I agree re. Holding the mic in the hand… it’s very distracting and find myself just looking at the receiver rather than the person. I love a hidden mic and you are the best!
Oh my God I'm glad you said something about the mic holding trend. It's so annoying to see these creaters all start holding mics and constantly moving their hands while talking. STOP THAT TH-cam!!
Yes. THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS!!! I can’t stop looking at their mic, especially when they have a windscreen on it… my mind thinks “fuzzy caterpillar!” and my eyes go straight to it. So distracting!
@@DavidFamous I saw another video where the guy was showcasing how it could theoretically work, but one would need to shave off part of the plastic in order to make it fit on the DJI mic mark 1
Thanks for the video, this is all the info I needed to decide that this is probably the most versatile audio solution for me. I've been recording with a lav into a Tascam Portacapture X6. It can send the audio to my camera via the 3.5mm jack and it sounds really good, but the whole setup just got too bulky. I'll let the field recorder be a field recorder and use it as such and get the DJI Mic 2 with the adapter for video from now on.
I just received the DJI mic 2 today and it's not compatible with the a6700 when you have the smallrig cage on, so I was looking for an adapter to add to the cold shoe of the cage and then DJI releases the solution in the middle of my search😂😂😂😂 . Great Video, Sidney!
the mic trend thing is such a funny concept to bring up. It's like looking at a news anchor, someone walking and talking around a convention stage, performing or publicly speaking on a mic, it's something all of us see but for some reason this is a trend to bring it up like it's supposed to stop anyone. You see people also attaching them to pencils and rulers, some skipped that step and just held it in their hand. It probably won't go away and it's because there's always familiarity from other applications and there will always be counter culture aspects of any creative form. I like it, it's different than a movie and that's actually kinda cool that we see old tech being used in new ways. Considering picking up a wireless mic handle just to try it out. The oddest part is that we live in a creative community and we see others doing something a different way and just come at it hahah pretty funny.
Wow!! I will definitely pick this up for my Sony Zv1 once its available in Malaysia. I hope DJI would work on creating a mount for the receiver and insta360 x3 / x4. I would love to use the receiver and 2 mics instead of just bluetooth which only allows me to use 1 mic
You still have to plug headphones into the camera to check your shots. So you’re still wired. I got one of these though. It’s one less wire to deal with.
so question, if you use the adaptor, and then now plug another mic into the port of the now available mic jack, will it work as 2 mic systems or the one on the camera stop working?
I just wonder if it is allows to balance on the weebill 3s and my Sony a7c. Maybe it is. I cannot balance a big shotgun/ stereo micro on a gimbal. I hope i can with this.
Dang ive never tried a lav mic under shirt like that, i was told 1) it wont sound that good, and 2) shirt rubbing it would cause noise. What lav mic are you using?
It would be super cool if DJI allowed you to pair your lav mic to multiple DJI 2 receivers and use this hot shoe to be cableless wireless audio sync to multiple cameras. No need for time code when both cameras have the exact same audio.
Thanks for sharing and I just learned a tip. I didn't know you can change the audio levels for both receiver and transmitter from the main screen so thanks.
That is an awesome adapter! If I hadn't chanced across a second-hand Røde Wireless Go a few months ago, I would almost certainly be buying this and a Dji wireless mic! I love my Røde, though - I use it with Zoom calls. And I'm with you on the visible mic thing - I clip my transmitter inside my collar to make it less visible. But it has a little blue power light that sometimes needs hiding... Grr..
It just looks good but for me very unusful if it's related to the camera pins,, and the most important for meif I use it on gimbal means extras weight and for handheld while I have my camera cage means nothing as I have to attach the mic on the cage itself still
Of course the further you get away from a shotgun mic, the less sound will be received into the mic. What does that have to do with DJI utilizing the hot shoe of camera for their wireless units?
I'm a big fan of your content and I'm reaching out for some advice. I'm in need of a wireless solution to monitor audio, especially when I'm away from the camera or receiver. Could you recommend any reliable systems that offer wireless monitoring compatibility with headphones? I'm open to any wireless headphone options. Thanks in advance for your help!
So cool. I really wish, DJI would but some number on the display so that I can see my audio levels, not just guess at what level I'm hitting. Great meeting you at NAB!
SONY USERS! Would you get this adapter???
Yeah... I've been debating Rode pro or DJI Mic2... I think this seals it.
its a must for sure! No cables golden.
@@TheAaronalden yep for sure!
How did you get this?
@@racemode DJI works with a lot of creators, but the cool thing is we can now order it and the price is very reasonable

Agreed!
Double agree! 👍

So glad this now exists! Going back to using wires was the only downside when upgrading from the Sony ECM-W2BT to the DJI Mic 2.
is the adapter compatible with the dji mic 1?
I would also love to know this 😃
I just checked the DJI website and unfortunately it's not... I really wanted it to be though 🙃
Really cool piece of gear! Didn't know this existed, thanks!

thats the real question, i dont need another mic juat for the adapter

This is awesome… when is the Canon version coming?
does the 32 bit float work this way? wouldn't it be better to just record internal 32 bit with the lav mic and add in post?
It probably can’t do float in this manner.

I second that! I wanna know if this works on the DJI Mic 1 too?
Cool video! I just purchased my Mic 2 adapter, can't wait to try it out. Can it be used where the audio interface of the receiver is facing forward?
No. It only works with the receiver screen facing the shooter. You can’t see when vloggiing. Improves the audio quality though.
@@aliruaneI received mine the same day this video posted. So far the only time I’ve taken it off my zve1 was when I had it on my fx3. Love this thing!

Was there any point in this video where the internal transmitter mic was used?
what wired lavalier mic are you using in the video?

No, just the Mic 2
