This kind of thinking isn't THAT rare in my opinion. He's just 1 of the few who've been able to share it with billions of people and hasnt had his arm successfully twisted by the industry, which is obviously run by and made for Western 'normalcy' This kind of thinking is too often squashed out of people or watered down. He and Josh are kicking normalcy's butt, hopefully paving the way for others who are 'too weird' or too imaginative' for mainstream, and allowing more of the - squashed into normal- folks to be exposed to what they probably feel but don't know, they are missing.
@@linkedtothequestion1 that's a great point. Either way they're truly special for sharing their thoughts to encourage others who r pushed to be, as you've said, "normal".
Tyler is probably the best lyricist of the 21st century if you ask me. Pretty much none of his lyrics sound are spitballing and they always have meaning or purpose, and on top of all that, it’s all so poetic. And this is coming from someone who is primarily a fan of the classics. TØP all the way bro!
The first time I heard a Twenty One Pilots song, I was a sad and traumatized 12-year-old kid. Today, at 18, I'm in a much better place, about to graduate high school and feeling proud of how far I've come. The past years haven't been easy. While others my age were out having fun, I was at home, desperately trying to keep myself alive. Depression and PTSD are beasts, but I made it through, and I owe a lot of that to Twenty One Pilots-their songs, the storyline surrounding Dema, and the fandom. All of this gave me strength and made me feel less alone. It helped me help myself. I'm glad I'm still here to see this storyline come to an end. Thank you, Tyler. Thank you, Josh. Thanks to all of you! Stay alive, friends.
I relate to this!! Sending love and hugs from a stranger... If i haven't fought it,i wouldn't be able to see my nephew growing up and screaming every time he sees me... Thank you twenty one pilots.❤
As many other people said, this band is the reason I’m alive today. As a teenager with crippling depression and other mental illnesses they finally gave me a voice and I felt heard. I fell off for a while then I thought their songs felt more “pop-ey” but I’ve come back because I’m in dark place and I knew they would help me. This band is more than a band. They have saved so many people it’s amazing, I love tøp they will always have a deep place in my heart
Also this short film, which is basically what it is, explains why they came out with pop music, they were forced to preform. But now they are back to who they are I love it I love it I love it. It’s so beautiful and amazing and they came back right when I needed them.
I was 15 when I first listened to blurryface. The past 7ish years have been the story of Trench, fighting out of DEMA just to fall back into addiction, self destruction, desperation. I'm now 23 and have "Fight it, take the pain, ignite it" tattooed on my chest for a reason. This band. This music. This storyline. This world Tyler's created is the most accurate representation of the mental illness journey I've ever come across and its so poweful to listen to songs i used to, and so many people still, sob to in their darkest moments, and just scream them powerfully and proudly. Stay alive. Find your way back to trench. We're here for you 💛 From, A fellow Bandito
I’m almost 50 years old. Found 21 pilots during the Blurryface album. So happy that I did. One of my favourite bands of all time. I’m so excited for the new album.
38 here and started listening about the same time, most likely. I grew up with a pro musician as a father and a concert/live music regular as a mother. I also produce music, so I've heard it all. I still rate TOP as probably my favorite musicians of all time.
Yesss… I’ll be 50 this summer. I found them at the end of their ‘hiatus’ and never looked back. Been to 4 shows with my kids and Husband. These boys are phenomenal
A MOVIE, I NEED AN HOUR AND THIRTY MINUTES TYLER. Fr though, this feels like the apex of 12 years of music and development. The kid in me is so hyped right now. Thanks for the journey and for helping me through my teens, best of luck
I’ve been holding on to you since holding on to you Tyler. And I’m 32 now still a fan. No longer confused depressed or addicted to drugs. I have career as a therapist. Thanks for the soundtrack to my transformation.
It feels like 2018 again, listening to Trench for the first time and seeing people theorizing on every bit of lore they can find. It's really nostalgic hearing Tyler recite the lore. I can't wait to see what these guys have in store :)
nostalgic is totally accurate. it's absolutely miraculous we got this video. it would have totally been mind-blowing if I saw it when I was 13 and the lore was just developing
Even though I'm new to the clique, I really love the way they crafted the Trench concept and story. At first, I was quite confused about it, but as I dug deeper, scrutinizing the duo's background and lore, I realized that it was shockingly amazing. I'm so lucky to have Twenty One Pilots in my life! I'm hoping that someday I'll get the chance to meet them personally or be one of their crowds at their performance. Proud Filipino fan here! |-/
At 3:53 there is a german female voice in the background which is saying: "Die uneimliche Insel hat mich zu einer Waffe gemacht". It's the german translation of the last paragraph of Clancy's Letter which says: "This small eerie island has made me a weapon".
She says "Die kleine unheimliche Insel hat mich zu einer Waffe gemacht. Wir glauben beide, dass wir damit die Dynamik des Krieges verändern können." Which is just the translation of the last paragraph of the most recent clancy letter on the dmaorg website. It says "This small eerie island has made me a weapon. We both believe that we can use it to change the momentum of this war.".
@@hannageier44ahh that makes sense, thanks a lot! still interesting that its german... or maybe i missed something, havent really been following them that well..

So you're telling me that I listened to this blurryface when I was 8 and I'm now 15 and it's STILL RELEVANT??? This is insanity, truly excited for what's to come.
I don't know how many times I can watch this video before the sheer magnitude of it all sinks in and I have a complete fit of excitement and overwhelm but let's find out
Incredible stuff, I'm so glad they can afford to go above and beyond like this Did anyone notice that ALL of their album covers now have a red tape across them?
Covering the eyes of each “character” on the album covers.. cryptic, right? All albums except the self-titled album, which sort of makes sense considering it doesn’t tie into the story of Dema
I have chills!!! "I am a citizen. I am an escapee. I am an exception. I am returning to Trench. I AM CLANCY." This new era is going to be SO EPIC!!! 🌈🦋❤💀🌺🌹🌼👽🎀🐾✌🌻
I guess he is describing the speech of the most traditional liars who told us to suffer because that is the rule in the world but at the end it is just an illusion to makes us think we have not the chance to get together into something beyond amazing...
I'm crying so hard because of all the work, all the time, all the references, all these years. All these years I've been in love with this band, gotten a tattoo for them, seen them, lived for them because they said Friend, Please. I love this band. I love Tyler and Josh, and I'm so thankful for their existence and their work. Thank you, Twenty One Pilots.
I have tears in my eyes bro. I was a hardcore skeleton clique when I was like 15 (2017), and seeing everything tie together in their lore now is insane. I love twenty one pilots.
I’m a new fan and I discovered twenty one pilots back in September after I was watching Chester Bennington from Linkin Park singing their songs Judge, and honestly the greatness with the duo and their fans is arguably amazing
I find Tyler’s voice is SO cathartic!! Both his singing and speaking voices just put my brain in the happiest of places!! This band has gotten me through a near death incident, chronic illnesses diagnoses, and 27 surgeries no lie!! I’ve been a huge fan since 2009 and would be lost without Tyler and Josh’s creative genius to give me the joy and energy their music brings me each day!! Can’t wait to see them live again!!! The fact that this is finally written out into some kind of story is awesome. I mean, I think its way too good to just be a four minute long short story and needs some kind of full length movie or book but this is still great.
People don’t give Tyler and Josh enough credit for how much of a genius you have to be to be able to come up with something for so long that’s so greatly tied together genuinely fucking insane
still baffles me how their reputation is the "cringe middle school music" (though i do see the attitudes changing now) when they're literally some of the best storytellers i know. to my knowledge, no other band has lore as detailed as this. besides the music is straight up fire and it's clear that they do this for art not for money. they just keep getting better

they probably want to get more intimate with their fans as they get older, as we all do. Instead of trying to act out a hidden narrative that people will focus on more than the music, lets make shit canon so we can all follow along with the story on the same page. No more arguments, no more division, just the music.
I did :)

Tyler's a genius. His kinda thinking is really rare and precious to this world. I love this band. Everything's so unique about them.

I have tears in my eyes bro. I was a hardcore skeleton clique when I was like 15 (2017), and seeing everything tie together in their lore now is insane. I love twenty one pilots.
Same here it's like a part of me got introduced in 4min
YES I KNOW
I’m a new fan and I discovered twenty one pilots back in September after I was watching Chester Bennington from Linkin Park singing their songs Judge, and honestly the greatness with the duo and their fans is arguably amazing
DUDE SAME I got into twenty one pilots when I was 10 years old also back in 2017 and I am amazed at what the lore has grown into
What’s a hardcore skeleton clique? You guys just where skeleton gloves and hoodies with rib cages on them?
god damn i love this. also tyler you got a great voice, FOR RADIO!!!!! JAJAJAJAJAA
you’re so real for this toddy i hope you’re doing well
Alastor
He doesnt know you lil bro
@@takenbye_sleep Indeed a very Alastor thing to say
I don’t like that someone like you is a fan
The ending is so cool how it says who he is and it plays overcompensate in the background
Much ❤️ !!!
right!? he needs to narrate audiobooks
Absolutely!! I would listen to anything he narrated!! His kiddos are SO lucky to have Tyler and Jenna to read to them! Both of their voices are super calming! They’re such a lovely family ❤️!!
It's so oddly comforting to hear Tyler/ Clancys voice. I feel so lucky to have made it this far 😊❤
mash the banana spotted in the wild
hehehe. Hello panna!! :D
Let's just admit that Tyler's voice is beautiful.
Tyler woke up one day, rolled out of bed, called up Josh and said “I’m feeling… chaotic.”
