    I just purchased 2 of these for my Reolink GO PT Plus cameras. I set them and purchased the data plans. It didn't give me an option of picking T Mobile or ATT. Where do I choose? I need ATT because I have a tower one mile away. Thanks

      Thanks for the questions Alton, you said that you set them and purchased the data plans. Have you received the cards and have you activated them yet? When I ordered mine, I had the opportunity at activation to ask to be on one or the other and I asked for ATT. Now I'm trying to find out from them a little more information, however I believe it 'just works' off which ever of those two carriers have the best coverage in your particular location, trying to confirm.

      @@TryNewThings I emailed the company and they did confirm it just runs off the best of the available networks. They did confirm mine are running off the ATT tower. Thanks for the reply.

    What is the minimum monthly data plan needed for the camera to work with out live feed interruptions?

    • @TryNewThings
      @TryNewThings  ปีที่แล้ว

      Luis, I hope this goes to answer your question. I never turn my camera's off, even on weekends when I'm out at the farm, so the cameras are catching me going about my chores. When I am not there during the week, I pick up animals moving about the property, and on real windy days I do get some of the tree movement setting off the cameras as well. Now, all that being said, my cameras are using on average 0.08 G per month. Very little, but I'm also not constantly 'just looking in', I'm relying on the alerts to let me know when something is going on. But that isn't even a Gig a year. If I had my camera at the house, and was covering traffic etc I would assume a lot more usage, but even if it were 10x. that would be 0.8G per month. I would go with the lowest price plan, you can always up it if you need to.

    You mentioned using the EIOTCLUB card in a trail camera. That's exactly what I'm wanting to do for about 8 months out of the year. I have 5 REOLINK GO PT's. Can I get EIOTCLUB sim cards and put them in the cameras and use them for about 8 months and then stop buying data plan for about 4 months and then when I'm ready to use the cams again, can I just repurchase data and reactivate the existing EIOTCLUB card that's already in the camera or do I have to purchase another card from EIOTCLUB because of the non use. I ask because I have 5 REOLINK GO PT's and if I have to rebuy cards, that is $25 each time. Thanks in advance

      Dale, thanks for the questions. If you go with EIOTCLUB hold onto the credit card the mini-sim comes connected to. With the card number you can check your account any time online. You can re-activate an existing card by starting payments again. Not sure if you can exactly get 8 months or not, I do know they have 3 month plans available (and maybe monthly). So 6 or 9 months of service is definite option. 5 Reolink Go PTs eh? I'm loving those cameras for the barn since I'm typically only there on weekends. So far have captured squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, possums, foxes, cats, dogs, and even put the run to neighbor kids when they got to close to the barn and triggered the alarm :) Back to EIOTCLUB questions, no need to re-buy a new card. EIOTCLUB actually reached out to me and asked me to do a review, they sent me 2 cards, I only activated one card to start as I am still running one cam on the TMO card I purchased, but, I can cancel that, activate the 2nd EIOT card at any time. I signed up the other one for 6 months, so will keep my eye on my card account, when it runs out, I'll just sign up likely for a year this time around. Now selfish plug, if you have not already subscribed, I'd appreciate it if you could, even temporarily. Pushing for 1000 subs and I'm 18 short as of today :)

    Will these sim cards and plans work on ptt radio systems like zello?

    • @TryNewThings
      @TryNewThings  ปีที่แล้ว

      Albert, thanks for the question. Unfortunately I cannot speak to ptt radio systems. I have no experience with those set ups (honestly never heard of them before, but you have me curious and I'm going to look it up). Again apologies, however I do not want to provide you with a false answer.

    Hey Chris, great option for security. But I got to say your camera you are using to make this video is fantastic. The clarity is impressive. Make and model please.
    Oh, the barn looks great and is filling up quite nicely.

      Canon EOS M100 - I bought it (and like it) because the view screen flips up and you can see if you are in frame or not. Before that I used just go-pros and you never really know what your filming :)

      One down side of the M100 though... no option for a remote mic.

      Either did I unfortunately - When I went to TMO for the first cam, I wanted to just pay a lump sum for a full year at $10 month. They said to get the $10 I had to pay month, had to sign up for a year, and had to sign up for auto pay. Still works for me because I intend to keep the cameras running all year, but for those guys that use them in the trail cams, being able to sign up for 3 months at a time is really a good deal. They also have less data/month trail cam deals that I believe get the price down even further. Anyways, I'm happy, will likely end up canceling my TMO deal after a year and get another EIOT card.

    I am in wildlifemonitoring in Germany and run my first PT with the Eiotcard and think this is a far more better solution than a plan with t-mobile or Vodaphone. We have bad coverage at some places and with this card i dont have any issues. Thanks for making this review. Think i should do something similar for my followers in German. Stay save.

      Awesome, had no idea that it was even available in other countries. I just was sent a new camera to try out yesterday. 4G as well but a different brand, be interesting to see if as good as the Reolink. Certainly less expensive.

      Thanks Steve for the added information, very much appreciated. I also see they have a new camera model out as well, a step up from the ones I bought. I can see where camouflage would have it's advantages... In my case, I'm hoping people see that I have cameras set up :)
