My AKX10 just arrived and it is all clear to me, however there are two things I would like to ask you about: 1. Is it possible to change the shortcuts at the bottom of the touch screen? 2. Is it possible to turn off the bass and chord that plays on the left hand side when the style is not playing? Thanks
Great video! I was know that this "too good to be true". Specially the flow for midi song edit... that is disappointing. And all others. I hope they will fix that and please make another video.
The CM7 chord input for styles isn’t really a limitation IMO. It’s on other boards, and it’s to help with chord recognition. Have the other issues been addressed yet? I am surprised because we were initially told this might not make it to the US, but apparently it has. It has sparked some interest over here.
Korg and Casio keyboards don't limit you to C7, which makes programming much more flexible. And Medeli itself wants to remove this restriction. This and some of the errors mentioned should be solved with a firmware update. That's all I know from contacting support. However, the new firmware has been expected for a few weeks - it was said to be released at the end of March or beginning of April. It is currently not published. You can check it here, I guess then a red 'new' will appear after the word firmware: www.medeli.com.hk/akx10
First of all, thank you for doing all this work and putting it on TH-cam! I am considering buying this keyboard and I think I can live with those very minor flaws you have described. Can you record a sequence of accompaniment (without melody, just a a sequence of intro, chords, fill-ins, chords, outro) so that the keyboard can play this backing alone once you press start, and you can then play a saxophone (or something else) along with it?
Of course you can record „songs“ and play them back. At the moment the problem is, that you cannot change the instruments used while recording afterwards. As far as I know, this issue will be fixed with the next firmware, but as long, it is like I said.
I think I understand what you are trying to do as I also do the same. Record an intro in the style without the melody. During live play, once you activate this intro , the backing music will be played while you play solo melody with right hand and with the joystick to enhance the solo part. On Yamaha keyboards, yes, it's doable. On Medeli AKX10, I do not know yet until I get one (within next few days). As advertized the Grand Suite software allows to create custom styles, hopefully with intros/endings taken from MIDI files.
i wonder if when you record a song and cant edit the sounds it is because it saves a MIDI program change into each channel. Maybe it embeds the piece of midi code that tells the device for example use bank 1 patch 3 which would likely be some sort of piano. Is it possible to save the song to a computer in MIDI format and look to see if there is midi program change setting at the start of the song . If so you could edit it in your computer and save back with a different program change setting? Of course I maybe completely wrong and the machine may not store a program change in it in MIDI file format. I don't own a machine yet but was going to buy 1 next Christmas. I am very use to importing a MIDI file into my Computer DAW program and having to edit or delete the MIDI data in the file that is there at the very beginning of the file and before the first notes are played. . Data usually includes a program change number and a volume setting so the individual parts like drums and piano and bass are set at volumes that sound balanced. Thank you for your time and video. Very informative. As I said I might be completely wrong here of how the machine functions but this idea was the the first thing I thought of.
Then it would be easy for Medeli to change this point. An instrument with which I cannot change the instruments afterwards is not useful for this application. Medeli urgently needs to make improvements. Not everyone wants to use a computer as well. The keyboard should be able to do that.
@@pcpanikMusik Pcpanik, thank you so much for posting all of these videos about the AKX10. I know that you would prefer to post everything in German, so the extra effort is much appreciated. @@paulhess7408 Well, I think I'll go for something cheap at first. Like a Casio CT-X700. When I learn a little finger control, I was thinking a SL88 Grand with a Mixface to get finger strength and do a little composing. When I'm ready for an arranger, I'm looking at the Yamaha DGX670. But, for about the same kind of money, the AKX10 seems like a much better deal. I'll seriously consider it if they address some of the flaws noted in the video.
Lovely video. I just recently bought a very lightly used Medeli AKX10 and really like it, but I am having a couple of issues: 1. The LEDs around the three control knobs aren't working - the left two are completely off, and on the third one ("Volume") only the last two LED segments work. The knobs themselves work fine so it's not a big issue. The keyboard is almost brand new so I was wondering if this isn't a software bug - have you experienced something like this? 2. This is actually more annoying - whenever I switch off the instrument, the Mixer and most of the Global settings are reset - for example, I decrease the volume of the style, and after restart, it is back to default 95. Also some of the Global effects like Reverb are reset to their default stage. Is this the way the keyboard is supposed to work, or am I missing something?
First, I would recommend to install the new Firmware: th-cam.com/video/AQ6CchPA-Rc/w-d-xo.html After this not all settings will be reset after power off. But in fact: this ist the way how a lot of keyboards work. You have to store your personal setting inside a "Performance Memory". E.g. Bank 01, Memory 01. I have no problems with the hardware so far. There was a bit of rattling going on, but this could be easily fixed. If your LEDs ar dead, I would ask the original dealer for a replacement in terms of warranty.
@@pcpanikMusik Thanks a lot for your input! I'm already on the latest firmware, I guess I need to get used to how the keyboard works - this is my first "proper" arranger, coming from a PSR-E463. I'm working around it exactly as you suggested, using Bank 01 - Mem. 1 for my "default" start setting.
No Indian styles found by me. There are some Indian and Japanese instruments inside, but I don't think it's designed for the Indian market. If you take a look inside the Manual you can find a list of all sounds, styles, songs.Maybe the Medeli A2000 is different?
Thx for the English bro. I'm looking to buy the Thomann AK-X1100, which is exactly the same as the Medeli!!!!! Hope it doesn't have any problems. Thx for this information!

What is wrong to show mistakes and problems? (What is not a complaint.) Do I have to accept something because the keyboard was cheap? After all, it is not a cheap product. Apart from that, the manufacturer is very trying to solve the problems quickly and professionally and we expect a new firmware for April 2022. If one would not draw attention to the manufacturer, maybe nothing would happen. Medeli wants to play with the big guys. And so far I can tell by my experiences that the support works excellent.

The Medeli brand is definitely sold in the US I have purchased several I have purchased the SP 4200 stage piano and the AW 830 workstation
I just recently bought a very lightly used Medeli AKX10 and really like it, but I am having a couple of issues:
First, I would recommend to install the new Firmware: th-cam.com/video/AQ6CchPA-Rc/w-d-xo.html
After this not all settings will be reset after power off.
Has this keyboard Indian sounds like santoor, benjo, harmonium, vibraphone, fantacia, swarmandal, harmonium, sitar and Indian style
No Indian styles found by me. There are some Indian and Japanese instruments inside, but I don't think it's designed for the Indian market. If you take a look inside the Manual you can find a list of all sounds, styles, songs.Maybe the Medeli A2000 is different?
It has Santur
А клавиши ,которые нужно постоянно мазать ибо они начинают трещать и скрипеть,это ужасно .
Thx for the English bro. I'm looking to buy the Thomann AK-X1100, which is exactly the same as the Medeli!!!!!
Hope it doesn't have any problems.
Thx for this information!
Thanks for the tip ! It is also cheaper. Do you have any feedback ?
@@daker67 nothing, not a thing. I put that on hold as I don't have enough information on the Thomann unit. So I got the i3 Korg workstation for now.
I'm still definitely interested in the
AK X1100 but will wait till others get it and share their opinion...

@@leftymadrid ..how do you like the Korg i3? Are the styles and sounds better? What about sequencer, etc?
Because it is made in china?
Hi
Save youre money to buy the original , Yamaha SX700 . its worth yo pay a little more .
Yeahhh.. I'm agree . 👍👍
Don’t complain for that price! No offense!
Korg i3
AKX10 was too good to be true. I'll stick with my proven Roland Fantom X6.
Did you really just compare a flagship, for 2008, to a low cost arranger?
@@rjakiel73 ehem, 2004 flagship. Fantom man since the S.
