Rest in peace Southern Gentleman, you'll never know what your music meant to me.

Gerald West : Hey Mr West, I’m with you...I was 14 first time I heard him but I was 21 the first time I met him. God I wish I’d known then what I know now...would have spent even more time after he was done playing. It’s just that he was soo darned high I couldn’t relate. It did seem like he wanted to though...he sat down next to me at “Sam’s Famous Bar” in S. Daytona. After we talked for a bit he got up and played his guitar and sang. I couldn’t believe he could play. He was so high. I feel so damned haunted by him. He was genius with a cross I guess.
+Destiny Starr The original lines (from Jackson Browne) are: "Please don't confront me with my failures I had not forgotten them." I think both versions get the message across! :-)
As I'm writing this I have tears in my eyes. This has been a very sad may. Two of the greatest rock singers of all time have passed on. GregAllman and Chris Cornell. Two of my favorites. Their music was real and solid. They spoke to me in ways most people can't. Today is my birthday and my hero is gone. Farewell guys you will never be forgotten. You will live on forever threw all the great music and memories you left us.
Still can't get it in my head that that voice is silent, now for a year. I am 68 and I still listen to this and Whipping Post every single day. My touchstone!
I just finished reading his book for the 2nd time. I always end up in tears. He was such a warm, sweet man. so talented and humble. He is missed very much but it makes me feel better knowing he's with his entire family in heaven along with Barry Oakley, and Butch Trucks all making beautiful music.
Thank you for sharing this sweet version of one of my favorite Jackson Browne songs. That slide show brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. Gregg Allman is without peer...
A piece of a lot of childhoods passed when he left us. The fact that we have the music to admire for all time is proof there is a benevolent god up in heaven.
Not sure what version of them singing together you've seen, I've seen a couple versions with different edits, but when Browne is at a specific place in the song his voice cracks with emotion, and Gregg catches his eyes and gives him a smile. A very tender moment in a glance. I'll never forget it
One of my favorite songs he ever did even if he didin't write it. I play that song on my quitar. Greg has so much meaning in his voice. A real classy musician. and of course the Allman Brothers Band.

Wow man..what beautiful homage you pay to an old friend...love it..celebrating life..what its all about...all the experience...lifetime in the road...loves and losses...I never want to lose my brothers...bless you Duane and Gregg...The Alman Brothers...
I took my nephew to see Gregg Allman a year before his death, he was with his band and they were great, the next month we went to see Dr John at the same venue in Kansas City, and he was fantastic, they were both gone within a year, I am so glad that I introduced my nephew to these great artists
I had the good fortune of meeting and talking to Gregg after a concert in Rochester,NY a year before he passed away. He was very cool and gracious. I will never forget it! RIP Gregg.
wonderful tribute ....been a fan and saw the brothers several times before the passing of Duane and Berry. Greg's laid back lp always was a go to for me when I was down.... these days and queen of hearts being stand outs on the release. thanks for the post and excellent pics & tune !
Wow. ‘Please don’t confront me with my failures..I ve not forgotten them’. ❤️. Brilliant lyrics by Jackson Browne.
Grew up on this music, I was 12 when I heard my first Allman Brothers song in 72. It was today my girlfriend told me to hold on as I was driving when she said, Gregg Allman has just passed away! Our condolences to the family, friends and fans. Salute and thank you so very much for some of the greatest music I have ever heard!
I'm so w you on this ! I saw him in concert twice , backstage once w a picture too! I will always treasure the memories that he's given me since 1972 as well and I'm 58 now, he will be missed and not forgotten !! Semper Fi Marine God Bless !! Thank You for so Much 🙏❤️
Couldn't have said it better
YES!!! He went down as one of the few,true-blue.!! American LEGEND!!!
I have always loved Gregg Allman's voice. There is vulnerability that comes as an additional bonus.
Just WOW! No one better...Ever... Miss this music so much!! LEGEND!
With deepest Gratitude for your music. I feel it in my Soul. Rest in Paradise.
London, Paris, Paradise 2019
I have so much gratitude for his music. So talented.
please don't confront me with my failures, i'm aware of them. this is my prayer. Amen
+Destiny Starr The original lines (from Jackson Browne) are:
"Please don't confront me with my failures
I had not forgotten them."
I think both versions get the message across! :-)
never give up
✌️ Peace Destiny
These two lines are forever sung in my head and sometimes I randomly just sing them out and I can't sing! Absolutely love Laid Back....and Greg....
I was lucky enough to see Gregg on his Laid Back tour in, I believe 1974, at the Chicago Auditorium theater. What a great concert.
Rips me up everytime.
Jackson Browne wrote this song when he was 16. Man some folks are born with it. Greg's take is certainly the best.
I just cried,it was so beautiful
I am wiping your tears away.......Remember Greg with a smile.........
This song is so my life. Thank you
I consider myself blessed to have seen the Allmans and Gregg solo a few times. Georgia is mourning good friend
They paved the way for country rock 🎸. I truly love your soul
Still can't get it in my head that that voice is silent, now for a year. I am 68 and I still listen to this and Whipping Post every single day. My touchstone!
Greatest in all ways and missed by more than you could imagine.
Damn I'm getting old. Remember 69 the first time I heard the brothers. I was 15 still listening.
I just finished reading his book for the 2nd time. I always end up in tears. He was such a warm, sweet man. so talented and humble. He is missed very much but it makes me feel better knowing he's with his entire family in heaven along with Barry Oakley, and Butch Trucks all making beautiful music.
Amazing Thank You Jackson for a great song
Jackson Browne wrote this when he was 17 years old. How is this even possible!? Such great insights from someone so young is beyond remarkable.
beethoven wrote some amazing stuff at age 4
16
Awesomeness personified!!!
Thank you for sharing this sweet version of one of my favorite Jackson Browne songs. That slide show brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. Gregg Allman is without peer...
masterpiece of a song. i didn't think i'd find a cover of this better than the original.
until i found this.
so soulful.
A piece of a lot of childhoods passed when he left us. The fact that we have the music to admire for all time is proof there is a benevolent god up in heaven.
He's still a part of those childhoods. You listen to this song.. there he is.
Gregg Allman and Jackson Browne singing “ Melissa” on You Tube together. UNBELIEVABLE Video ❤️😇🙏🥰
Not sure what version of them singing together you've seen, I've seen a couple versions with different edits, but when Browne is at a specific place in the song his voice cracks with emotion, and Gregg catches his eyes and gives him a smile. A very tender moment in a glance. I'll never forget it
Rest in peace, Gregg... Thank you for all the great music that will live on always~
Love this song Gregg sings it well but Jackson Browne version is my favorite. Miss you Gregg.
One of my favorite songs he ever did even if he didin't write it. I play that song on my quitar. Greg has so much meaning in his voice. A real classy musician. and of course the Allman Brothers Band.
I am still so in love with this man…THAT VOICE!!!!!
Love Greg Allman. One of the best blues vocalist ever..Loved the photo of Greg & Duane.

I thank my mother still in heaven everyday for giving me the gift of the abb Gregg has molded me into who I am with every raspy lyric and stroke of the keys...

What a lovely tribute! He sure was a beautiful man...and what an extraordinary talent!! Miss him ♥
To me this was one of the changing points in my life when I heard Dwayne and Greg Allman, the greatest band of all time!
Duane Allman is the greatest guitarist. "Start playing, wait for it to catch fire, then just let go," Duane Allman to Don Felder of the Eagles.
Absolutely love his voice and this Album is so beautiful, it brings back so many lovely memories. RIP Greg.

Ringo Thomas I'm so sorry for your loss. I know you listen to those songs over and over on special dates and just cry and think of him. My heart goes out to you. I do the same thing only about the loos of my daughter.
I saw him again in Apr 2016 what an amazing artist he was , grew up around this music from the early 70s and he just got better as he aged …. I remember seeing an interview where he said he never thought he was a good singer , I just hear incredible depth and singing from his soul every time I hear him sing …… Excellent blues singer …..
