I sure miss this guy. Not that I ever got to shake his hand. He was a great friend to all of us with that voice and words. Gregg never sold out, he kept that style till the end.
You can channel that handshake through me if you'd like. I went out for a midnight supper at the Pearl Restaurant & Oyster Bar in New Orleans after watching the Allmans do a New Year's Eve show at A Warehouse (1972?). He was sitting at the back with a pretty young lady sharing a meal. I think her name was Dixie Meadows. We were the only ones in the place. After thinking about leaving them in peace, I finally decided to walk by and say a quick hello. He very graciously chatted with me for a moment and we shook hands. Oh, and she gave me a sweet smile also.
Gregg is one of the best. I seen him at the August Jam 1974 Charlotte Motor Speedway. I was 16 years old. Seen him many times and the last time was 2 years before he passed away. There will never be another like him. We had the best music in our day's.
This is a cool version of one of my favorite songs. They should put Laid Back right along side of the Fillmore East album in the Library of Congress to preserve forever!
Well I've been out walking I don't do that much talking these days These days These days I seem to think a lot About the things that I forgot to do For you And all the times I had the chance to Well I had a lover I don't think I'll risk another these days These days These days I seem to be afraid To live the life that I have made in song But it's just that I have been losing For so long These days I sit on cornerstones Count the time in quarter tones 'till ten My friend And now I believe I've come To see myself again These days I sit on cornerstones Count the time in quarter tones 'till ten My friend Please don't confront me with my failure I'm aware of it
Thanks! Last line is "failures" plural and "I'm aware of them". At least that is how Gregg sings it...not sure if that is the exact line Jackson wrote.
I had a lover I don't think I'll risk another wow that's prolific love! Genius songwriter! Genius musician! Thank you Greg and your friends and family!
I think this recording really matches what Greg intended to be on the original studio track he's singing it in a lower key sounds a little more melancholy like being in a prison cell!?
MY PARADOX: THOUGH " THESES DAYS JUST GOT LONGRT(DAYLIGHT SAVINGS)< THESE SAME ONES TOO RAPIDLY BECOME SHORTER FOR MYSELF> NO REMEDIES< SOLUTIONS< OUTSIDE & INSIDE(FAMILIAL) ASSISTANCE IS ABLE TO YET COUNTER THIS CURSED PHENOMANEM>
Watching this for the Thousandth time on 11-17-23! Miss you Gregg. There’ll never be another 🤟🏼
A song written by a teenager delivered with sadness and heartfelt honesty by an old man. Just beautiful.
Amazing this came from a 16 year old. Jackson Browne is one talented guy but Gregg owns this song!
Only Gregg can do this song justice.
The world is an emptier place without you Gregg.
David Couch
Amen And always will be.
I feel like he’s still here..….his voice and music is so monumental….forever…
So very true
Such a talented and troubled soul. RIP Greg you are missed

It's like listening to a raw nerve. The voice and lyrics fit so well together.
PLEASE DONT CONFRONT ME WITH MY FAILURES IM AWARE OF THEM. THANK YOU GREGG FOR SPEAKING FOR ALL OF US. NO ONE CAN SING IT LIKE YOU. SORRY JACKSON
"please don't confront me with my failures, I'm aware of them"...that line gets me every time Gregg sang it.
16 months of losing
20 years of work helping gone.
Heartache moods again.
Thx Gregg.
so much pain in those eyes...so sad
I sit and practice everyday... This is one I'll never not play.
Greg's voice travels straight to the soul.
You’re alive in my heart and my memory and always will be as long as I’m alive. Miss you Greg.

Got to see him at Coco Booth in Cary NC About a year before he passed away. One of the best to ever grace the stage .
BRILLIANT ONE MAN Show🙏🎉
I don't have the words...the honest beauty and power of this song. Never heard the like.
It hard to believe that Jackson Browne wrote this song when he was 17 years old...how does a 17 year old relate to this?Wonderful song
Old soul
I'm crying inside, blows me away every time.
The emotion pours out through the lyrics. Just a beauty Gregg
Beautiful version of ' These Day's. The harmonica and harmony sounds great!
He touches my heart, noone else can like he does.
Thank you J.B for writing this song. Gregg's version is my favorite.
Simply the best! 🍄
Heartbresking
I "discovered" this song back in an old book & record shop on L.I. back around 1986. I haven't stopped crying since.
Gregg Allman one of the best musician's to ever play and sing. We had the best music ever in our era.
These impromtu jams show their musicality in all it's glory.....
This is a cool version of one of my favorite songs. They should put Laid Back right along side of the Fillmore East album in the Library of Congress to preserve forever!
Rest easy, Gregg
Well I've been out walking
I don't do that much talking these days
These days
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do
For you
And all the times I had the chance to
Well I had a lover
I don't think I'll risk another these days
These days
These days I seem to be afraid
To live the life that I have made in song
But it's just that I have been losing
For so long
These days I sit on cornerstones
Count the time in quarter tones 'till ten
My friend
And now I believe I've come
To see myself again
These days I sit on cornerstones
Count the time in quarter tones 'till ten
My friend
Please don't confront me with my failure
I'm aware of it
Thank you
Mary that is a beautiful song and nobody could ever sing like Gregg could.
aware of them
….of my failures, I have not forgotten them”
Thanks! Last line is "failures" plural and "I'm aware of them". At least that is how Gregg sings it...not sure if that is the exact line Jackson wrote.
My heart will never be the same without Greg Allman. He still sings me to sleep.

I've seen Gregg perform this live a couple times, but here he's living the song. All of life's pain. Rest in peace brother.
CLASSIC GREGG ALLMAN🙏🥰🎉
This is Gregg Allman at his best..
Amazing songwriter and lyricist.
Jackson Browne wrote this song. Gregg Allman owns it
Great performance! RIP brother Gregg
Rest well, Brother Gregg.
J B wrote this as a teenager, what a tortured teen life 😥😥
I love Jackson’s version and I love this one it’s hard to say which is better but you can honestly say that Greg Has that sorrowful sound
Gregg Allman & Graham Nash yesss!
Nice touch with the harmonics
digg it peace greg
There's great sadness in this song, but in a good way...
Great
I like the Jackson Browne/Greg Allman version from the "ALL MY FRIENDS" show in GA. Check it out...truely fantastic!
this says it all....
To think Jackson Browne wrote this at 17 still amazes me....
If we are being technical, Browne wrote it at 16 years old! Unbelievable, right?
This is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard.
Reflection~* Looking back.:')
I think this recording really matches what Greg intended to be on the original studio track he's singing it in a lower key sounds a little more melancholy like being in a prison cell!?
Need to hear Jackson do this with him... Simply Amazing.....
Who's singing background for Greg come on now keep this knowledge and music flowing break it down!
Sad that jaiome and dickie betts are the only 2 surviving members of the allman brothers band r.i.p gregg
Before in Greg's last life he was a hobo on a train! Can you dig that? And Dwayne Allman was his conductor! conductor!!!
only one white man who can truly sing the blues. ....muddy water's. . tru dat! !!!!
Never heard this version before. Not bad but, honestly ... for me it's got to be Jackson's own version every time.
Jackson.......
LitTlE To LaTE ,tHiS was a GrEaT Artist gOnE to SoOn
Gregg does my favorite version of this song except he changes the last line. I liked it better the way JB wrote it.
I'm crazy I'm aware of that! That's my failure!
Listen to David Allan Coes version.
muddy waters said it like it is there's only one white man who can truly sing the blues.....tru fnk that
Every time I see him I think wow he must be thinking of Cher! A woman can put you in prison emotionally! Who knows only Greg!
Jesus...cut the guy a break....you get what he's gettin' at....just let it be
He's lookin into the Soul of Jackson Browne's.. They were roomees. Shared more than just a room I guess....
What the fuck man, are you saying they smashed?

good god, what an embarrassment. To live a life and not remember so much of it. Gives new meaning to 'Wasted.'
My god, what a train-wreck. The album is a masterpiece, but this performance is garbage
OMG I love this!!!
I'm crying inside, blows me away every time.
Scott boyer wrote most of the album. I would know .
My 💓 breaks.....I love you Scott Russ
Scott Hester These Day’s was written by Jackson Brown when Jackson was 16.
