An excellent lecture. Thank you Dr. Davies.

The laws of the physical universe came into existance before Planck Time (10xE-44 sec. after the BB) in the Primordial Era. This is beyond our limits of observation.

Very wild barely grounded speculation.Physics used to be a respectable science.

Physicists have been making wild speculations since the birth of physics. Including the likes of no less than Einstein and Newton. This is actually one of the conservative views expressed in this presentation -- and one that's actually falsifiable. Personally, I agree with you on the general point that there's excessive speculation. But, if you think that makes physics an unrespectable as a science perhaps you confuse the fringes of some theoretical physics with the work done by the majority of physicists.

NOT saying fine tuning is a credible theory but it is a known fact that physicists came up with the multiverse hypothesis to explain away evidence for fine tuning.

Actually, not true. The multiverse explains fine tuning as such, but is derived from models of inflation, string theory and the many world interpretation of QM.

      Hence, the phrase "theoretical physics".

I've never seen so many strawman arguments in my life.

Explain? Davies is respected as a scientist.
