Wow, this is really almost more helpful than a lot of the "how to" videos using Ample guitars that I've seen. Thanks for posting this. Time to subscribe I guess. OH WAIT!! I already AM subbed. Excellent video tutorial. THANKS.
Oh damn... from the thumbnail description I thought this was going to end with a demonstration of this strum pattern with all the Ample Sound acoustic guitars so that I could easily compare them pick my own favorite... but alas it was not so. The sound of this one was very realistic once you got through. It sounds better than all the ones I have already, and I have collected a lot of virtual acoustics over the years. I think I should have jumped in on the Ample Sound acoustic(s) years ago for better results.
Wow 😮 a lot of sophisticated and sensitive knowledge is given in a relaxed, concentrated, step by step friendly way, like if you are talking to a friend or to yourself, I’m subscribed before the video is finished. 👍
thanks, very interesting. I use Maschine 2 by NI. Could you please tell me how to correct the delay on this Daw to make the Ample guitar riff go in time? Thanks, Luigi
Thanks for these simple-to-understand and informative videos! I'm trying to figure out a good workflow for using Ample Guitar for programming rhythm guitar tracks (electric, primarily) for my songs, and have questions about best practices in terms of when to use Riffer, when to use Strummer, and when to just use the underlying MIDI editor in the DAW. Do your paid courses cover this sort of workflow question?
In ableton live, You should set the ample adsr to 35ms then delay compensation -35ms (in daw). That's the best possible sound you will get. Using 1ms (in ample) and delaying -50ms will not work in ableton live.
I downloaded the demo version of this and installed as per instructions in the pdf that came with it. My DAW would not recognize it, so I have not been unable to use it. I am running windows 10 64 bit with PreSonus Studio One Pro Daw. any suggestions please?
Again Awesome video. I am hoping I can translate this somehow into music labs acoustic guitars. At 7:45 You talk about the Delay compensation in every DAW. Would you possibly know where to find this in Reaper. And lastly do you recommend the acoustic strumming book for practice and learning strumming patterns. Thanks again.
Go to "sends, receives and hardware output options" for the MIDI track in question and set "media playback offset" to whatever your guitar settings require, could be -20 ms or -50 ms for example
Hey! Could you be able to help me modify the delay compensation in Logic Pro X? I cannot find it and cant solve the guitar sounding a little bit off. :( I love your tutorials and your videos are the reason I chose to buy some amplesounds guitars this black friday! Thanks for everything.
Sure thing. Here is the resource: support.apple.com/guide/logicpro/delay-region-playback-lgcpf7c0b620/mac In the region inspector located in the top left hand corner of the main window, you can select a drop-down menu. Select the delay menu and choose the delay compensation number. I usually like going by milliseconds(ms) instead of ticks. Then choose a negative number (if your Ample Sound sample sounds like it starts late). -30 to -50 is a good range.
Very inspiring, thanks. These last videos are also “inspiring” me to get your courses on Ample Sound guitars! By the way, what would guide your choice of using the Riffer vs the Strummer to program strumming?
I would use strummer to manually play my strums and get specific chords. I like to record my playing so it can get a more human expression. However, if you want to create licks in combination with strumming, or insert hammer-on notes within a strum, Riffer is your best choice. You can also delete notes in a chord within riffer, whereas in strummer the only way you can change the amount of notes you play in a strum is by velocity, which gives slightly less control.
Your tutorials are always very useful, but I have a question: how can I vary the velocity of a single note of a chord obtained with a strum? I noticed some preset riffs with strum chords composed of notes with different velocities but I couldn't figure out how to do it ...
It’s on par with the best! I happen to think music labs real guitar series, orange tree samples evolution engine series, & Shreddage 3 series are among vsts that have an argument for being the best.
Absolutely. This is a beginner series. It’s going to get more complex as it goes on. I wanted to keep it short, but I should have mentioned that. There are other things I didn’t include, like the fact that when you change chords, there is a slide noise between chords changes as well as dampened notes. But I will include that in the next video. Thanks for your feedback!
@@hifimidi As a loyal user of Ample Sound, thank you so much for making this video. I think it's really too bad that so many people give up on this software because they don't know how to use it.
I own several Ample instruments. I never use them because I own guitars by Native Instruments and Music lab and they already have tons of patterns. Why bother with going through all this work with Ample when the other samplle libraries are so easy?
Good one. This wasn’t about being easier than the real thing. Real guitarists use this, just like real pianists use virtual pianos. It removed the need for miking, studio space, re-recording, owning expensive gear, and it allows you to change small details without having to start over.
@@hifimidi yes i get it, being a professional guitarist i also use this VST sometimes cause i don't own a Taylor yet. Thx for the reply, love your channel!
To me it just doesn't sound good enough. Not you're fault, I just don't think the technology is there yet. It's specifically in the transition between upstrum and downstrum it sounds fake. I suspect most people who rave about these guitar VST:s are keyboardists.
Hi from Italy. A question. I have cubase and ample guitar. I have a project with 10 tracks at 66 bpmin Cubase and I wanted to insert a guitar solo at 132 bpm but Cubase transforms the Ample Guitar midi track to 66. How can I do it? Thank you

You explained it so simply. Thank you and keep doing this excellent work.
This is more than Awesome. This opens up a tonne of possibilities. Many Many Thanks.
Keep these coming. I would love to see more of these videos for electric guitars
cool , I would like a hellraiser video especially on the keyswitches. I use REAPER !

Thanks Ruben, that was an extremely helpful intro to the Riffer section.

Generally the best "how to" video on whole TH-cam! Cheers!🍷💪🙏

Great tutorial! What Ample bass would you recommend for "meat and potatoes" folk/rock/country type of a sound?
I’ve been manually nudging the damn midi lol. Ample makes some killer sounding vsts.

I've been searching for a video to explain how to do chords with Hammer ons either in Riffer or strum pattern, any?
Thank you GENIUS! 😄
Fantastisch Ruben…. Learn a lot from you…. but This is not in your Amplesound course??
It will be today or tomorrow morning. I have to make a version for TH-cam and my website, and I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Can't find the velocity variance function in my Cubase 11 pro...Is it a new feature only available in Cubase 12?
made an account on your site, can't find the products page to purchase?

How to create tuplet in riff?
how do u chcuk or mute strumm ?

How can you play a chromatic scale along a single string?
You need to use the force string key switch. F#0-B0, I believe.

You'll probably have to export it from the plugin and tweak it inside your DAW, like he did at the end. 9:27
