Its cool that Warner Bros leaves these out in the public and acknowledges their existence and how whats right and wrong has changed while disney just bans them
In case if anybody is curious, the voice actors are: • Michael Maltese as Goosolini, • John McLeish as the Narrator and the Dove of Peace (some Disney fans might remember him as the narrator of some Goofy cartoons), • and, of course, Mel Blanc as everybody else.
these old cartoons show us the the feeling's of the era that the countys and cartoons that they were made in and its like a time capsule. its a perfect capture of how comedy was around even in the worst of times.
Sooo.. from all these comments, I don't see to find anybody talking about 7:01, when that dude jumped straight out of a poster and started firing his musket like it was an automatic assault rifle
The background music is very important in this cartoon. First is the "Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald" (Stories from Vienna Forest, Waltz, by Johann Stauß.) That indicates Hitler in an Austrian. Second is the song from "The Barber of Seville", by Rossini (Sorry I'm not familiar with Italian), and that indicates Mussolini is Italian. The last is "The Bartered Bride - Skocná (Dance Of The Comedians)" by Smetana, and that indicates the Axis is just "Comedian", or "Clown". So, a very important part to understand this cartoon, or propaganda, is to know where musics come from.
I like how they apologize for the openly racist characterizations by including “We wish to apologize to the nice ducks & geese who may be in the audience”
5:44 America 1941 5:52 Pearl Harbor 6:13 Hiroshima & Nagasaki 6:20 Sicily Campaign 6:23 Landing of D-day 6:33 Battle of the Bulge 6:34 Poland & France 6:37 Stalingrad 6:45 Warsaw Uprising 6:51 Japanese Invasion of USSR 6:54 German Invasion of USSR *I know it's the same character* 7:01 Battle of Berlin Note: I know these ARE NOT in historical order, just wrote down what fit the situation.
I still remember watching this in class at my french highschool and laughing my ass off until the Tojo duck scene. That's when there was a beat and everyone was watching me, because I was the only Japanese in the class.(VDM) Still cracks me up sometimes!
4:00 " Tis love that's bright, and not is gained by show of might." Damn, can't believe the whole world decided to avoid what this dove fought for since all we do is show off our military might, especially us in the U.S and those in Russia. It's so sad to me how only in times of war we have this feeling, but when there is peace everyone wants violence and death.
When a short from 1942 has better animation than a lot of shows in 2017.
To be fair, the Mussolini one was kinda spot on.
Its cool that Warner Bros leaves these out in the public and acknowledges their existence and how whats right and wrong has changed while disney just bans them
I can't believe this cartoon is over 70 years old.
The animation is excellent in these old cartoons.
Goosolini is legit one of the funniest things to come out of animation at this time.
3:05 i like how well they referenced mussolinis speech, they really nailed it
2:40 “Sieg Heil Boy! Im from South Germany!” Got me laughing hard
"We wish to apologize to the NICE DUCKS and GEESE who may be in the audience." - The Management

Apparently the stereotype in Germany for Bavarians is similar to the American stereotype for Texans
Nazi Germany: 😠
Italy: the crimson chin

"I am Chinese, made in Japan" lol
Can't believe that Hitler predicted star wars storm troopers
As someone who loves history, I am proud to officially say that this is my new favorite cartoon.
when you realize animation from 1942 is better than most cartoons now
If you listen closely at 6:39 you can hear "beat em up for pearl harbour!"
I am Italian
Mussolini's parody was pretty accurate
He was a duck
6:35 "HERE'S ONE FOR PEARL HARBOR" cracks me up everytime.
80 years later this is still absolutely amazing quality and it’s funny
This is probably one of the funniest cartoons I’ve ever seen.
when the narrator says 'artistic' it really sounds like 'autistic'
3:00 most accurate portrayal of mussolini ever
I’ve seen a lot of people make reviews about this short in their most serious tone , but this short is actually frocking hilarious
3:17 I'm dying out of laughter bc of the little chicken with the steel ball chained voice lmfao

3:27 Why do I love this moment
The little bird who claps for Mussolini is Albania
I also wonder if the rabbit represents Stalin.
Goosolini literally said "eight, nine, ten, every fruit", I'm dying.
we need shows like this again
Oh my god that Japanese duck made my jaw drop.
Sooo.. from all these comments, I don't see to find anybody talking about 7:01, when that dude jumped straight out of a poster and started firing his musket like it was an automatic assault rifle
I'm honestly rolling in bed laughing my ass off over hitler duck lol
The stormtroopers gag gets me every time 😂
5:29 can't believe they predicted Dr Livesey walk this far back
“Otto nove e dieci, Tutti frutti tutti frutti” best discorso ever ahahah 🇮🇹
When classic cartoons got political, they pulled no punches.
and my god what a great time of animation this was.
Definitely one of Norm McCabe's best shorts he directed along with his 3 Daffy shorts.
Mussolini beacame dictator before Hitler
TUTTI FRUTTI!!!!!
The idea of having cartoons like these on the TV everyday is really interesting
As someone who enjoys history
I can say this is my favourite show
But, Mussolini came first and Mussolini didn't like Hitler all that much.
the rabbit is stalin?

When you realize the lightning bolts on your grandpa’s helmet doesn’t mean he’s an electrician
I love how this is almost making constant jokes.
It's 7 minutes long, but it feels like 10 minutes
I love the duck that yelled out "Give 'em one for Pearl Harbor!" while the ducktators were getting their asses handed to them.
The duck from South Germany actually looks kinda cute
I like how they apologize for the openly racist characterizations by including
“We wish to apologize to the nice ducks & geese who may be in the audience”
-One, Two
"Button on my shoe"
-Three, four
"Shut honorable door"
-Five, six
